Description

ART FOR YOUR EAR brings you stories from some of my favorite contemporary artists. When I studied Art History, the best part was, well, the gossip. I loved finding out why artists did certain things, what was going on in their personal lives, and behind-the-scenes details about other artists they knew and worked with. This podcast is exactly that ... inside-scoop stories from the artsiest people I know. You'll hear first-hand from these talented, successful, full-time artists (who also happen to be regular people with hilarious stories) BEFORE they’re in the Art History books. - Danielle (aka The Jealous Curator)

The current episode with Ashley Longshore is the perfect antidote for the Covid virus and the insanity of the current world.
I will praise myself for not wearing a bra!

5 STARS!!! Over the years of listening to this quirky podcast, Danielle has become a friendly voice on whom I can rely. I seem like an extrovert and even behave (mostly) like one but I really prefer to be in my studio or in my home, creating. Being part of a collaborative tribe isn’t easy for me. Danielle makes it seem possible. Her podcast is fun, interesting, full of extremely useful information and fantastically motivating. Her interviews of Artists about their lives, inspirations and crazy stories are so interesting! The talent and perseverance of many is a wonder for me to hear. If you are looking for a new podcast, even if you are not in the art world, this is a rare Gem.

I've been following Danielle for years and love how she is inspiring not only artists but people in all walks of life to notice and honour creativity. The world can alway use more art and Danielle brings art and artists to me that I would have never likely come across in my life time. It's like popping in to the worlds best gallaries when ever I want and where ever I am! Thank you Danielle. I am looking forward to reading your next book on the inner critic.

Danielle's podcast as the Jealous Curator, "Art For Your Ear" is both informative and personal. It allows for an insight into the process of artists who are at all stages in their careers long before the information will hit the art history books. My favourite part about art history was hearing the anecdotal stories about artists and now I get to hear them from the source!
I'm an avid podcast listener, and while many haven't stood the test of time, this podcast is now the only podcast I'm excited for. I've listened to every episode (some multiple times) and leave feeling inspired as an artist myself. Don't miss this one.

I LOVE THIS PODCAST. I finish listening to it and want to run into a studio. It is so inspiring to hear the stories of all these artists, and I can do it while I walk to school! Definitely my favourite podcast out there right now. And I love the blog posts that match!

As someone interested in art, but with really no background, these interviews and posts have really humanized artists and contextualized art for me. I feel so much more free to just make for the sake of making. It's been a great way to get out of my head and into my heart. Plus, I feel a special connection to Danielle, as we grew up in the same tiny town.

I'm more of a Money Planet/Freakonomics/TED Radio Hour podcast guy but I downloaded this one because the title "The Jealous Curator" caught my interest.
This is a very relaxed, conversational style of podcast and introduced me to artist with whom I was not familiar. It takes a little getting used to the interview approach as the host seems to have some personal realtionships with some and the conversations sometime are of a more personal flavour than something you might find on NPR or CBC but that is the character of the podcast. Once you're used to it, it's a little like eavesdropping on people who know a lot more about art than you do and picking up tidbits of knowledge and new names to look into.

I have to admit that I listen to a LOT of podcasts. My standard poodle Pepper is a built-in excuse for lots of walking and lots of listening. Therefore, when I tell you that this one is a “must listen”? You should listen to it!
Danielle is the super successful collage artist, book author & art blogger who has now turned her talents to podcasting. Charming, funny, self-deprecating and without pretense, this is THE art podcast that you need. It’s fresh, light-hearted and engaging without being oh so pretentious.
Even better? Danielle has illustrations on her blog to accompany each episode. And clocking in at about half an hour, it’s THE perfect length for that dog walk, that daily sketch or that sink of dishes that need’s doing.
