Description

Every episode we blast anyone who gets in our way. We bring critical thinking, skepticism, and irreverence to any topic that makes the news, makes it big, or makes us mad. It’s skeptical, it’s political and there is no welcome mat.

Skeptical and irreverent, as advertised. Definitely not appropriate for kids or mature adults. Has sent me to urban dictionary on a few occasions. Also there is totally a welcome mat.

Great podcast, it seems to be just hilarious, but there are a lot of hidden depths of actual insight (not that the hosts would admit to it!)

Tom and Cecil play up their bawdy and irreverent humour, but their takes on the news are well- informed, thoughtful and sometimes touching. Come for the laughs, stay for the insight.

Poignant and meandering discussions on the topics that will irk you, perk you or downright jerk you into awareness. Put your ethics hat on, your ability to consent (unless you’re a minor or not human!) and get ready to get some grease on yourself as you dive into the minds of Tom and Cēcil.

I LOVE this podcast. Tom and Cecil have a great chemistry, with a sense of humour that while dark, is also refreshing. Some podcasts are "when I get the chance to listen" ones - Cognitive Dissonance is a "listen as soon as it's downloaded" one. Keep it up guys, and gloryhole.

Low-Brow, Unfunny

Well, not entirely unfunny, but approximately one-sixth as funny as they apparently think they are.
Honestly, I tried two or three episodes of this podcast, and the raucous fake laughter was cringeworthy. If you're an authentically funny person, you don't need to oversell it like this. An 'I Love Lucy'-era laugh track would probably be less grating.
I was sincerely interested in the topics they discussed, but this loud, vaguely sexist 'morning zoo' style is more suited to 1989 FM radio than a 2016 podcast.

When you need your glory hole filled, Tom and Cecil won't be much help but they'd still stick something in it. Filling it would be beyond their capabilities but give them an A for effort.
I love this show - they're silly but they do what is needed - lampoon religions and the crazy ideas associated with them. For a great laugh about a serious subject from some not so serious (but absolutely serious at the same time) guys... this is your podcast.
I think there was an episode where they swore (said poop) but this really is safe for work listening.

Boisterous, exaggeratedly foul mouthed buffoons. Fifteen min of actual listenable content mired in a 90 min, intolerably boring adolescent conversation. I can't believe how any cognizant person over the age of 12 could expose themselves to this crap.

Cognitive Dissonance is my favourite irreverent secular podcast, hands down! (Hear that, Noah and Heath? You're trailing behind a smidgen!)
The back catalogue has filled many a long drive to work with laughter, and their chemistry makes each episode feel like you've joined a couple of very loud and opinionated friends for a drink! Tom and Cecil's sense of humour might not be for everyone, but the insight and heart they bring to every segment damn well should be.

So, I search for this to give it a 5-star review and Scathing Atheist isn’t even on the list! What’s wrong with Apple? You show up on both of their shows. Skepticrat? I’ll figure out how to wrap them into this when they come back from the hiatus. Anyway, about the Scathing Atheist, they seriously dropped the ball not promoting them with your show. I mean, they have such great content. They’re usually up-to-date with their stories and it never fails to get several laughs. Have you listened to Scathing Atheist? I can’t say anything bad about it. You should listen to them sometime. Seriously, Scathing Atheist completely changed my podcast life.
I’ll leave your review on God Awful Movies and God Awful Movies’s on Scathing Atheist. If someone happens to read this, hopefully it will raise awareness of all these awesome podcasts. Should I plug Thomas and the Bible, too? Atheistically Speaking, yes. I’m skeptical about that. I guess that makes me a skeptic (Skeptics with a K, come on). What’s Imaginary Friends Show called now? I don’t know. Maybe I should ask Adam Reakes of The Herd Mentality. I’m sure you guys will forgive me for cross-promoting all the awesome of the community. Thank God I’m Atheist.
Love,
Me
PS. For two people who claim to put on a terrible show, you sure did manage to make an impact on Smalley’s Podcastathon. You poked holes of glory throughout the entirety of the show. Whether you are willing to accept it while recording or not, you guys have forever changed the lives of probably thousands of people. You’ve changed mine. I don’t live in fear anymore. I listened to a lot of podcasts before discovering yours (simultaneous with one other previously listed). Even though these were supposed to be aimed at helping people recover from religion, none succeeded. I needed to get angry and laugh. More importantly, I needed to know it is okay to get angry and laugh. You guys helped me feel okay being me. Thank you.

I listen to many atheist podcasts (and others) but I always look forward to hearing this one. The boys are quick witted, irreverent, and well spoken. Sometimes they go a bit overboard with the laughing, but the laughing helps to emphasize the idiocy of some of the stories they report on. A great podcast overall even if it is "not approved of by the local dairy council".
