News in Slow Spanish is a podcast for those who already possess a basic vocabulary and some knowledge of Spanish grammar. Your host are native Spanish speaker from Spain.
In our program we discuss the world news, grammar, and expressions, and much more in simplified Spanish at a slow pace so that you can understand almost every word and sentence.

I am almost completely new to the language and I'm following the theory that listening to a language even without understanding is useful in training your brain to get used to the frequencies of sounds, syllables and common words. This podcast is perfect for this since the speaking rate is slow but natural, the pronunciation is clear and the voices are pleasant to listen to and contain emotion and emphasis. The occasional song played are pleasant but have clear pronunciation also with uncluttered instrumental accompaniment.
The use of both male and female voices is a good choice so the brain gets used to hearing the sounds in different registers and the choice of news means that even a complete newcomer to the language such as myself can sometimes pick up the topic being discussed, even if that isn't my purpose for listening yet. When my brain starts to get used to the syllables/word frequencies I might feel comfortable becoming more active in my study of the language but for now I am content to be like an infant listening to the adults talk without knowing what it all means.

I live this podcast. !Es fantástico! Because current events that you've most likely heard about in English are the topic of the Spanish podcast I am able to grasp concepts and phrases quickly. This is a great supplement to your language study program

As a Canadian trying to learn Spanish, it's imperative that you expose yourself to the language using modern expressions. It's also very helpful hearing world events discussed. I love their energetic and sometimes playful approach to the subject matter.

I get more out of these podcasts then most learning materials. The topical 'tests' aka news are a good way to connect the Spanish you know to current events and learns how to speak about then in a natural way.

My Spanish is probably upper intermediate, and I find these lessons to be perfect. They provide excellent news coverage, interesting idioms, and very useful grammar. Special programs like features of Latinamerican
countries are also very useful. Cinco estrellas!!
