"Justin Theroux"

Time: 1:07:17
Our knockaround guy from the old neighborhood, Mr. Justin Theroux, arrives wearing two t-shirts, and departs in only one. Justin is an actor, writer, artist, and performer, known most notably for his shirtless airplane flights and pre-made smoothie recipes. He’s also written lil’ things like Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2, and is starring in The Mosquito Coast. But sometimes we just love him for how he stirs the gravy.

Stop talking

Please let the guests actually talk. Please stop saying how you adore every single guest, that they’re your favourite- and just let your guests speak. Also, now you have too many ads. Why not just drop them, it’s too disruptive to an already too disrupted podcast. Or just drop the guests altogether and you guys just talk if that’s what you want to do so much. It was hilarious until it wasn’t. It’s not just the people in Wisconsin who can’t relate to you. Will and Jason you’re completely out of touch with the rest of the world’s reality.

I listen to your brilliant podcast while at the pool of my condo building. I wear earbuds and a wide brimmed hat (sun safe) while laying in the sun laughing out loud so much that I’m pretty sure the other pool loungers think I’m off my meds.
Thank you for your wonderful, hilarious chemistry that evokes these laughs I have. And thank you for bringing equally funny and bright guests on who can evoke laughs from all of you. Absolutely love this show. Sincerely, Sue from Canada🇨🇦

The first podcast I ever got addicted to was armchair expert (with Dax and Monica). The only reason I listened to smartless was because Dax was the first episode and since that day I have been hooked! I have listened to every episode and I love all three hosts and the format. Would highly recommend giving this podcast a listen !!

So, I deliver mail for a living, and I listen to podcasts or music or books online… but ever since I heard of ‘smartless’ it’s ALL I can listen to. I love you guys so much!! Thanks for all the laughs!! People probably think I’m loosing it walking up to their front door laughing out loud with my hidden ear pod in. But I can’t help it!!
Speaking to your idea to tour… DO IT!! Come to Vancouver!! Will and I can yuck it up about being Canadian!! Thanks guys!!

Disgusted with the way the AD crew (excl. Sean) callously defended Jeffery Tambor who has had many individuals accuse him of various forms of harassment. I can’t listen to this anymore nor can I watch the show the same way. Poor Jessica, may she Rest In Peace. Not that this crew ever acknowledged her passing. Shame.

Love love love this show. Jason, Sean and Will are amazing hosts, they really seem to be having genuine fun doing this. The guests and the banter are incredible, you can tell these guys have been friends for years, remind me of my golf buddies poking fun at each other all the time. Also, I’m definitely making the David Chang tuna sandwich!

I wait patiently every week for the new drop! I use your podcast in the great outdoors. Whether, I’m cross country skiing, gardening, hiking up a mountain or doing a big climb on my mountain bike, you guys make me laugh out loud every time. The quick wit, off side humour and exceptional honesty is fantastic! Thanks for continuing on with this! Trust me when I say, “I tell all my friends”. With gushing laughter, from BC, Canada’s great out doors! 🇨🇦‘ eh.

Your show is great, your guests are funny, and I love the unscripted banter but listening to Will eat and talk is awful and gross and a tad disrespectful to the audience.

I love this show. I get strange looks on the bus because I’m laughing hard at the conversations they all have with each other and their guests. The interviews are so interesting. I like getting an “insiders look” into the world of acting and directing. It’s so obvious that these three guys love each other. You can tell by the insults and burns they give each other!

You can keep it.

We all subscribe to podcasts and we pick and choose which episodes we listen to. Not with Smartless. You’ll listen to all of them regardless of who the guest is. Sean, Jason and Wil make it enjoyable each and every time. I’d listen if their guest was a pile of hammers. Actual hammers I mean not....we , hammers... oh forget it. You know what I mean. It’s good... even for Canadians.

Luv it

I love this show, everyone is overall very kind and funny. It’s usually a great light listen. The Hurwitz episode today was - for me - subpar. The conversation turns at a point to Jeffrey Tambor, and how funny he is, and people discuss many fond memories of him. This discussion about difficult actors and Tambor in particular was not fleshed out with any reference to the recent-ish assault allegations against him, which I feel minimizes many people’s experiences; it glazes over major issues in favour of the alleged abuser. This could very well be unintentional, or done to keep the tone light, or some such. But the tag line for this show is thoughtful conversations for people of all backgrounds, which this particular conversation was not.

Amazing chemistry with you three, if there were a 3 part ying yang, it’s you guys! I heard you are coming to Toronto, and I will actually sleep on the streets for tickets...and I’m like, middle aged. And as for guests for that all I’ve got to say is “the great one”...you get him, and we will all have to take time off work to get tickets!

Very entertaining. Wicked banter between hosts. Which is why this works so well. Some ageism going on. And for some strange reason seem to be talking about the pandemic in the past tense. It has me wondering if their lives are on fast forward.

I’ve just started listening to podcasts and the smartless episode with Gwyneth Paltrow was my very first. I didn’t think I was a fan of Gwyneth until I listened to this podcast. I absolutely love listening to your episodes. Working from home it’s nice to hear people speaking, I take you guys for a walk, and I just listened to an episode in the car. I think I’m getting addicted...I’ve tried a few other podcasts and I don’t like them as much as yours. You guys are hilarious and make me laugh! Thank you!!!

Love this podcast and always enjoy the guests they bring on. Their relationship dynamic is very entertaining.
The downside - ads are SUPER long, unlike any other podcast I’ve ever listened too. Also, sometimes they don’t let the guest finish their story because someone side tracks the conversation and we never hear the full answer to the original question.

I really like this pod. The guys are so funny, thoughtful and so great together. It is a pleasure to listen to these conversations. The ads are funny too. The most recent one I listened to had an ad for McDonalds. That is where I have to draw the line. Not a fan of McDonalds. I know the bills need to be paid but please look for a different company to pay them. I’m out for now with hope for better in the future.

I just listed to the Melissa McCarthy episode and she told the same stories she told on Armchair Experts. Now that is not the fault of the hosts. But their guest lineup is all on them. And I feel like these guests have done this before on Armchair, which I love. I don’t need to hear it again.
