This podcast is brought to you in partnership with the Canadian Bar Association. It will serve as your educational resource on trauma-informed lawyering. Through inspiring interviews and thoughtful commentary, Myrna will shine a light on a critical competency you did not get any instruction on in law school. Trauma-informed lawyering is a do-no-further-harm, relational approach to the practice of law which benefits you, your clients, your colleagues and the legal profession generally. Lawyers, this is the education about trauma, vicarious trauma and trauma-informed lawyering you didn't know you needed.

This podcast is important for anyone dealing with people in distress. Not just for lawyer, but also really helpful for labour relations practitioners who find themselves In quasi judicial settings and hearings. Love that it decentres the systems we are used to work within. Myrna is an insightful host who asks some really great questions of her guests and models what it means to practice trauma informed lawyering.

Myrna and her guests are discussing urgent and critically important topics that are not given enough (if any) airtime in the legal profession. If we want a more just society we need to listen and act on these issues.

This podcast is important thinking whether you are a lawyer, involved in the criminal justice system or generally interested in developing better approaches. So much of our system operates ignorant to or exploitive of human psychology and reaction to trauma. Better thinking will bring better design which will hopefully bring better solutions.

Every lawyer can benefit from this podcast.
Nothing in law school prepares lawyers for dealing with clients in crisis or who are affected by trauma. Or for contending with the impact of trauma on our ourselves (as legal professionals or as human beings). A must listen for anyone interested in justice, law & policy!
