Though I remain a fan of all the all the Mad Max films and Mel Gibson as well, I have to admit I liked Fury Road the best of them all. Tom Hardy makes a great Max Rockatansky but Nicholas Hoult as the vulnerable believer, Nux is my favourite character. It's non stop action and violent as hell but also effective as a commentary of the world we presently exist in-- corporate greed, fanaticism, the restrictions placed on women and Paradise Lost-- it's all there and done very well. A great ride.

First, let's start by saying that I love the first two Mad Max films……the rest are garbage with out a receptacle. How many truck crashes does a person need before you get bored…it's the ultimate law of diminishing returns. Now the story or lack thereof, is not only base but for the most part sentences are sylibalized into non-sensical moments that get so lost in the mayhem that surrounds the characters to the point that you find your self physically shouting at them to stop f*n talking!

Sound is a wall of noise with no depth or dynamics…(i watch this film in a high end home theatre) so accuracy is very much alive.

To end, take your money and put a match to it ….you will be better rewarded rather than watching this embarrament to filmmaking.

The action and visuals are stunning. Movie itself lacked any depth of a story. Compared to the originals: Mad Max and Road Warrior this movie falls well short. Appreciate the attempts for being a newer story and can understand the current generation loving the movie, but watching the originals this film lacked the urgency and misery of a world with limited resources. Decent movie, but not really great.

It's not the kind of movie that I'd usually watch. Romantic comedy is more my style, BUT I couldn't resist when it was offered as this week's 99 cent rental. And then I got completely caught up in all the drama, the action, the noise. the costumes, the machines, the makeup, the action and the stunts. Wow! A fun ride. I would have given it 5 stars but I lopped off a star as a slap for giving the female parts,, including the lead, such, cliched, characterisations.

This movie is crazy fun. Love the way the story unfolded, didn’t know where it was going until the end, which was very satisfying. Some of the acting and set pieces were a bit over the top however, at points bringing me out of it, but the music along with the engine sounds and explosions, breathtaking visuals and genuine characters kept me along. Definitely worth the $6 rental!

Ok it’s a well done Hollywood special effects action roller coaster that pulls it off for the first 1/2. There after it is simply terrible. It’s like some kind of perverse Margret Atwood feminist fantasy - grannies taking on the evil men of the post apocalyptic world and, of course winning. I can only blame myself for the 5.99 loss - I had heard the criticism prior.

Nothing I say will stop people from seeing this film. (It's release has been anticipated & hyped for literally years). It's a "WOW" experience for the senses in the movie theatre but on the smaller screen you need a story & this movie barely has one. It's basically designed to get every young teen male INTO the theatre and OUT OF his allowance with lots of loud cars, loud music, bikini clad, nubile young models hosing themselves off (ala. "Wet T-Shirt Contest",) loud guitar that shoots flames & crazed-suicidal "war boys". (Mission Accomplished)

For Tom Hardy fan; his great talents are wasted here. You'd be better off RE-watching one of his former films where you can actually hear his voice & see his face. If you want a car chase film WITH a story, try "Speed" or "Duel" (Spielberg film from the 1970's). As for me, I've travelled the "Fury Road" enough.

The plot:

We start off in one direction along the road, meet up with friends and have a bit of a brawl using gas guzzling contraptions in a world with very, very limited fuel. We find some relatives but decided that our original map is outdated (really we forgot what the real destination is). Hence we decided to go back to the start. On the way back we have some more friendly brawls.

And then who knows what happened; but who cares. It was a long road trip and story telling is not important!

Either audiences are expecting less and less from their movies or someone is rigging the rating systems so big budget crappy movies are rated high. This is a stinker of a plot with poor acting and even worse dialogue. I'd rate it negative stars if I could. Waste of money to rent. I Should have waited until it was on Netflix so I could have stopped it after 15 minutes guilt free.
