The purpose of these timelines and maps is to provide a graphic representation of the achievements, conflicts and key points in Indigenous peoples’ histories. It should be noted that many timelines and maps chronicle the events in Indigenous peoples’ history or the relationships over time between First Nations, Métis, Inuit and Europeans. Many are written through a colonial lens and may not accurately reflect histories as understood by Indigenous peoples. They are all different and all have useful information.
