Security improvements have been made to features such as remote controlling, Smart Diagnosis, purchasing supplies, etc. Try them out now.
[iOS Requirements]
- The ThinQ app supports iOS 11.0 and higher. Smartphones using iOS 10.3 or lower must update their OS in order to use the latest version of the app.
[Access Permissions]
The following access permissions are necessary for the ThinQ app to provide service. Optional permissions are not required to use the app but restrictions to certain features may apply.
■ Optional Permissions
- Outgoing Calls: To access related app settings such as language and region and contact the LG Service Center after smart diagnosing devices
- Location: To obtain the device connecting Wi-Fi info when adding devices and search for weather info, current location, etc.
- Photos, Media & Files: To check the storage capacity of your smartphone for downloading the software of devices to add. Certain devices may also send and save images on your smartphone.
- Contacts: To verify user information when signing in to the app
- Camera: To scan QR codes
- Mic: Needed when using the smart diagnosis feature

Bonjour, je ne suis plus capable de rien faire avec la nouvelle version de l’application. Je suis vraiment déçue. Je vous l’appareil et la température intérieur seulement. Si je clic dessus pour changer la température ou la fonction de la machine , non pas capable.

Used to love this app. Let me see how long I have left on the load in the washer or dryer, let me l ow when it was done etc. But ever since the last update it shuts off every time i try to check the timers?! It always takes a minute to connect with the machine then tells you how long you have left. Now when it finally connects it flashes briefly and shuts the app?! Useless

It used to work but since the last update, it just crashes within seconds of opening it. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app but it didn’t help, it still crashes every time.
Even when it worked, most of the features didn’t work in Canada as other users noted. It’s more a gimmick than anything. Just tells you how much time is left but it won’t let you change any of the controls from the app. I wish we went with a different company

J’utilisais assez bien l’application avant la mise à jour du 18 septembre. Je vois toujours mes électroménagers mais il m’est impossible de les contrôler à distance comme auparavant.
De plus, l’application s’éteint toute seule quand je clique sur un de mes électroménagers.
Je dois à présent tout faire manuellement, comme si elle n’était pas connectée au WIFi
Besoin d’un update !!!!

The people who develop this app must have a project manager that walks into he room a day before launch and decides to add a “feature” the development team rolls their eyes at as they pull an all-nighter.
In the latest update to the app we can add rooms. Cool! Except, I am not exactly collecting appliances like Pokémon cards, so I only have three. So, creating a room for one seems redundant since it shows my three devices as the default room. However, the app will constantly muddy the interface as it encourages you to make a room.
Not a problem I can ignore... wait, what is his new button? Oh... great, it is a advertisement for a virtual LG product demo? Wow! I was considering visiting a virtual museum, but this definitely takes priority. Cool, now I’ll just remove it so it isn’t muddying you the interface and... nope, I now have to be subjected to ads for appliances. Neat!
I have a few more moments since my washing machine is stuck checking the product status as it so often does, so I will tell you about the last great part about his app.
Imagine you are out buying hotdogs and your app tells you that your dryer is done. Hmm, you won’t be home for a few hours so it makes sense to give the dryer a bit of a tumble to keep from looking like Crease Lightning. Nope, once the machine is done, you have to manually turn it back on. They say it is a safety issue, but to my knowledge my cat has never opened the door post cycle and claimed in.
Anyway, this app is always just one step away from being pretty okay. Sure, it is slow to load and we always have to look at that slash screen, sure you can’t really control your devices. Sure half the time the devices get stuck loading, but at least we can browse the virtual appliance museum!

The scheduling function is nothing more then delayed off and on timers. I have an air conditioner and there’s no way to set basic commands like turn on at 4 PM or adjust temperature at 10 PM. Even the ability to do this through Apples shortcuts or IFTTT would be appreciate it.

It’s only been A couple of days but everything that I look for in a washer and dryer I have gotten with this LG I did extensive research looked at different brands different options different capacities and this one suited A family of four the best the washer tub is a bit deep but I am a tall guy so I have no problem getting to the bottom of the tub. The dryer dries your clothes very well and I have no damage I am also using the app and the notifications from the app are very helpful

Why can’t I power up the washer from the phone?It makes no sense to go to the unit press the power button and then use the phone to select options.I do that when I am at the machine.Also the app instructions on line has a totally different interface than the one that I downloaded from the App Store.I spent an inordinate amount of time perusing and attempting to set up the parameters,so much so that I will not use the app.another thing is the downloading of cycle options is vague and ambiguous.So many options of so little use.

Purchased a Washer Dryer suite which came with LG ThinQ. Didn’t need the remote abilities as I am now retired but was curious about the notifications on my iPad & iPhone. The WIFI programming was a breeze on the washer once I realized where the password came from. But the dryer was not as cooperative and took about 5 or 6 tries before I was allowed to sync. The notifications now save me trips up and down the stairs to see if the laundry is ready. One annoyance is having to tap three different places to delete notifications

J’oublie toujours mes vêtements dans la laveuse ou la sécheuse. Plus maintenant grâce à l’application qui nous avertit quand un cycle est terminé. J’adore ça!
Par contre, la traduction française laisse à désirer: « Veuillez télécharger les vêtements »! Hahaha!
