If you are an Alberta Blue Cross plan member you can use this app to view your claim and benefit information and
• Submit claims, if your plan allows this, and upload receipts if requested
• Check to see if a claim you recently submitted has been received and processed
• Find out important information about your benefits, including
• Plan rules
• Next eligibility for product or service (such as dental check up or glasses)
• What has been used to date
• Arrange for off-line access to your ID card, and
• View emergency contact information and claiming tips for use when traveling out of province.
Just sign in using a login ID and password that you create during registration. Not registered yet? Simply visit www.ab.bluecross.ca and click on the Sign in button to navigate to the member web site where you can register for access to all our web services.

Can’t register!

So I go through the entire process and then on what may be the last page. Step 5. It has already populated the password?!? Is it using my ID that I already used? Otherwise how am I supposed to know what it is? I think perhaps my iPhone has already entered a “strong password.” But how can I finish the process? I can’t. So I have to Cancel and start all over. After the 2nd attempt it does the same thing. 15 minutes wasted and still not registered.

Couldn’t get past the generate password page. It autofills and won’t permit the keyboard to appear.
I resolved that by going to full website, but even that wouldn’t work with Safari browser, had to call Blue tech support to walk me through doing it with Chrome.
Now I’m helping wife sign up. What a mess. It won’t show anything but the words:
welcome (null) (null)
So, yeah, fire your tech team, Blue Cross. This app is utterly useless to your clients.
FWIW, I really like Blue Cross as an insurer. I’m the owner of the company and didn’t even consider Great West, or any other insurers - Blue Cross is fantastic at what they do. They just need to get with the 90’s on the tech stuff.

I use a password manager and thus I have long complex passwords - it appears they have disabled the ability to paste in a password on the login screen - this goes against security best practice and does not instill confidence in the app.

It’s not a full access pass you have to register online and then you can access member services. It allows you to pull up your card which I use all the time and You can submit claims. That’s enough for me I go on my computer when I need more details.

Every single time I try and login I have to reset my password and when you try and do it on your phone you can’t as it’s to glitchy and automatically fills in the old and new password with gibberish you can’t change. I think this app is junk so you can never make a claim. I used to have sun life and it’s night and day
Latest version fail for submitting claim for ‘other’

In the current app, if you submit a claim for ‘other’ it is no longer asking the information and then it errors when you submit - this needs to be fixed - as you can do this through the website with no problems - which was the case for previously in the app.

Your updates say that you listen to feedback but there are countless reviews asking for the app to save the password and make use of Touch ID. My last review was over a year ago and still no progress on those basic features. These features are basic functionality in an iPhone app, and not having them is incredibly inconvenient and annoying.

This app is an absolute tire fire. Went online to submit a claim- says I need to use the app. Download the app and it says I need to use the mobile website. Login to that and it directs me to use the app. I’ve logged in 35 times and haven’t even seen the tab to submit a claim although there is a great video telling me how to submit a claim online- NOT the app... I can’t tell if I’m experiencing all the crashes everyone else is describing or I just got way stupider trying to navigate this mess. I don’t care what BC is doing in the community, nor do I need their Balance - but I do need to submit this claim.

Works fine until you go to select Upload Doctors Referral notes. The app looks like it closes out to load up the Camera app for you to snap a pic of the document and then nothing happens. It just flat out crashes. I’ve tried this twice now and same thing. Looks like I’m mailing it in the old fashioned way again...

What a poorly developed app. You can’t ad your ID card to apple wallet which is a standard feature with every other Drug/Dental/travel plan I’ve had (sunlife, great west life, manualife). The app crashes too much so I deleted it.

My fiancé has her benefits app with Alberta teachers benefits (not sure exact name of it) and her app is AMAZING, very easy to submit claims, to see how much you have claimed and how much is remaining, waaaaay more user friendly and more info and wish this app would be done like hers!

When reviewing completed claims it doesn’t allow us to see the form that shows explanations of coverage. Put this on the app then I’ll use it, otherwise just use the mobile/website.
