Version 1.1.12219
everyone hates this app but i’ve used this app for over 3 years and it’s only ever messed with me once or twice. it’s pretty accurate with when the bus comes and nearby stops are easy to find. it’s really useful when you know how to use the app

Poor app

Trying to find a stop by navigating the map; does not
refresh with the stops in the area. That’s a pretty
simple database request. Get on it people.

Version 1.1.12219
All I want is to enter an address and to go to and have the app tell me which stop to go to and which bus(es) to get on. Google can do it but a City of Edmonton transit app can’t?? Why am I not surprised.

Barely works

Version 1.1.12219
If you know how to use the app and what to expect it's not completely terrible. That being said there's plenty of bugs, the times are really inconsistent and can change on the dime. I've missed so many busses because they'd show up way sooner than the estimated time. The ETS in general is just really bad and combined with the app it can be really frustrating.

This app sucks

Version 1.1.12219
Live feed says bus is about 5 minutes away, and almost every time I leave to head for the bus stop it’s always gone, I’ll hit refresh and it’ll be as if the bus’ live feed jump forward on the map a mile
This happens very frequently and when you it’s -33 outside it’s infuriating.

No Trip Planner

Its useful for bus times and such but it doesn't have a feature to be able to set up a trip from where you are to your destination so essentially its useless might as well stick with ETS to go on the web or google maps

this app is probably the worst navigation app i’ve ever tried to use. it doesn’t tell you what bus to take, you can’t search a route on what buses to take to the location you’re trying to get to. absolute garbage.

No trip planner?

What a useless app. Thought I would try out Edmonton transit and what a let down. The app doesn’t tell you what bus to take to get to your destination. It is not intuitive at all. If you want people to use transit it needs to be much easier than this.

Not good at all just use google maps

What's the point of a bus app if you can't select a start and end point to tell you how to get to where you want to go. You have to already know what bus you want to take and where to transfer. Another great waste of taxpayer money.

Technically I can get the information I need but it almost takes me longer using the app then it does to just look it up through a browser. There are several spots throughout the app where I got stuck in the navigation. It also breaks pretty much every standard of good native mobile design.

Personally, I think it's a great app. I don't know why many people don't like it. The app doesn't crush. It has all the routes including LRT. It has all the maps of routes. You also can see the estimated time of the bus. If you only want to know the time of the bus, the app is quick and easy.

Version 1.0.7805
Edmonton Transit's incompetence extends to their app. GPS is not accurate, trip planner is a joke, general crap app. (Don't be too surprised though, ETS usually can't get it right). Don't waste your time with this app, just go back to waiting for when the train or bus decides to show up, as per usual.

Version 1.0.7805
This app will tell you when the buses comes and goes, but you will have to add the location stop of your buses before you know their time. So if you are new to the city, i will suggest you to use google map instead. Lacking: when are you planning to add the LRTs time on this???

Okay everyone was telling me that it was going to have the buses in real time but it doesn't. The app is confusing. To even maneuver in and you can't fingered hardly anything out. Save yourself the hassle and download google maps instead. Way more helpful than this.

Version 1.0.5809
There's so much potential for this app to be great... but it's not. It would benefit greatly from adding system maps and a form of the Trip Planner from the website. I was hoping for something that would replace my frequent trips through my browser but this isn't it. Hopefully it will be soon.

Disappointed

Version 1.0.5809
Live location for all the busses is the only solution. The buses are never on time. Tracking is a must and only alternative to -40. Also save yourself some money by making the data available to other 3rd party transit apps as these apps usually do a better job.

Functional for ETS connoisseurs...

Version 1.0.5809
Although one who is well-versed in bus-stop numbers, locations, transfers, etc. would find this app useful (and indeed it does have its uses at times, although only in conjunction with an app like Transit, which is actually capable of calculating routes between locations and providing a user-friendly interface), I would not recommend this to anyone who is not extremely familiar with (or at all remotely new to) the ETS system.
On top of it all, it feels as though the absolute minimum amount of effort was put into the UI, which is clunky at best. You know you app is lacking when the first item in the 'Help' section outlines 'How to use the help section.'

It's handy app to use to check for schedules, but to quickly find a route and associated times, Google maps is far simpler and more powerful. It's a start but definitely not a competitor.

Version 1.0.5809
IF you are near a stop with one of the newly live-monitored bus lines, and want to see when the next bus is REALLY going to arrive, this app will fairly quickly tell you. This can be extremely valuable. Otherwise the app falls well short of competing transit apps such as Google Maps, or Transit. Edmonton Transit did us all the favour of making its schedule data available for serious app developers, and I hope they will do the same (perhaps they have already?) with the live data. Then we have nothing to complain about.
For managing transportation in Edmonton I recommend Google Maps or Transit. The latter provides quite a bit of useful information even when you have no internet access. But neither seem to have incorporated the live data yet. This should be a goal for ETS!

Version 1.0.5809
It's a start, and is helpful if you want to know the schedule of all of the buses, but not so useful for finding the right buses to take to get where you want to go. If that's what you're looking for, downloading Google Maps and using the transit setting is probably a better option.
