Works perfectly

Brilliant app that works as advertised. I’ve been using it for the last 4 months with the Rode RD-SC6-L adapter to record in stereo and so far it has delivered without a glitch on my iPhone Xs. Super stable, easy to use with just enough features.

Recording under Heavy Sound Pressure is doable with the mic gain set to minimum. Though I would love and option to lower the minimum mic gain setting by an extra -6db for those very High Sound Pressure situations where sound reaches 120 to 130db.

I definitely recommend this app.

Doesn’t work

I just installed the app as without a mic you can’t always hear so thought this would be great. I have turned mic on in settings and allowed app to use mic but when doing a video you can barely hear. Disappointed.

Why only 3- stars for such convenience ？？？

I’ve been using the app for a year now. It does its job perfectly, always without hesitation. It includes all you need for a mic accommodating app - angle changes, mode changes, recording button, etc.

Every time I plug it in, I go into the app, ensure all the values are set, and switch straight into the camera. Note that THIS ALSO WORKS FOR THE CAMERA recording, as long as it’s plugged in.

Can’t see any reason why not giving it a 5 - star.

Broken for iPhone X

The mic and app were working great - until I upgraded to iPhone X. The mic doesn’t work 90% if the time, and when it does work, the audio drops intermittently and is choppy. Haven’t been able to use this mic for 3 months because of this and reported the issue way back then. Still no fix. Hoping Shure fixes this... as of now the mic and app are useless.

Does not work at all with the mv5 model

This is a dud and does not work with the MV5 model. The app does not recognize the mic.

Split screen is missing

This app is almost perfect. It's only missing the split screen option so that I could start a recording while reading my texts. (I do voiceovers)

Simple & straightforward. Want Wi-Fi file transfer though

Using the Shure MVi, it's sometimes a bit glitchy because the unit turns on when the iPhone requests the microphone, which makes the app sometimes display or NOT display important app features - depending on whether the MVi decided to turn on.

Does it do this with the microphones? I'm curious.

It's a very simple app (ok with me!), but features other apps have like Wi-Fi transfer of files (using your browser on your desktop) aren't there.
