Improve your skills and become a cribbage expert! Cribbage classic has a number of settings that can help you to learn the best move for your situation and offer assistance if it notices that you are making a sub-optimal play. Or just play in fast mode where all counting is done for you and you get to simply focus on discarding and pegging. By tweaking the settings you can take this app anywhere from a lazy-thoughtless-time-waster game to a skill-sharpening-master-tutorial helping you to crush your next opponent. Statistics are also kept so you can see your average pegging score, your average hand score, and your average crib score! Also shows you a summary of all of the suboptimal plays you made at the end of the game and tracks your error rate over time so you can see yourself improving.
Cribbage Classic also has a "Discard Analyzer" bonus feature that can help you decide on the optimal discard to play given a particular cribbage hand. Analyzer shows you the minimum, maximum and average score for each permutation along with an in depth statistical analysis of all possible flip card results.

Very decent, could use some improvements
Layout and operation is smooth and intuitive. Would like to see more data on the statistics page, e.g., it tells me how many times I’ve skunked the computer, but how many times has the computer skunked me? I disagree with reviews that say the algorithm is skewed towards the computer. In fact, I’ve seen the computer make obvious card misplays that cost it major points. I have been playing the pro level thousands of times over the years with an average 55% win rate - and I’m far from being a tournament-level player.

I like it, but…
For the most part, this cribbage game is pretty good. However, I wish the dealt hands were totally random, just like a real game of cribbage. The dealt hands are definitely not random, because the computer almost always has one or more 5s - I’d say 80% of the time. Also, the computer gets more flushes than realistically possible. And the computer also wins the opening cut (for first deal) way more than half the time.

It’s so rigged against you when you play on pro. No matter what you get, they just magically get 15-20 point hands. And for any one that will just say “I’m bad” I actually enter local tournaments and for the most part, win. It’s just rigged on pro but everything else is too easy that it makes it boring

Never seen so many comebacks for a computer down 30 points. Insane multiple 24 point hand pulls in a row. Difficulty setting is just “how rigged do you want the game”

Not at all realistic
This game plays well enough for people who don’t know how to play crib. No intrusive ads. But when playing a game in Pro mode, it gives itself the most incredible hands of 16-24 points over and over again. Gets the perfect cut, over and over again. Basically, the only difference between it’s Pro mode and the other modes is that the game cheats over and over and over again. And DON’T ever put two good cards in the crib!! It’s after getting multiple 24 hands in the crib, which is practically unheard of. If you’re dealt two 5’s, two Jacks, and a 7 and 8, it’s a trap. I’m thinking there must be better crib apps out there.

Let us see the crib hand when the game is over. When someone gets 121, the game ends, but it doesn’t show the player’s hands or the crib. Obviously they don’t count and shouldn’t be counted, but for the love of god, just show it please.

Terrible. The more you win, the more the game cheats. 8 to 12 cuts before getting a low card. Repeated cribs with 0 points. Oh well. Could be worse, they could want money for this.

Unrealistic hands and flush counts
The dealings are unrealistic. The “computer” continuously gets great hands and even cribs. Got boring pretty quick.
It also counted the computer’s crib hand for 4 points for a flush - that’s not even valid! And yes I took a picture - I just wish I can upload it here!

Love this game, plus I am learning quite a bit , since it analyzes your play, and is unforgiving in its review of your play. But this is a good thing, as you learn as you go, even if you have played Cribbage many times, as I have. Also like the Discard Optimizer and the hints- more games like this, please!

Pathetic computer play
I have never in my life played against an opponent who consistently gets 16-17 point hands. Even in the crib. I have been playing crib for 45 years. The game is always won from pegging. The computer wins on runs consistently. Too bad because it’s a well put together game. But I’m done with it after about 20 games.

If you play pro the computer gets unrealistic cuts, and dealt hands consistently. For someone who has played cribbage for years this is not a realistic game

Not recommended
See other negative reviews: on easy level the game computer opponent makes silly errors. On pro, weird, not-so-random plays happen. Standard “12-pointers” happen way too regularly. Crib cuts make the computer’s low hand into an 8 or 10 pointer with surprising consistency. And then it lets you win as you seem to suddenly get 16-24 pointers with tremendous good luck. Ridiculous. Don’t waste your time.

The algorithms that are used for this game are unreal. The computer will pull hands you would never see in a real game. Pulls 20s in multiple hands in a row or even the same hand back to back. Very frustrating trying to learn the game.

Cheats
Played crib for 60 + years. As others have observed the pro level cheats. Computer did not triple for six points knowing I had the 4th card for 12 points. Gives itself 24; 16; and 12 hands too often to be ‘luck’. In the deal your optimum hand requires discards that favour the computer, and the card turned over works in favour of the computer not you. But what to do? Nice format but junk algorithm.

Would Like to Give it No Stars
I completely agree with all those here who say the computer has an unfair/unrealistic advantage. Nine times out of ten the computer will be dealt 5’s, runs, triples, etc. in addition to receiving a cut card that it can use. Meanwhile if players are ever dealt a decent hand they are usually forced to give up cards to the computer’s crib and the cut card rarely helps. Deleting the app.

Cheats like a mf
I have been playing this for a long time, over 2400 games. Almost entirely on the pro level, 2300 games. Since the last update it is now almost impossible to win. Statistically the computer should not be able to get 24 hands multiple times a game, nor should it be able to double my hand and pegging points almost every game. It also seems to not play logically. It passes on pegging points then plays cards that that logically it shouldn’t have by the way it plays. It used to be great, challenging you not to make mistakes. Now it’s almost impossible to win. Time to delete an find something else.

On the pro setting the computer will routinely deal itself 85 points or more. You also can’t play any friends which would be nice. I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone. Very unsatisfied blatant cheating by the computer.

Too rigged and predictable..
The computer generally gets the cut it needs and stacks the crib.. not realistic enough…not random enough. The computer also often challenges the player by dealing a four and two sequence..predicting the two obvious will be discarded.
Looking for a more honest and natural game of crib.

Pro mode favours the App
I'm a good crib player but I only have a 21% win percentage against the Pro mode. It always gets good hands, meanwhile I get dealt squat. I out-peg it consistently and it's not very good at pegging. Still, it beats me with 12, 14 and 16 point hands far more often than normal odds would allow.
Nice interface but I'm deleting it.

Not a good pro game
The game is great for novice, but for experienced players it’s terrible. The games idea of pro is that the app get a mirrored hand of yours almost every time so that it can peg high points. The cut is always a great cut for the app. Your discards for the app crib is always great for it. You’ll get dealt the same hand several times. If it was a human you were playing against you would accuse them of cheating. Pro setting should be random hands, but the app makes no mistakes pegging or discarding with the highest percentage.

Pro lvl is heavily weighted against you.
The randomness of pro level is questionable and certain stats could shed some light on this.I like this game, but pro lvl is a conundrum and frustratingly lucky, rather than skilled,I mean what are the odds of the AI getting 27 straight 12 +pt hands and after 300 games the AI has eighty eight 20+pt hands and I have 11??But it is free with very discreet ads so enjoy.

Make it realistic
I agree with the many comments with play in pro. Very unrealistic and not encouraging to play. The computer is in control I have played this many times and had 0 mistakes still lost. The only reason I have stayed is the great layout and graphics that could change soon.
I think you have heard enough comments on this topic. Change the computer to random dealing. You will keep the ones you have and gain more.

Highly disappointing
I’ve been playing this game for quite a while and I can say with confidence that the deck is stacked against you. 9/10 times the computer has just the “right” card to play. When pegging you're almost guaranteed to lose but overall you're losing regardless of how good you are in real life. A few times I've followed their hints to which I got less points than so-called “predicted”. The amount of 16+ point hands the computer has had is astonishing while I'm getting 4 maybe 6 points. I highly doubt its all randomized. I think the computer scans your cards and the cards you discard and plays according to that because theres no way after 152 games played I'm only winning 40% where as in real life its more like 65-70 win percentage. Its disappointing cause I love playing crib but this isn't right to say the least.

Waste of time
Game at Pro level is not believable. I am an excellent crib player, sometimes you lose two or three games in a row in a game with real players if the deck is against you, but not 5 or 6 straight, and are out pegged 3 or 4 to 1 as in this simulation. I think this is the same company that does the Hearts game. Same issue,(deals are not believable) and now that I have complained I will lose every game, as happened with Hearts, therefore game will be deleted.

Garbage. Pro is ridiculous. Can be up by 40 pts with 2 hands to play and get beat on the last count with les than 2 pts out on analysis. Pro should not mean a stacked deck.

Game Rigged
Started keeping track of the hands dealt to app after noticing it kept getting huge point hands more often then me. Across 50 games there was a 6 to 1 ratio of favourable hands ie. double runs worth 16 or more, dealt to the app. Also convinced app plays cards other than what was dealt to it. Have never won more than 3 games in a row. Every time I do the next win goes to app.

Absolutely unrealistic dealing
The computer gets points, and often big points every deal, and almost never gets dealt crap cards whereas the player is dealt garbage frequently. This algorithm is junk. Waste of time and no enjoyment.

The fix is in!
I used to really like playing this game. Lately I find it hard to believe that there is any randomness to the cards that are dealt to the pro. The last two games I played I had one hand with more than 10 points and the pro had one hand with less than 10 points. This happens regularly. I know after the first hand if I’ll win or not. Might be deleting this app soon.

Frustrating game. Obvious cards dealing is absolutely not random. « Increasing difficulty level » only makes the oppinent luckier instead of better AI decisions, that is a bad/lazy design.

Computer consistently gets cuts, multiple 5s, and double runs with 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Only chance of winning is through pegging and crib. Will almost always end game with having significantly more hand points than you. No way someone in real life gets hands as good as computer does consistently. Discard analyzer is great. If you want a frustrating game of crib then download this one. I’m going to try another.
