the actual game is fine, like connecting the dots and stuff super fun even with the mildly annoying levels. why are there so many freaking pop ups and side quests that they force you to do?????? i just wanna connect these useless little dots, why are you making me go on a scavenger hunt and showing thirteen different pop ups before i get to click on the next level?? like holy guacamole please leave me alone. i like the game but the app design is so ssa

Coupons are awful
This game used to be great. It had a nice interface, pretty graphics, and fun bonus incentives. Now, when you get free boosters like 5 mins of free swaps per game, you end up with maybe 3 minutes because you’re constantly prompted to try side games or open up coupons that seem useless. It constantly glitches with all the busy bells and whistles that take away from playing the match game. Must have been sold to a bigger company that just wants to make you spend money in game without any flow of real play. I doubt it’ll be changed. It will continue to be awful, like all the other match games that do the same schtick. Zero finesse. A total bummer.

Too many pop ups!!
I remember playing this game almost 10 years ago and loved the simplicity of the game and the cute visual design. BUT now when I open it I’m met with pop up after pop up of new features or side quests or rewards. I deleted it today after going through 13 pop ups when all I wanted to do was play the main game. I appreciate that they’re still adding new levels to keep the game interesting for people who’ve been playing for years but it’s a very frustrating user experience when it takes 2 minutes just to start playing.

This used to be my favourite game.
Two Dots was fun for a long time, but it’s deteriorated into a game designed on frustrating you until you spend money. I was loyal, I DID spend money here and there to indulge, and in exchange they took away bonus games, they took away the bonus boxes I used to get every evening. It was made for fun before, now it’s made to profit off of you. Skip it, there are better games out there now.

2025-12 Update: Enjoyable game, but I need to tap through frustrating pop-ups for more than a minute every day
2024-10 Updated: Ads are starting to “steal sound” which means I can no longer listen to podcasts while playing this game without needing to unpause every minute. Rapidly becoming a dealbreaker.
2024-08 Update: Ads at the top of the screen are awful. I will pay to get rid of these, or I might stop playing this otherwise-masterpiece.
Definitely one of the best relaxing/thoughtful distressing games I’ve ever played. Recently kiboshed by frustrating ads that are honesty below Two Dots’ impeccable quality (though I know you gotta pay the bills, I get that). Frustratingly the ads don’t follow the app’s rules for sound and music, so when my partner and I are trying to relax with some ‘Dots and music or podcasts, the ads are really getting in the way now. 😩 Otherwise top-notch five star game. Keep up the great work!

Still playing but it’s gone downhill
I’ve been playing this game since it began, I still like it, but it’s definitely gotten worse. I had to install an adblocker because one of my favourite things was not being bombarded with ads, and the banners on every level made the game lag. I understand apps need to profit but it was always so nice to finally have a game that didn’t make me watch ads of some starving mother holding her kid in a snowstorm. The levels are way harder which is nice in some ways, but when you’re playing a game for fun, it shouldn’t take a week of numerous attempts a day to win a harder level. At that point it becomes a frustration, not a fun challenge. The bonus boxes also rarely give the best result anymore (the drops that make all the dots the same colour)
Again, still enjoy the game in a lot of ways but I wouldn’t recommend it to others like I used to in the past.

Unplayable
I’ve been playing this game for at least a decade now and it’s become impossible to play. I opened it today and had 10 popups before I could play a single level. Regular levels cannot be won without boosts. I now only do the first two levels of the scavenger hunt - I used to buy coins to play the whole thing (what’s a few bucks for the years of enjoyment this game used to provide?) but now that the app is so infuriating, they won’t even get that.

i know thats a bizarre criticism but when you open the game theres like 8 popups of new quests or events or promotions to buy coins that you have to click out of to play the game. at this point there is enough side content to just make a new game out of it... i tried to go back to playing this game after falling off a while ago and it's soo different
this game is also guilty of the thing where the levels get too hard on purpose and they're almost impossible to win without powerups. this is common with all games like this but its still Bad. i tried to reset my game so i could start from the beginning and actually feel like im progressing but there isn't any option for this in the app...

Unplayable now
I’ve been playing for years, but with each subsequent update the game has become more unplayable until the most recent. If you don’t pass a level on the first try, there’s no chance of passing it without using tons of boosters and coins and even then, you will no longer get enough moves to pass a level. The most moves I’ve had recently is 16 moves for an ultra hard. It seems that if you pass a level on the first try, the game is now designed to lower the amount of moves it gives you pass the next. It’s garbage.

I downloaded this game based on recommendations from Reddit for a similar game to another I was playing. First couple of days it was okay, but now whenever I open the game it spams pop ups and tries to make you visit their website to claim a present. You have to close around 8-12 stupid pop ups to even try to play the actual game it’s so ridiculous. I’ve deleted it. So money hungry it’s insane.

Since the most recent update, there are banner ads playing at the top of your screen while you’re playing a game and it suddenly starts blasting music that you cannot mute. I usually listen to music or podcasts while playing my games so it makes it unplayable

The game is great. It is challenging. Love the scavenger hunts. They do get a bit expensive though if you want to complete them to get the rewards and the badges.
Plus any ads I’ve seen for this game are completely false. The games featured are not in the actual game play. So if you are hoping to put colours in a circle properly don’t bother.
Otherwise a decent game for the brain.

Once charming now trashy
I’ve been playing this game for almost 10 years and it used to be charming, engaging and incredibly fun. Now, every-time I open it, I’m accosted by a new pop up, side quest or money grab. Who in this lifetime would be able to complete all these missions or collect all the tokens? I wonder if the developers even have a clue what’s happening in their game anymore. DO NOT DOWNLOAD unplayable ad-fest
I was addicted to this game six years and have spent more money than I care to think about on extra lives and power ups. I instantly deleted it now that they’ve made the decision to make the entire game a constant ad fest. It’s one thing to let players watch ads for extra lives, but embedding ads into the game itself makes it completely unplayable and not worth the storage space it takes on my phone. I never thought I’d be this disappointed in app developers but I honestly expected better of them and an disappointed to see them sell out so completely.

I’ve been playing Two Dots for years. Currently on level 4846. But today banner ads started showing up in the actual game, making it impossible to focus. I can’t play anymore. I don’t mind ads after the game or ads for more lives, but flashing ad banners while trying to play? Ridiculous. I’m sad I can’t play anymore unless these are removed.

Disappointed by ads
I’ve been playing Two Dots since the game was released in 2014. I’ve always enjoyed it and thought it was a very well crafted game. I’m disappointed and annoyed by the ads that have now been playing in the game. Two Dots was always ad free (unless opting in to watch for a prize), so this feels like a major downgrade for what was one of the highest quality free iPhone puzzle games.

Have had this game for couple years and played from time to time. It was enjoyable maybe 4 years ago… Besides them adding more and more pop-up “pay to get here or to get that” windows everywhere, now they added the classic adds that start after each game and you cannot skip it.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that there are now breaks for ads in between levels, which are annoying but manageable, now there is a banner ad during the actual game! That’s too much. It’s very distracting as they change over all the time and really reduces the enjoyment and relaxation of playing. Please just make a version that can be purchased without the incessant ads. This used to be one of my favourite games, but it’s basically ruined now by the banner ads. Very disappointing.

Take-Two has ruined this game.
I used to love this game. There were ads, but they use to be “watch this to get a boost” kind of thing. There were micro transactions to help the game and developers. Recently I have noticed that ads are now very much in your face. Interrupting game play. When i searched playdots (the original developer) I found out they sold out to TakeTwo. I won’t be playing this anymore. Sad sad state of games on iOS these days.

Five star game
I love this game it has everything one wants in a casual play game, however, I have started to see ads in other games for Two Dots and they are those stupid ads that show a totally different game from the actual game. Why do companies keep making these misleading ads? Why do you think that you need to lie to people about how your game is? You have a good game don’t lie about it and mislead people to download it. When I see these ads I assume your games a scam and it gets deleted. It’s a shame, I really enjoyed the years of playing.

The designers overhauled this game around 01 mar 23 to insert long boring adds into the game. You’re forced to watch them and there’s no reward once they’re finished (except that you’re allowed to play again).

Going downhill
I’ve been playing for years, gotten to level 4450 (in addition to all the side quests and hunts), and have never ever spent a single penny of real money. So it is possible, despite what other reviews say.
My issues are with ads getting progressively more annoying and longer over time, plus super loud without the option to mute (I play while listening to podcasts, which the ads interrupt). Secondly, the game crashes more and more often right after I pass a level. It’s starting to happen every 3-4 levels now, where the whole thing just suddenly shuts down and I’m back to my home screen and when I open it again, my progress and passing is gone. Super frustrating.
I used to really enjoy this simple, cute, peaceful, and colourful game, but it’s getting worse over time. Perhaps I’m expecting too much from something I’ve never spent money on? It might’ve time to delete it since I’m not playing it as often due to these frustrations. Oh well, was fun while it lasted.

Ive had this game for quite a while, it’s even ridiculous that you have to pay money to advance in the scavenger hunts.

Going downhill fast
I loved this game so much when I started playing a year ago. Fun concept, excellent design, good game. It used to be that the ‘check in’ or level winning prizes - WERE ACTUALLY PRIZES YOU COULD KEEP and use on later levels - now - there’s this aspect where the ‘prizes’ you win are only given to you for 15 min and then expire. So you NEVER win anything to help you. Even the ‘shufflers’ don’t shuffle to give a square anymore. Nothing-no erasers, no colour pops, nothing to assist lasts longer than the 15 minute window you are graciously given to use your own damn prizes that you earned, and then get told how you can use them. Seriously debating deleting this because it’s changed into a waste of my time.

Disappointing changes to rewards
This used to be my favorite game, but not anymore. Really dislike the change to time limited rewards. Why change something that works? It looks to me like you want the user to start paying for rewards. I’ll stop playing this game before I will ever purchase something the game used to provide.

I’ve stopped playing the game because you changed the reward system. It used to be that you could build up a reserve of items to help you. Now - it’s all timed. Boo.

Scavenger Hunt
The scavenger hunts are the best part of this app, but lately they aren't nearly as challenging, which is really disappointing. The items are hardly even hidden now. They're just sitting in wide open spaces and they don't even blend in to the background at all. I'd love to see the former, more challenging, scavenger hunts as a separate app.

Scavenger hunt is my fave
Love this game. My favourite are the scavenger hunt ones that appear on occasion. Please consider making a downloadable game that’s just those. I would pay to play that! So relaxing and fun. I can’t find anything similar to them on the App Store.

Watch out for double purchase scam!
Yup! That's right. SCAM. If you plan to play the game be aware of the fact that in-app purchases that are doubled seconds from each other. I have contacted the developer MONTHS ago about this issue - they are well aware of it, at this point the glitch is not a glitch but a fully intended scam getting double money from the players. Shame on you!!

Amazing game
Don’t listen to those calling this game a ‘cash grab’. It is as free as you want it to be. I have been playing this game for years and have not needed to spend any money to get past levels. It is fun and wholesome and quite amazing for a free game!

Used to love this game
It crashes nonstop now and tries to force you down rabbit holes of games and features that you can’t skip. I just want to play Two Dots (amazing); not spend time trying to find my way back to it because of all the extras they force you to see.

Would be fun, if not for the constant micro transactions
I take serious issue with any game where you are given a set amount of lives and, if you lose them all, you either have to wait several hours or spend money to continue playing. This is made even worse by the fact that some levels are seemingly impossible without buying bonuses and power ups. This isn’t really a game - it’s just a cash grab.

What happened?
This game has become unbearable. Ads aren’t a problem but the constant pop up menus asking you to spend money and time on side quests have no pay off and are just another money grab. This game used to be so simple and calming and it’s the complete opposite now.

Really enjoyable.
I really enjoy this app. Have been playing for about a year. Now At level 1535. Without ever spending a penny on the offers of special tools or gold coins. Yes I open two dots every day to get a ‘gift’ and play the expeditions on tuesdays to get more gifts. But otherwise it’s a great way to challenge your brain for thirty minutes. Or less. You run out of ‘lives’ quickly if you can’t solve the level. So you can go back to the real world having had an interesting mental break. Just make squares ! 😀❤️🇨🇦👍
