Difficult to use
It was a lengthy process to get approved to send money and you are asked a lot of personal questions. Other apps do not do this, like world remit. It also just took forever and required talking to a human. Not very efficient...seems like this app is still very much an early stage startup. Also very difficult for Canadians because our debit cards don't have expiry dates or numbers at the back. So it's very inconvenient. I wish you all the best but you gotta work out these kinks and inconveniences. I'm sorry to say i also decided to use world remit and it took less than 5 mins to send money 🤷🏼♀️

Rate almost 10% lower than current exchange price but claims not to have any fees? This clearly a LIE and misinformation. How is this even legal?

Hello WAVE , i have been your customer for the past 4 yrs , I don’t want to loose you guys. My humble request is that please can you accept the credit Visa card , we use Visa credit cards than Debit . The moment you you will accept the visa credit card , we shall rejoice , my 10 friends are using wave , and because they have credits cards and you don’t accept , they may move back to world . Please for you to retain your customers we humble request to look on our issue. But so far wave is the best compare to others , 💕💕

Worst customer service
So I was told this was a good app to send money to Africa. I downloaded it and put in my info and i had to wait to get verified. I called customer service and it rang for about 20 mins and hang up. i did this twice and also requested a call back. No one got back to me. I got a message saying i could text which i tried and i got no reply.
I definitely would not recommend this to anyone. i ended up using world remit which worked within 5 mins without sending my Drivers license or passport information

Too slow to approve new accounts
I wanted to send money to my sister through my fiancé but we had to answer lots of security questions.The approval process for a new wave account takes long. We ended up using World Remit.

Not ready for business
I used the app only a couple of times and it seemed great. Without warning, my account was placed “under review” and, after two days and three different answers from Customer Service, I am now told that my access is blocked because of alleged “suspicious activities.” Now I am told that it will take “at least a couple of weeks” for Wave to complete their review of the whopping $1,485 that I have transferred through their app. Meanwhile, Wave has my personal information (including a scan of my driver license) and I know nothing about them. I am uninstalling the app and hoping that I didn’t misplace my trust by signing up with Wave in the first place.

Not working on Canadian bank
I’m with Desjardins and they don’t provide CVC. In addition, my card start with 4540 and it’s recognized as a credit card. Finally it put automatically USA as country, it’s impossible to change to Canada and, therefore, impossible to enter Canadian postal code. It’s been months I wrote to them with no changes at all. Better use WU instead or WordRemit.
