I re-installed the app and restarted my phone multiple times and I still can’t go through a doc without crashing after a few seconds of opening it. I have background refresh enabled too.

Lots of problems
For mobile, when I turn in the work, it doesn’t respond correctly, so I have to delete the app and redownload it over, and over, and over again, same when I un-turn it in, it doesn’t respond and it like.. freezes I guess? The other problem is: I accidentally pressed the sticker button and I couldn’t access the doc anymore. (Please tell me how to fix this, the deadline for my work is very soon.)

Please add support for multi window
iPad OS had allowed one program to open multi window for a long time. This is very helpful for writing docs because we often need to see other docs as references while writing. So please add this feature, it will be a great improvement.

on mobile iOS, consider switching the format & font color selector tool button placement UI buttons or make setting to allow these to be swapped as a GUIPref. Businesses more likely to change fonts than select color for text.

I have no clue how google docs computer version and this are related
Here are all the cons:
- Font changes every time you space
- you can’t select a piece of text
- hard to navigate
- needs wifi (even though it says it doesn’t)
- pages are SUPER SMALL (I’d say about 3x smaller than computer version)
- no autocorrect
- lack of features
Pros:
- can choose from plenty of templates
Honestly, I’d say notes is way better than google docs by a mile.

I used to love this app, but. . .we need some organization over here. Folders, something. I’ve a long list of files all jumbled together, old stuff I’m keeping for history’s sake mixed with new stuff I’m actively working on, it’s a mess and I hate it. Also, you got rid of the explore tab? I loved that thing! It’s such a nuisance having to leave the app to do a quick search and then going back, only to find it’s kicked me back to the home page and I have find my file again, scroll back to my spot. . .its all very chaotic. Manage this - erm, well mischief doesn’t seem the right word here, but I’m sure you get the meaning.
And no, throwing the Google drive app into the mix isn’t going to help so don’t say it.

It’s easy to use, and it’s not glitchy and I haven’t discovered any difficulties with using it, etc. You can find the tools super easy and make you’re story unique by adding photos and different fonts! I would recommend to use this for presentations, work purposes, etc.

Very easy to use. I miss the explore feature, though, because it’s nice to have a search function built into the app. It might be a glitch, but I really hope that you haven’t taken it out. The app also glitches and crashes when i try to use the find and replace function. Please fix this!

Great, but very slow
I used to love this app. Free, easy to use, checked off multiple boxes for everything I could want from MS Word. HOWEVER, if you are writing a large document for work, it will start to type at a snail’s pace. It was faster typing on any other app than Google Docs, with one letter appearing in the document almost every second. You have to move the cursor to another line and highlight a paragraph? It will move just as slowly, crawling up the entire way.
The method I use to get around this is to close the document, and restart the app; but it only works for an hour or so before the slow typing happens again. Restarting my IPad doesn’t help either. This shouldn’t be such a trial, literally extending my time working just to restart the app this often.

this is an amazing app and i love writing my stories on it. it’s easy to save and has so many cool features. one thing that would be cool to add is where you can group together documents. like you can have folders where you sort documents into them, and label them to find them easier. anyways, a great app and i cant wait to keep using it!

I use google docs all the time, but within the last year it’s been having tons of issues. Not saving my work so when I go back it’s deleted. Not connecting so half the time my docs don’t even show up in the main page. Etc

This app is horrible compared to the web version. Don’t even bother with this and just use the web version. This is nearly unusable. Not compatible with floating or slide to type keyboards.

Slowest app on the planet
Whenever I use the app there’s a huge lag between when I type the words and when they actually appear on my screen, so much so that it renders the app practically useless. Please fix this. (Note: this has nothing to do with my connection as I can stream Netflix at high quality with no lags on the exact same wifi, which I tested when docs was lagging so it’s not that my wifi was bad only when I used documents either)

Still no way to insert line breaks.
There is still no way to do what every other text-editing capable app on iPadOS and MacOS have been able to do forever, which is insert a line break by hitting shift+ENTER (or any other way). You can do this on a web-based version of Google Docs on any platform (except iOS and iPadOS) and you can do this in Pages, Notes, etc. Line breaks are as fundamental as a hard return. It boggles my mind that Google still hasn’t gotten around to adding them.

Links from email don’t work
Every time I get a link to a google docs file in my email, it goes to the app download on my iPhone - despite the fact that i already downloaded lodes google docs. Then when I click open it opens google docs but not the file. So I basically can’t use it on my iPhone.

What's the fuss about?
Google docs is equivalent to MSWord.
Google sheets is equivalent to MS Excel.
They can be stored and collaboratively edited on google drive. The google doc app for a smartphone let's you view and edit docs on that device, not the best place to do that but better than not being able to do it. In my experience, docs, sheets, and drive work quite smoothly across devices. So what are people complaining about? No superscripts? No chemical formulas? Really? That's an issue for most people?

We use Google Docs for pretty much all schoolwork, and its great that we can work on it at school, and at home on your personal devices. Its also nice that we don't need Wi-Fi to edit or create documents. I love this, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially students and teachers!
