Description
FLO is the leading electric vehicle (EV) public charging stations network in Canada. With the FLO mobile application, take control of your EV charging sessions by:
• Using public FLO charging stations as soon as the application has been installed on your mobile phone
• Signing up with FLO to have access to all member advantages including regular member usage fees, or pay on an as-needed basis by credit card, without signing up.
• Transfer funds to your member account and benefit from charging credits at all times
• Verify the availability of charging stations and their usage fee on a geographical map
• Find nearby charging stations or find those near a given location
• Start a charging session on a selected station
• Remotely track progress of a charging session

Rip Off
Very easy to set up an account, but they ask you to deposit money into an account before you can start using it!... ok ...
Here is what I don’t like!
They are charging you more for a level two charger than anyone else for a level 3 charger. Standard rates I have seen on a level 3 DC fast charger are .35/kWh. This company charges .41/kWh. Not really a bad thing, but this rate is for there level 2... level two chargers usually don’t even charge for use in any location. They hide it by saying that they charge $2.00/hour. But doing the math when the bill arrived shows the slow rate of charge and total charge...
Now their level 3 fast charger.... WTF OVER $20.00/HOUR! And it’s not that fast! It would cost me, based on rate any time calculations about $38.00 to charge full an 85D. That’s what I would pay for Gas in Alberta to go 400km...
canceled my account, dropped the app and plan to never ever, ever using these guys again. I would sooner push my car down the road than plug into this money sucking device. Oh and the icing on the cake. After you finish a session and they are giving you a play by play of how much you have allowed them to take, they add service charges and TAX on top of the $2/hr level 2...... WTF

Broken for Flo X5 home
The app has been broken for a while for my Flo X5 home, which is disappointing considering the extra amount paid for the “smart” charging station. I cannot see anymore my active sessions, nor see the station. App prints “error” instead.

Please add new features.
Time to get your app updated to this century. Can you please add a notify feature so that user can be notified when a desired station (or group of) become available. Tired of having to open app every 30 min to check. Pretty easy programming....just saying.

Worst EV Charging I’ve Ever Used
Terrible app and network. The app is non functional when there are “gateway” problems, it seems everyday these problems occur. When you call for support you are told that the gateway fix will be approximately 24hrs. They also tell you that you can avoid this by ordering a $15 card.
Find other apps and another network.

CarPlay Compatible, GPS Accuracy & UI/UX issues
- Please make the app CarPlay compatible
- Design does not respect the iPhone X / notch guidelines
- GPS not always accurate
- The default zoom on the map is not ok to quickly see the nearest stations. A manual zoom is usually required.

Improve or fail
Showed up to a Flo charging station with a near empty battery. Downloaded the app , entered my info, added money to a card which I assumed was virtual like the ChargePoint app. Oh no, I need to order a physical card in order to use the Flo station. Get with the times Flo and innovate or watch your company die. Terrible business. Listen to your customers you losers.

FLO ‘strongly suggest you to order a ($15) access card’ because there are many stations that can’t be started through the app. Seems like something fishy is going on with Canada’s leader in EV charging.

This app is completely useless and I wonder why the company bothers with a phone app at all. How do I get my money back on the account?

No way to use the app without a card?
I paid money into a profile but then had no way to actually use it through the app on my phone...there doesn’t seem to be a “virtual card” to use...which would make the most sense. So if there is a card to use through the app please let me know because I can’t use the money I paid into this product.

Needs some improvements
Can you add notifications on cell phone for home based station.
Can you add option of charging from home station for one, two and 3 hours. This is useful for cars without the ability to stop charging at 80 or 90%. This is a very useful to decrease the battery degradation each time it is charged to 100%
I do not think it is difficult to add those feature for those who paid extra to buy the 5x model. Thanks

Recent update broke “My Stations”
A recent update broke “My Stations”. Instead of showing previously saved favourite stations, it just shows “An error occurred”. Very frustrating, it’s been like this for at least a couple months. Also agree with another reviewer that there should be a refresh button on the My Stations page. When it WAS working, the only way to refresh was to go to some other page and then back to My Stations - not very well thought bout UI.

Frustrating to use, prompts for cc info even when station is free
This app is not intuitive, support is slow and it prompted me for my cc info and to load money. As I was at a busy station I did this only to find after that the station I was at was free to charge. Support refuses to refund my money back to my credit card or transfer me to billing. You have to send an email to ask for reimbursement. Login also required personal information such as birth year which is mandatory but irrelevant.

Pourquoi est-ce qu'on ne voit plus la puissance de la charge sur les bornes personnelles?!
Je paie cher pour une X5 et je ne suis plus en mesure de savoir si ma charge est terminée à partir de l'application.
C'est bien de vouloir intégrer le réseau public dans la même app, mais 95% de l'utilisation est pour la borne personnelle et pourtant elle prend peu de place dans l'app!

Better to charge at home.
App is buggy and has issues with the GPS. The rates being charged by Flo are highway robbery. I would only ever use it if it was a life and death situation. 20 dollars an hour plus tax for a rapid charge. C'mon son.

Can’t say it’s the worst app out there. But who in the earth can’t figure out how to write proper code so the app can scroll up and down that ppl can choose one from multiple stations? This app can’t.

The new version wiped my favourite stations and that’s not the first time it did that... Could you please fix your updates?
A nice feature would be to add a refresh button that page too, now I always have to go to another page and come back to fav stations to update their charge status. Thanks!

Lente, et pertes des favoris à la maj
L’application est d’une lenteur pour afficher la carte l’accès au GPS de l’iPhone sûrement. Nouvelle maj et perte des favoris ainsi que la maj de la position GPS ineffective après quelques kilomètres. Le plan est toujours zoom out sur l’Amérique du Nord à l’ouverture. Le seul point positif est la compatibilité du réseau, mais rien à voir avec l’application vraiment au niveau d’une bêta et pourtant avec si peu de fonctions...

Mobile Card Never Works!!
I have never been able to get the mobile card to work. Every time I encounter one of these stations it’s a struggle to somehow get it to work. All the FLO stations near me also do not charge so there is no need for me to order the physical card, and I do not want to anyway as the charge is $15!! ChargePoint uses a much better system with the apple wallet card, why not do that here?!

No ability to tap iPhone wallet or app!
Unlike ChargePoint FLO app only allows you to reload a physical card. Unfortunately it can take weeks to receive the reload or card. ChargePoint uses Apple wallet a virtual card that I use for VISA or ChargePoint to directly tap and charge. So far I could only use Flo by calling the customer support to unlock the charging station.

Update no better
The app now opens with a map of Quebec rather than localized where to where live in BC. No where on the app is there a contact telephone number for assistance. Chargepoint and Flo are now related but chargepoint fobs dont work on flow chargers or vice versa. I use the app regularly but recently in a mall parking garage deep underground the app of course doesnt work. You need the card which i havent used in years and cant find.

App breaks down more than it works! They need a phone tap authorization like ChargePoint, these guys couldn’t even authorize a charge via phone when the app was down

From bad to worse
Not a week goes by that I don't have to call this company to actually release the station to pay to use it. Half the time the app say there is no connection. The other half the process is so slow it takes 10 minutes. The answer from this company is use the card...that write an old plastic card.way to save the environment. In a time where everyone is going digital I am told to use a physical card.
Today is the last draw. The network is down, the put in a ticket. They cannot contact me to let me know when I can plug in my car to charge.
Lastly, the service is awful. Everytime I call I am interrupted before I can finish speaking.

Unfortunately not a competitor to ChargePoint.
The app fails more often then not. Requires re login randomly. Ridiculous RFiD card pricing. Doesn’t work with wallet as Chargepoint does.
Until they give free cards or allow iPhone wallet registration or allow other RFiD cards to be registered to the account I’m avoiding them and searching for a Chargepoint station.

There needs to be a wallet app. Ridiculous to have to have a physical card and pay for it as well. It works well enough but lacks features. Prefer chargepoint. Also often finds these stations iced.

Good but in dire need for an update
Good app, but would greatly benefit for an update:
- designed for iPhone X
- compatible with Car Play
- that fixes bugs when searching an address
- etc.

Lack of NFC is inconvenient
Not having tap capabilities on the FLO app makes it a bit archaic (ChargePoint has NFC). What’s worse is that FLO is charging $15 to get a plastic card as the salt to the wound...ouch

L’application est exactement la même que celle du circuit électrique... Elle semble sortir des années 90. Non optimisé pour les derniers iPhone, ne prends pas en charge le Wallet...
