GiveBlood is the official app of Canadian Blood Services. This app makes it easy for donors in Canada (excluding Quebec) to book, manage and keep track of their donations on the go. Users can locate their nearest donor centres and confirm their donation appointment with ease and efficiency.

Amazing

This app makes it so easy to give blood! The abilities to make appointments, add them to your calendar, complete the questionnaire, and use the app as your donor card are very useful and work flawlessly! Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to give blood!

The app makes booking an appointment easy, but there’s more than that. The starts of donations help track the length of time of donations and iron levels, which is handy for those who have a history is low levels.

Great app!

This is a very powerful and functional app that makes managing my donations super easy. It’s intuitive and user-friendly and also provides cool stats like bleed time and hemoglobin for previous appointments. It contains all your donor information so is all you need - no card to carry around, nothing to remember in your head. Really impressed with this app!

Impossible

I can’t login, says my email doesn’t exist, try to create a account and then it says my account is already in use. I can reset my password, login or book an appointment - frustrating to say the least!

Love this Canadian Blood Services app

This app is so easy to use. It makes booking my appointments seamless, and since I believe that giving blood is something every able-bodied person should do, this app just makes it that much easier. I feel great that this is one thing, one hour of the day every 2 months-ish, I can do to help people. And you get cookies... win-win!! 😃

Open more part time clinics!

I’m in swift current for work and often in smaller places for work I think giving blood is great and have no problem doing it. My problem is you have YouTube adds radio adds all these adds of how we need it more then ever. Yet your not open on Sundays my only day off the closest option to go is 250 km away and I can’t even call to see if a clinic is coming to swift current or even Moose Jaw because your phone line is just an automated machine. You can’t talk to anyone booking appointments takes two times as long and I feel like I’m dealing with computers not people. What’s next robots that take your blood and replace the workers job? At least if that happened you could possibly have clinics open once a week in rural areas? All I know is I want to give blood and you make me feel guilty I’m not but you make it near impossible for me to do so.

Cannot log in or create account

I thought I had an account so I tried to log in. The app said wrong username/password. So I tried to reset my password. Then the app said no account exists with this email. So I went to create an account with that email address. Then the app said this account has already been created. Useless!

Changes for app

It should allow the donor to change address if they have moved. You need more permanent donations centres cause this would make it easier to donate and more nurses to man the donation centres.

Your computer system and app continue to be frustrating and sub par. Very frustrating with the number of times my pre appointment questionnaire gets lost on your system, and the number of glitches cause concern for privacy on the site

All my info in one place

I like this app as it shows me everything I’m interested in seeing. I’m able to use this app to complete my questionnaire before arrival and it also replaces my physical card. I like seeing how many donations I have and when my next appointment is. I prefer using the desktop site for appointment booking but it can easily be done from the app. Thumbs up!

Search criteria isn’t good

Not a fan of the booking system. Can’t look at upcoming dates if you’re already booked within the next 56 days. Also, doesn’t display hours mobile clinic are open, or exclude if it’s fully booked. Can’t shrink the search radius to a reasonable distance. Not as useful as they intended.

I can’t book an appointment after cancelling one so I can reschedule. I always have to contact the blood service personally and that works every time. Otherwise it’s great.
