In spite of the previous cyberattack, I’m still using it against better judgement but it’s a garbage app none the less. In spite of constant updates, most functions give me the Something went wrong on our end making it impossible to both collect points or pay for gas. A garbage app for a garbage, overpriced fuel supplier with even worse stations.

It’s a poorly designed app! It took 2 pre-authorized payments of a $100 each from my credit card and the pump was no activated both times. I spent an hour on the phone but it was never resolved. Accept for an apology, they have no solutions. Try the Esso app. You won’t regret it.

I have never been able to get this app to work. It either won’t load or when it does the arrow just spins endlessly. I spoke with the attendant at one station and he says that many people are having problems with it. I guess I will just keep going to Shell. My Shell app works perfectly every time.

When trying to log in, the app will only work if my phone is on wifi. The minute I switch to data, it gives me an error message that I need to switch my internet connection. I've tried several times switching back and forth and it will only work when on wifi. I only found this out after hot spotting my own phone while I was in line for a car wash using another phone.
Not sure if this is some new tactic to scam customers but what a ridiculous and frustrating experience. Please fix this app.

This app is one of the worst apps that I have ever used. When Petro Canada underwent a cyber attack, it took them months to restore this (I have the annual car wash pass). On some days, there is no issue with logging in to the app but when I get into the line at the car wash and use the app to access my annual car wash pass, it says that there is an error over and over again, thus holding up the line. Many others were held up as well. Some of the gas stations even close their car wash without any notice at all. The more appalling thing is that several Petro Canada car wash centres do not even allow us to use the annual car wash pass because it’s not app-compatible. What a complete waste of time and money. Overall, this app was absolutely disappointing and is a downright embarrassment.

The app itself is actually pretty nice. It’s cool to be able to do everything from the app. I only added one credit card to the app - my RBC card to continue getting the 3 cent discount but when paying through the app even though my RBC account is charged, there is NO discount. Very annoying. Until this is fixed I won’t be using the app.

Switch to Esso. The Petro-Canada app has failed to work for several months now. People have lost their previous car washes and contactless payment method and they are livid. I expected Petro-Canada to quickly rebound and fix the issues from when they got hacked, but I guess not lol. Switch to a real petrol and car wash service company like Esso. I made the switch to Esso and have never been happier - no issues whatsoever from them!

Every time when using app, can’t sign in right away with finger print or facial recognition. One has to sign in Again using email and password. Once updating app have to generate new password in order to sign in. Extremely inconvenient when you just want to fill up. Waste of time. And password requirement is complicated. If you can’t make up a password right away, can’t fill up. I’m giving up Petro-Canada from now on and just use esso instead. Their app is way simpler and less hassle.

Usually an outage or cyberattack will only take 48 hours max to restore their service but looks like they only know to make profits and not investing on secured infrastructure. The app works great when it works. Unfortunately it randomly logs you out, doesn’t remember anything, and then you’re stuck standing at the pump trying to log in so that you can pay for gas.
Update - “the developer” responded with the standard “enable touch or Face ID” answer. The last three times I’ve used this app it’s asked me to re-login and each time I’ve told it I want to use Face ID. IT DOESN’T WORK. Unfortunately “the developer” is in denial about the effectiveness of this - just look at all the othe people complaining about having to re-login constantly. Too bad they don’t listen to their users.
