The app is free for paid print subscribers. New app subscribers receive a one-month free trial. Please note that the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current subscription, and you will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current subscription. You can cancel a subscription during the free trial period through your device's account settings.

This is a free app download. Within the app users can purchase the current issue and back issues.
Subscriptions are also available within the application. A subscription will start from the latest issue.
Available subscriptions are:
12 months: CAN$17.99 / $12.99 / €13.99 / £12.99 (12 issues)*
1 month: CAN$1.49 / $0.99 / €1.99 / £0.99 (1 issue)*
*This subscription has a free trial period of 30 days. At the end of the 30 days the full price of the subscription will be charged. You may cancel a subscription during its free trial period via the subscription settings on your iTunes account. This must be done 24 hours before the end of the subscription period to avoid being charged.
-The subscription will renew automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current period. You will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, for the same duration and at the current subscription rate for the product.
-You may turn off the auto-renewal of subscriptions through your Account Settings, however you are not able to cancel the current subscription during its active period.
-Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when a subscription to that publication is purchased.
Bundles of single issues can be also be bought within the application. To use purchased credits, simply click on the issue price and select ‘use credit’. This allows you to purchase back issues at reduced prices.
Users can register for/ login to a pocketmags account in-app. This will protect their issues in the case of a lost device and allow browsing of purchases on multiple platforms. Existing pocketmags users can retrieve their purchases by logging into their account.
We recommend loading the app for the first time in a wi-fi area so that all issue data is retrieved.
If your app will not load past the splash page after a first install or an update, please delete and reinstall the app from the App Store

Pros: Content - the reason I put up with the app.
Cons: Constantly signing in - doesn't seem to remember who I am. Orientation for reading inflexible. Charging me for magazines I've already paid for and are archived?? The New Yorker doesn't do this.

This is the go-to magazine for the liberal elite in Toronto (yes, hipsters get some love too). Restaurant guide is a must read. New app isn't great, extremely slow downloads, but you are probably having your PA download for it you, so no worries ....

Upgraded, only to find a less than useful version. No pinch and zoom, inactive navigation aids, stuck pages, missing images, and on and on. Two editions with this 'new' version and will be cancelling unless, this is fixed.

This is frustrating. After entering my subscription information to register and validate for the app, it takes me to a blank screen that despite refresh and restarting the app- doesn't allow the process to complete. Looks like I'm not the only customer having this issue- fix this app Toronto life!

I have a one year subscription that I am three months in. I cannot download the current issue. It's telling me to buy or re-subscribe. When I try to sign in there's an error. When I deleted and re-downloaded the app it wouldn't let me restore my previous purchases. Fix it. Your app has issues.

I downloaded the new version of the magazine and it's not allowing me to restore my previous purchases. I'm upset as I had issues that I haven't read yet that are now lost. Also my pocket mag login no longer works either. I bought another subscription hoping that it would recognize that I already have one and it charged me again. I'm now ANGRY! Fix this ASAP please!!!
