The SPC app has good offers and has many brands available but the app itself needs improvement like needs dark mode, Better Ui looks like outdated app. Most importantly pls add ability to add to Apple Wallet!! That would be amazing pls

Unable to download app without visa debit.

I’m a college student and I can’t seem to download the app.

The app requires a payment method but when I hit continue it says the payment method is already entered and fails to download.

My digital membership is completely inaccessible & I’ve already lost three months of deals trying to resolve the issue.

I shouldn’t have to put in a payment method at all considering this app is aged 12 up.

Weird concept

I saw a store was offering this and I first thought to myself “oh heck yeah I’m a student this is great” so I took a picture to sign up later. Just to find out that you need to pay a membership fee in order to get the discounts?? So basically you aren’t saving anything unless you use it for lots of stores… just weird because broke students don’t want to pay a subscription to get a sliver discount off.

I’ve had time for the SPC just doesn’t even work in stores which other people have also written about in other reviews, but it overall is annoying because these discounts are the reasons we even choose to go to those places in the first place. Also the app is really annoying because the updates always require you to re-download it again and it makes it so that you cannot use the previous version of the app. I’m tight on storage and this is just discriminating against.

Can’t log in

I opened this app, made an account, but it turns out I have to do a email verification. That’s all right with me, but when I press “send email verification” to my Gmail it does not appear in my mailbox AT ALL. Not even in my spam I literally checked everywhere. I pressed “resend verification” and it’s STILL not in my gmail. Can’t even log on and get the rewards bruhh…

I really like this and it gets me deals but I would love for more Canadian food places to be included. I also think that some of the online savings should be in store as well because for the majority of high school students, credit cards are not available and therefore defeat the purpose of a student spc card. Love the tim’s though, really good choice of a coffee shop :)

I’m new to the app but I like what I see! I had an SPC Card back when I was in school as a kid, now I have gone back to school to become a nurse and realized I’m a student again and can use this! Excited for all the perks and having it in an app this time is great! (Don’t tell anyone but when I first had one, smart phones didn’t exist yet!)

When I went to use my card at my local Burger King and Manchu Wok place, they both told me that they don’t except the card. I wasn’t using the card with any promotion and I was clearly following the terms listed on the app. This means that the app is a fraud to students if the companies listed are not required to uphold the discount for the $11.99 I pay.

good idea bad execution

got this a few years ago when i started high school cause i thought it would apply to me but it wouldn’t accept my high school student id. everything was free though, all you had to do was add your id and you’d get all these deals but i deleted it cause i never used it.

today, i just got it again, thinking and hoping it would work now especially since i’m almost in college but now, you’ve gotta pay for an $11.99 (CAD) membership to access any of the deals, plus add your student id which may not even work.

Not useful for me unfortunately

I have had this app for about 5 months now. There hasn’t been any discounts worth it for me particularly. That’s not to say it’s not great for someone else. I gave a lower rating though because there was a sampler box that the app advertised. You then had to sign up for a sample account, give more personal information and then when I went to redeem… I wasn’t eligible. Pretty shady way to get someone to sign up for another account. I had SPC years ago and it was definitely worth it back then.

Not worth it!

They have limited amount of stores. Most of the discounts are only 10% off. Selections are boring. Food section has only 2 selections! Dont be a victim like me. I accidentally hit proceed to pay. Didnt know it was a subscription. I couldnt get a refund. This app sucks!

Save your money even if it doesn’t cost much

They really thought through every detail on how to make it impossible for the SPC members to get any discount even as little as 10%. Usually discounts are only for regular prices. Even if you find a discount on sale items and you give the barcode in the store, the manager would likely say that their store is not eligible for SPC anymore, even though they still have the “SPC available” sign everywhere. Such a rip off. Not worth at all.

Boston Pizza Offer

Hello,

I was very excited to find Boston Pizza offer of 15% so myself and two colleagues went this past Friday. I showed the waitress the offer and she referred it to her manager as she was told that the no longer honour SPC. The manager came and said yes sorry we don’t and our button is gone to be able to give 15% off food. This was very disappointing as it was really a reason why we decided to choose Boston Pizza.

This would have saved me almost $9.00 which is a great savings.

This is false advertising.

Please for others take this offer off.

Lately I have been unable to even try to log on. As soon as I open the app I get a notification that says “something went wrong” and it just loads forever. Or it tells me I need to update but then there is no update available. On the rare occasion that it gets me through it asks for my password and says my password is wrong even though it is not. And when I ask for a reset password email, no email arrives. I have been unable to even get into the app for months.
