Description

The automatic lap timer that speaks over 30 languages!
LapTracker is a motion detection-based lap timer that can be used to track runners, cyclists, cars, models, swimmers, karts, slot cars etc. The camera view has up to four adjustable detection zones that can be used to track up to four different racers. The iPhone/iPad is placed on the side of the track and laps are automatically counted, timed and spoken. Results are presented in graphical form to enable simple and straightforward comparison of participants, and can also be submitted by email for further analysis.

I use this for slot car racing!

I bought this for my teenage son. He enjoys competitive sports. He enjoys slot car racing, but was wishing he had more stats about the race (fastest time, lap timer, race start and finish sounds). This app is perfect! We just had an enjoyable afternoon of tweaking the setup and racing our slot cars.
Tips: make sure you can’t case shadows over the monitored area. We put a light directly beside the phone and that did the trick. Lots of options to tinker with! Well worth the time to make the settings perfect for your race.

Works decent with proper setup

Using to time qualifying / single vehicle best laps on an outdoor Rc course. Once a stable bridge is constructed and sensitivity is adjusted properly it works quite well. Using a Bluetooth speaker allows you to put the bridge a few feet away. Would be nice if the voice could speak the lap number as well as the lap time. If there was a way to show the results on another phone that would also be cool.

Not perfect

I tried to use this to time slotcar races, but camera rearm times don't work and the sensors won't pick up movement a third of the time. Needs a little work, good potential.
