At MBNA, we’re boringly good at credit card stuff, which doesn’t make us ideal dinner party guests, but does make people want our credit cards in their wallets.
We do it all - balance transfer credit cards, money transfer credit cards, transfer and purchase credit cards and low rate credit cards.
And our secure app is the perfect way to manage your account, whether you’re on the go or relaxing on the sofa.
SPEEDY LOGIN STUFF
- Log in quickly and securely with Touch ID, Face ID or a 3-character combination from your memorable information.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT STUFF

- Check recent transactions and pending transaction details

- Call us safely from the app – we’ll already know it’s you, so we can quickly connect you without the usual security checks.
GETTING STARTED
It’s quick and easy - just register your device and you’re good to go. For this you’ll need:
- An MBNA credit card
- An up-to-date phone number registered with us
- Your username and password (you can create these in the app if you’re new to MBNA).

CONTACTING YOU
We won't contact you any more than normal if you use the app. But please stay alert for emails, text messages or phone calls that appear to be from us. Criminals may try to trick you into giving them sensitive personal or account information. We'll never contact you to ask for these details.
Any emails from us will always greet you personally using your title, surname and the last four digits of your account number. Any text messages we send you will come from MBNA .

We don’t charge you for using the app, but standard network charges may apply, both in the UK and overseas. Service may be affected by phone signal and functionality. Terms and conditions apply.
Touch ID requires at least iPhone 5s running iOS 10.0 or above or iPad (5th generation), iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, or iPad mini 3 (or later models). Face ID requires either iPhone X, or later models, or iPad Pro with Face ID capability (2018 onwards).

Please note that features requiring the use of your device’s phone capability, such as Call us, won’t work on iPads.

Login Fails
If you’ve ever locked yourself out of a bank account, you know what a pain it is. This app is designed to lock you out, it’s brilliant. Login credentials work on the website, but not the app.
Update: this app now tells you to update your password if you use special characters. First of all that’s ridiculous, secondly, is a dash considered a special character? Apple’s secure password suggestion feature uses them, and if so, this app essentially breaks a great iOS feature, and why? For what? Is that why my login attempts fail? I don’t even know, and I can’t tell from the vague explanation. What arrogance to ask every user that has a special character to change their password (how many even know which characters are “special” and which aren’t!) rather than to make the effort to address the coding challenges of special characters so that people can a) have more secure passwords, and b) have a good user experience.

Basic login broken
This app is not in sync with their website when it comes to the most basic function: logging in.
They coded their app to not allow the input of special characters in either the username or password fields.
So if you have followed good password practices, which recommends including special characters in your password, you’ll find that logging into their website is no problem. But try logging in to their app and you’re greeted with a message that special characters are not supported and therefore you need to change your password (make it less secure) in order to use the app.
Frankly, I’ll just skip the app. When it comes to banking, your institution shouldn’t make you use less secure passwords just to use their mobile app.
