Point your iPhone at a location and see exactly where the sun will be live in AR through the precise lens you will be shooting with. Viewfinder combines astronomy grade solar tracking with lens accurate framing so you can scout smarter plan your light and arrive on set already knowing your shots.
AR SOLAR TRACKER
A live AR sun overlay sits directly on the camera feed using GPS compass and motion data. The sun position is calculated using the NOAA solar algorithm based on Jean Meeus Astronomical Algorithms accurate to +/-0.01 anywhere on Earth with atmospheric refraction applied so it matches what you see.
- Real time sun disk in frame with an edge arrow when the sun is outside your shot
- Light phase readout Golden Hour, Blue hour etc
- Sunrise and sunset times for your exact GPS location
- Time travel mode to preview any date and time
- Saved frames include sun position compass bearing, altitude, light phase and timestamp
LENS ACCURATE FRAMING
Pick a sensor focal length and aspect ratio. Viewfinder matches the iPhone camera to that angle of view. The app automatically selects Ultra Wide Wide or Telephoto.
