Not useful

I scanned products that were clearly marked vegan, and it did not recognize them. I scanned a dozen other products that I did not recognize. Second problem is they design, is their advertising so you can easily flat finger installation of unwanted software.

Signed up for free trial and it charged me $45

It doesn’t have everything, but it has a lot

It stays on the safe side and the app is cleanly designed. Info and FAQs are great. I will use it as a backup/second opinion scan.
Also, 25% to animal rights organizations absolutely cannot be ignored. I think people are being way too harsh. It is a 4 star for me but I will give it five for this reason.

The concept is great!

The idea of this app is genius and could be really, really great IF it were updated regularly and the database was big and accurate. If someone can take over the app or create a similar one, I'm sure many, many people would appreciate it.

Terrible app

Terrible app. I tried 10 different products and none would scan. I tried the search on common found house hold products and popular products and it had no results on any of them. This app blows. I literally wasn't able to get a single thing out of it. Too bad because it would be a great handy thing to have.

Wow.. Um... No.

Lousiest database I have EVER seen! EVERY scanned item was unknown, even imported brands that I know are vegan and popular around the world. With this kind of database, if you think for a second that I will spend money's for your other paid app: KEEP DREAMING.

Unreliable & inaccurate

As many have said, the idea for the app is great but the app itself is not. Along with the app crashing and having little to no information, it also gives you false information. i.e Sour Patch Candy: The app says they are "definitely vegan, and then goes on to list Red 40 as an ingredient. Red 40 is not vegan. There could be inaccurate information with other ingredients in other products as well, which therefore makes this app unreliable and kind of useless.

Crappy app

Just installed it despite all the bad reviews. Scanned several products actually labeled vegan just to test it and the app does not recognize the items. Crappy app. Immediate removed. Why offer such garbage. Good idea - very very poor delivery !

Does not work anymore

I've had this app for awhile, and it used to work about 50% of the time. I assumed it was new and I live in Canada so all the products may not be loaded yet. Over the last 6 months or so, the app hasn't worked at all. Items that used to scan don't anymore. The app freezes all the time and doesn't work for anything. It would be nothing less than amazing if the developers could fix this. It would be such a useful tool for vegans, new and old.

Disappointed

The concept of this app is great and it would've been an amazing tool to have as a consumer but it doesn't recognize even the most basic and common products, won't scan anything! I tried the free app first with no luck then bought the $4.99 version hoping the free version was a dud but the paid version was no better :(

Loved the idea of this app but when I went to try it out, every product I tried said that the app had no information on it. Not to mention it doesn't fit properly on an iPad screen. Unimpressed.

Not a single match

I have yet to find a single item in my home was UPC code is recognized by this app. I am only scanning products which I already know are vegan. I think their database should have been much larger before they launched this app. Or are they waiting for us to fill out their database?

Love this

Great but doesn't contain enough products

I really like this idea. But out of 15 items I scanned only 3 Came back with information. Had to spend time sending the other items information to the app designer to add to the system. Not sure how long I will keep if I have to keep adding items. Takes up way to much time.

Wonderful idea!

Everything I scanned had no info in the app! Not one thing I scanned told me if it was vegan of not. I can't find where to add ingredients to a scanned item to help build the data, so what gives? Why is there so little product info in this app?

Pffft!
