Thank you for this great app because it really helps with research and for service. I just had a thought about the download feature. Because so many get new devices often can you make a download all feature if someone wants to download all the kids videos for example. Or all the watchtowers of year 2005. Tapping every single item individually takes a long time when you want to redownload all your previous item on the previous device.

It would be nice if in the research tab, references could be minimized. Sometimes, especially on mobile, you have to do a lot of scrolling to see other reference material, (especially with the length of Enjoy Life Forever references).

In no way am I wanting to be a critic, I do promise, especially since I have absolutely no knowledge of coding or programming

You all do such an amazing job and work so hard for all of us … I am deeply grateful to have such tools available and would be hopelessly lost without them

This last major update has made it a tiny bit more challenging to use the notes as the cursor seems to have a mind of its own … the fixes HAVE indeed helped but not resolved the issue completely …. I start typing somewhere but then the cursor jumps somewhere else (usually the end of the note) and keeps typing after skipping 1 or 2 letters

I think this might not be problematic most of the time, but for some study notes or some publications I navigate through the body of the note quite a bit as I rephrase in my own words ; type in main points / illustration ; fill in the blanks (I copy / paste the suggested meditation questions and then go back to jot down my thoughts) …

Anyway … really not a big deal and it’s making me work on my patience so there’s a good side to it 😆 but just thought I would share my experience with the notes and the update 😄

The bug fixes are helping, but still at times, notes written down are erased or the app crashes randomly. Prior to the playlist option, the app didn’t have any issues. I hope this can be rectified. Thank you for all your hard work and this blessing of an app from Jehovah.

Hello, since there doesn’t seem to be any way to report a bug, I’ll do it here. When on a small phone screen, and trying to highlight text (say, of a WT) the app frequently tries to “turn the page” while highlighting, which is extremely frustrating. This seems to be a bug, or at least a behaviour that should be able to be turned off. I might suggest changing the interaction so that pages only “turn” when a finger is swiped from either left or right edge of the screen, and not when a finger swipes from the middle of the page (when trying to highlight). Thank you!

Trying to type notes in Library: once you start typing in, it bounces from where you are typing to end of note. Makes serious note taking difficult in that you have to go back up the lines, find where you left off, then jumps again.

Underlining or highlighting is difficult because when you start the hilite on the left side of the page, it isn’t steady and you “pull” the part you want to hilite, to Center.

This app has been my source of study.

I use the backup tool. Please create a way to sync the app with multiple devices like iPad and computers. It could be linked to a dropbox / gmail or any cloud account. It’s difficult to synchronize from device to another device and I’m worried that all the notes will be overwritten when I use different devices, losing all the time that I put on personal notes and text. I set one star only for this. So the feedback will stand out. You do a great job with the research on the bible, the articles are amazing and gave me the support that I need during this difficult time. However, as you do a great research, while I read the bible and the articles I don’t want to loose all of that value information that I found meditating while I read the bible. I’ve been waiting the new update to create list of pictures, multimedia that you announced. This will help me while I read the bible with my daughter as she still is learning to read and I have to find pictures from previous publications/ books and other articles published. Reading the bibles with multimedia and pictures makes easy for little ones to love God. Thank you again for all your effort bringing the spiritual information that we need every day besides the sync option the rate will be 10 out 10

Thank you so much for this amazing app. I have been using it every day since it was released. I love every new feature that has been added over the years. I use the notes feature a lot! At the meetings and pioneer meetings/school I use them to take notes. I like to tag them to a scripture so that the next time I look up that verse I can see the note and go review it again. In the future would it be possible to tag more than one scripture to a note? That would be very helpful.

The app works great thanks for the hard work I just wish that the little arrow that brings down the imagine on your main screen would of stayed. With one of the recent updates, that arrow left and now when you share an image your main screen has to have the image up and can’t navigate jw library to prepare let’s say the song or to prepare the next image in another article.

Maybe there is a reason for this or a new way to bring the image down and have it keep sharing on your second screen, which I would like to know.

After several years of using this app I continued to appreciate its eternal value. The refinements that have been made are both PRACTICAL and SIMPLE to use. The added meeting STUDY feature (ability to fill in a comment) is so helpful in our personal reflection of the material and Bible insights. SEARCH features continue to improve, which maximizes our time from simply looking for material, to using the precious asset of time devoted to study and meditation.

Although a free app, having the experience in producing my own app, I also deeply appreciate the time, effort and expense that goes into producing and maintaining this priceless tool (many may not realize “free apps” may cost hundreds of thousands of USdollars and possibly millions).

THANK YOU for such an absolutely amazing app that truly has no match in enriching our spiritual lives!

Full Year of WT Not Showing In Research Guide Side Bar

I love this app. I use it daily and am truly grateful for all the amazing features and constant updates.

I am using an iPad, and when I use the research guide, I like to know the year of the WT reference. As an example Job 12:23, when you click the gem symbol, and click research guide, the year of the WT is cut off due to the length of the title. This requires you to download the WT to see what year it is. It doesn’t happen for some other publications, as the titles are much shorter. It also doesn’t happen when the month reference is shorter, like “May”, because it all fits. Would love to always see the year of the WT without having to download it.

Not appreciating the new video update… I used to use subtitles on all my video content and now many of the videos say subtitles are not available. Playing a video when there is ambient noise or a barking dog or for a person who has English as a second language is all better when there are subtitles - please bring them back! I also think that the player menu at the bottom left is much harder to use than when it was centralized. PiP feature is great.

Thank you so much for developing and maintaining this application; it's clearly a game changer. I just wanted to write this review in the case anyone is monitoring feedback, as there are a couple of UX issue that, if resolved, would massively improve usability 🙂

Videos. There are two distinct actions when a video is touched: Stream or download. I'd bet analytics data suggests downloading is quite a popular action. However, the majority of the touch region streams, while the tiny cloud icon has an indistinct touch region which often incorrectly initiates streaming. This is horrible when you are in a quiet environment, or need to share a video without wasting a householders time. Why not just make the touch region show the download menu, and add streaming as an option at the top of that menu? That way users can intuitively identify what the result of their action will be, rather than have to somehow instinctively understand that streaming is an option and is somehow different that the download option which appears to apply to the whole thumbnail.

Publication menus. This is one of those things that you eventually learn and adapt too, but it's still confusing for new users. If I got to publications, and select Watchtower, I am presented with the year categories. However, when navigating back to the parent menu, it is common to contract the current menu by click on Watchtower again. This is typically indicates to the user by having a chevron to indicate this, as is the case with jw.org's stylesheet. All Types is displayed with a chevron, but it take conscious investigate to really determine that as it is so counterintuitive.

These issues only critically impact two user groups: New users (i.e. non-witnesses) who may abandon the app because it "doesn't work" (I've personally encountered this with return visits); and power users who are utilizing new features such as iOS video sharing in other languages, or who are operating meetings via teleconference.

Again, this sounds critical; I understand the time and effort to get the app to this point, and it's an amazing accomplishment. Please keep up

the great work! But these changes could genuinely allow someone to plant a seed in a time critical situation, or to read content they need rather than abandoning the app. And the development impact would implementing standard menu elements rather than building/maintaining non-standard and counterintuitive ones.

I have noticed that with the version of iOS noted above, I no longer have the research guide etc, just the basic scripture links. Thanks to my old iPad mini I have an older version of iOS and I still have the research guide, pictures etc

Not getting the study notes on acts

I’m so excited about this update! The trouble I’m having is with iPhone X. The black bar on the bottom of the screen to advance to another app is directly in front of the buttons to select home/Bible/publications etc. Because of this, you can’t select those buttons very easily. Hope that helps.

This is truly a magnificent Bible study app! The recent addition of the Study Edition has improved things greatly! The level of care put into the UX of this is noticeable and greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for improving my Bible study.

I very much appreciate the ability to capture notes and build a store of study references. I would like to suggest the possibility of an option to “Copy with caption“. If possible, this would allow pasting not only the text of a reference, but its source. For example, if pasting a study note from a Watchtower article, perhaps it could be optionally formatted as “(w16 5/15 p. 3 par. 2) Some text...” It would be even better if the reference was a hyperlink that would take you back to the original source. Thank you very much for your ongoing improvements.

I am having trouble when using the note feature, with copying & pasting. It works fine at first, but then it does not work if I am doing quite a few notes.
