Misleading Promises, Terrible Customer Support – Felt Scammed

I booked my flight with Qatar Airways because they advertised a “1-time free change” option, which sounded like a flexible and stress-free solution for travel uncertainties. The booking process was smooth and quick — but that’s where the good experience ended.

When I actually needed to use the free change option, it turned into a nightmare. The process was unclear, the customer service was unhelpful and borderline dismissive, and I was met with unexpected costs and conditions that were not made transparent at the time of booking. It felt like a bait-and-switch — promising flexibility, then creating obstacles just to squeeze more money from customers.

The entire experience left me feeling manipulated and scammed. I will not be booking with Qatar Airways again, and I strongly advise others to be cautious — especially if you’re counting on flexible travel options. The airline’s service after booking is a massive letdown and not what you’d expect from a so-called “premium” carrier.

Painful to make transactions

The app is a pain to use. Compare it to others like Air France or Lufthansa it’s far behind. Charging seats map takes forever and payment operations are stressful as an operation might be successful but all of a sudden the app decides it needs an update.. there u go, it crashes and the transaction passed. It issued a reimbursement but the process was really daunting. Can’t recommend using the app. Try to copy Air France one if you want to do better.

Garbage

I never refer this garbage flight and airways to anyone, absolutely nothing supportive no Hindi or Bollywood music plus baggage allowance are absolutely nothing worth and once you travel from us -Canada they had charge nothing for personalized bag and once you travelled back they charge hell lot of money so bag policy absolutely nothing supportive supportive and garbage ,,food no vegetarian prefer also no taste at all..no good baggage policy, no watch movies and music preference and no food 😡 don’t travel with this unless you want to go through bag experience.👎🏿

Amazing flight

I flew business class Montreal to Dubai and right from the moment I walked up to the gate the service began. Priority boarding and shown my seat. Drinks offered, introductions made. Q suites are the only way to go. Great space, comfortable sleeping, huge tv selection and great food. The attention to detail with the food presentation went above and beyond. The stewards were very friendly and attentive and left me wanting for nothing. Bathrooms were cleaned continuously throughout the flight. The layover in the beautiful first class lounge in Doha was well worth the visit with direct boarding from the lounge. Well done Qatar, you did not disappoint.

Bad experience from Qatar Airways

We always fly Business Class with Emirates because we've heard it's the best. However, this time we tried Qatar Airways, and we had a very disappointing experience.

The AC was not cooling enough during our return flight from Doha to Dallas, making it feel quite hot. When we pressed the help button, the response was always delayed. Additionally, the Wi-Fi wasn’t working on both legs of our journey—from Chicago to Doha and returning from Doha to Dallas. As a businessman, this was particularly frustrating because I couldn't respond to emails, which left my entire business at a standstill. It's baffling why one would book Business Class for business purposes only to experience such inadequate services from Qatar Airways.

To make matters worse, the flight information from Doha to Dallas was not functioning, the food menu needs improvement, and they should also enhance their beer selection. Lastly, they didn’t provide white blanket sheets for sleeping.

App has glitches

The date section in the calculator to see how many points it would cost to purchase a reward seat doesn’t work. It won’t let you select or change the date and it’s set to the year 1969. Alternatively you can use the “book” section and choose “book an award flight.”

You also can’t add a family member to collect points on their flights because the fields don’t work. You can add them on the QatarAirways website, however.

I must say I am disappointed by the app but I do like Qatar Airways as an airline.
