Unfair service
They have given me a limitless credit card but every time I make more than one transaction, they block it. It’s also not the preferred vendor in Quebec and many stores won’t take it.

Good bank only until you face issues that should usually be resolved
Got a chargeback claim rejected when my flight was cancelled. Amex doesn’t care about their customers and doesn’t even try to resolve chargeback claims. So consider this when you choose your day to day bank.

Very disappointing service-after a week of the application was submitted for an extra Platinum card (the previous application was not considered as I did not cancel the Gold card, as I did not know that) it turned out that the card will be delivered by February 26, even though I told that we need it urgently for a business trip, and it supposed to be delivered 3-5 business days after February 12. Nothing was done except sorry. I am very frustrated as a new customer. It was not the service I expected American Express in comparison to local bank with lower fees.

Trash UX but good credits
Tell me why my due statement in the home screen is different in the due statement in the summary screen? Or why sometimes refunds counts towards the full statement and sometimes it doesn’t?
My partner and I were manually tracking our finances and we noticed so many inconsistencies. It’s so confusing that it made me mess up my payment and got me an interest penalty… Overall poor ux, please fix or hire people that can fix it.

Overcharge on my bank account
Charged more then required amount from my bank account. Even though I have nothing left to pay to Amex it charged to my account.

Awful pin recovery system
I wanted to look at my pin and it told me to use email for verification. I enter the code multiple times from the email and it says it's wrong then blocks my account.
I'm out on a date and I don't have time to call people for my pin 👎 to whoever thought it was a good idea with no warning block your account

I want to like this app
The interface is nice, and the functionally it’s great. But it seems like Amex has added a lot of little roadblocks to try and discourage you from paying off your card(s). Such as...
1. No ability to pay off the card prematurely in order to offset purchases not yet posted
2. Notifications for a payment’s due date is disabled by default, and the earliest you can be notified is 10 days from the due date
It gives me the impression that they want you to be drowning in interest accompanied debt as soon as possible

Dark theme!
Looks great while staying in brand. My eyes will thank you! Way ahead of many other financial institutions. The recent few updates have made the app a 1st rate citizen in iOS, such as supporting standard navigation gestures. Keep it up!

Latest version ‘kills’ Face ID
This has been a recurring issue for Face ID for almost 2 years for the Amex CA app.
The AMEX USA app has never had this issue.
I have reported this issue numerous times, including to the Amex Ombudsman’s office.
Sadly, this newest release has ‘killed’ Face ID which had been working as intended for several weeks, proving yet again that the Amex CA mobile app team is unable to fix a bug that has been around for almost 2 years.

It would be really nice if Amex would add online and in-app communication tools. It is a huge inconvenience to have to call in for everything.
If I want to change a card type I would like to be able to request to do that online; like all other financial institutions.

Overall I love the functionality and modern look of the AMEX app. One minor note is that after the update the comma delimiter for points above 1,000 is missing (e.g. displays as “1000). Can you please bring this back?

Best Credit Card/Banking App
This is by far the best credit card or banking app I’ve ever used on an iPhone. The UI is very native to iOS and functionality is always up to speed with any new iOS features. Never had a single bug in the year or so I’ve used this app. Huge thanks to the app developers and American Express focusing on this.

After last update, I can no longer see supplemental card used on transactions. Looks like all the transactions are for basic card member. Impossible to figure out balances owing by card member. Please fix ASAP.

Love Amex, Don’t love the newest update
Been with Amex for about 2 years and love everything they have to offer, including their old app, the aesthetics and functionality were great. Recently they’ve updated the app with some nice improvements - however they’ve changed the theme to this all white abomination. It’s really hard on the eyes, and not very pleasant at all. I’d implore Amex to switch back to the old theme.

Takes more click to get info
Before this major upgrade, we were able to see airport lounges (Platinum benefits) with a few clicks and within the app. Now you are redirected to Safari and takes longer to get the info. It was so easy and faste before, why making it more complicated?

change is not always a good thing
I had the old version of the app which was simple and easy! I could see my transactions, make a payment, research airport lounges and research good restaurants near me wherever I was and now I can’t do this. The click here to see restaurant doesn’t even work. I am very disappointed.

New My platinum option lost certain features
In the older version, the My platinum allowed us to see nearby restaurants and lounges near us.
Now the new version sends us to the generic website of the My platinum advantages.
Would much prefer the older version of this back.

App redesign needs work
Not loving the new redesign. I used to like the city search feature for platinum dining benefits and other benefits. You (Amex) got lazy and simple out web redirects which defeats the purpose of an app. Why even bother at this point - this is lazy coding. Recommendation to revert this section back .

The “My Platinum” section in this new version is horrific - it’s a link to an online site. The old app had platinum dining, insurance, and other benefits all in one place within the app, which was extremely handy. Now it’s a complete mess.
