I don’t even have the words to describe just how bad this app is. To PBSC: this atrocity should not even be in the App Store, PLEASE do something to fix it. It constantly freezes so I have to force close the app and relaunch. It’s incredibly slow which makes it unusable. And it is a huge battery drainer. I want you to know just how much anger and frustration this app causes me when trying to use the bike share system is Toronto. Please please fix it.

you must check in to a station evert half hour or else get charged an extra fee. but what happens when the stations are full all around you? nothing you are screwed, they say you can extend by letting them know you’re at a station and it is full except clocking “i am at a station” does nothing. great business model.

I recently moved over from London (U.K.) where there is a similar bike share system, and I was looking forward to having a similar system in Toronto. There are MAJOR problems with it here, mostly that during rush hours there are either no bikes or the rack is full so you can’t park your bike. So many more people would ditch their cars if this system actually worked! Surely a solution to this problem isn’t any more than hiring a data analyst because it is unbelievable how unreliable this system is. Before all the announcements about having new electric bikes - put the investment in actually having bikes available and a good inventory management system!

I read all the brutal reviews and tried to use the app anyway. That was a mistake. It's just as bad as all these reviews say.
I tried thought I'd save some time by singing up for a single ride ahead of time (20 minutes before) but when I went to get a bike it told me my plan had expired. Just embarrassing. Toronto deserves so much better than this.

This app is glitchy af. I try updating my address info for my CC and 1) the app resets when trying to do a copy and paste between the this app and my bank app, 2) when I completed the new address info, it didn’t actually save it, and 3) it didn’t give a notification that the app failed to save the information.

The app is not clear and the user experience is awful. Some issues are as follows:
Once you rent 2 bikes and return one of them due to a supposed mechanical issue, you cannot track the using time anymore for both of them;
When you use the bike for an extra period of time (more than 30min), you receive a message informing that overusing but no “extra charge alert” is issued.
I’ve reported a mechanical issue in one of the bikes which has been rented. However, I could not find any log or tracking information regarding that problem.
I’ve rented 2 bikes for 24 hours and supposed to pay $14 + extra charges over 30min + taxes. Today, I noted that the following figures had been charged instead: $40 + $15.82 + $22.60 + taxes, amounting $78.42 + taxes. It doesn’t seem reasonable to me.
After using and paying the whole rental, no clear report was issued by the app not any email with a statement.
I’m really disappointed with the app and hope the owners could see it from the costumer perspective to understand the real issues.

I have paid for two single trips, one double trip, and a 24-hour trip ($22 CAD total) where I have been unable to unlock bikes due to “bluetooth not working”. My bluetooth, each time, was working perfectly. This was confirmed via a number of tests I did, and I even got an Apple Customer Service Rep to confirm it. I paid for goods that I was not able to access due to a faulty pbsc app, because there is no way to retrieve the bike codes except via the app. When I try to chat with a live customer service rep, it takes me to a page that charges me $2CAD for the support. I do not recommend using citibike unless you but the annual pass and get the card that goes with it.

The idea of the service has great potential, but it is poorly executed and I believe is intentionally misleading.
The app itself is extremely slow and not user friendly. It took me so long to type in my information for a single ride, that my phone died and I was stranded in an unfamiliar part of the city. My phone’s battery is moderate, it typically lasts when I am out. However, I used 50% waiting for this app to input my information alone while it glitched, closed and moved to different drop downs dozens of times.
The bike service itself is only available for 30-45 minute rides or you are charged $4 extra per half hour. This is a misleading service, and not directly outlined on the app. Toronto traffic is often horrendous, and it isn’t always possible to get to your destination within a 30 minute time frame.

I want to start by saying I love the bikeshare service itself. However the way that this app manages it for the user is completely horrible. Not only does it take me opening and closing the app several times to get it to work, but even when it does it takes forever to actually unlock the bikes. Be warned that additional miscellaneous charges appear on your credit card after you rent a bike. It’s a very shady business model where they don’t disclose a handful of costs in the app, you’ll end up paying 1/4 the price of a brand new bike for renting a bike from them for a few hours. Do not use!

The app is extremely slow, requires a lot of trial and error to figure out how to use it, and doesn’t even do what it says in the help modal. We stood next to a full rack of bikes for 10 minutes and the app wouldn’t let us extend the time. We had to wait for someone to come around and take out a bike. Why a city would choose this app to represent their bike share is beyond me. 2 stars because eventually it “worked”.

This app can be beyond awful at times and others incredibly simple. Sometimes you can’t get a bike because your Bluetooth isn’t on(what?), sometimes it says your pass has expired or that you’re still riding when you’ve clearly docked the bike and can’t take out another. We just ask for consistency.

Have to rate this 2 stars as the app is so poorly coded, moving the map around causes the app to freeze up.
I like the QR scanning feature but I much preferred using Transit app to unlock bikes and not this mess.
Happy to update my rating if they fix the performance issues and refine the app design or consider adding an Apple Watch app. As of now, I resent the fact that I’m forced to use this.

Scanning QR code gives an error message. Can’t use numeric codes because I’m “too far away” (IM STANDING NEXT TO THE BIKE). The “support” link leads to “error page not found”.
I just used a bike this morning! No idea whats happening. Some communication would be great but there’s no way to contact anyone!
