Use FineScanner AI to scan paper documents, books, agreements, receipts, magazine articles, notes, recipes, charts, tables, slides, whiteboards or even billboards on the street and get perfect digital copies.

The free version is ad-supported and allows you to save 5 pages.

The subscription is automatically renewed at the end of the period unless you choose to cancel the subscription at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. First shot -> instant success!
The tested OCR was a complex computer code string on a computer screen and it just worked perfectly (except for some percentages chars recognized as individual chars but that is totally acceptable as it saved me 20 minutes of work!). Cheers to the team.

Best OCR app I’ve used to date
OCR is not a perfect science, but I think that this app is about as good as it gets for most purposes. Very pleased with the accuracy, even on substandard originals.
UPDATE: since updating to iOS and iPadOS 13, handoff of mail docs to FineScanner seems to be broken. I’m disappointed that this was not addressed proactively or quickly. I

App consistently crashes
The app works incredibly well as a scanner and they’ve improved their document border recognition. The problem I have is that the app consistently crashes before taking a scan. In an attempt to scan 12 pages, the app crashed 20+ times.
Update: I’m bumping the review up to three stars. The app still crashes because I’m using a specific kind of paper that it doesn’t support. The support team was very responsive (hence the upgrade to three stars). I’ll update the review again once something changes.

One of the best, but a little expensive
After looking at many, many options, I like FineScanner very much. Accurate, full featured and easy to use. Although I’ve tried the app I ended up buying a different one because of the subscription cost for this one. Still, this is worth a look. This developer makes very good apps and, if you plan on using it a lot, it may be worth the cost to you.

Not working
I urgently needed to scan documents before banks closed. I think I bought the membership 4 times as it kept looping back after saying I was all set. Still not documents scanned ... no support to talk to
