Uber is definitely better, their map is not up to date, it shows driver is 3mins away and the driver will already have arrived then sends message saying you are late for pick up and charges you. I put in a stop that it told me my fee would move from $12 to $20 which i agreed but after trip it charged $30 though didnt even stop for more than a minute coz my pick up was waiting at pick up. Really disappointing

Default 5-star for drivers is misleading
Almost all of Lyft Drivers are 5 star rated. This is due to reason that users have two hours from the ride's end to rate driver. If you don't rate within that time, the driver will automatically receive a 5-star rating. This is misleading as I recently rode a Lyft Black car which had no AC and poorly maintained. People want to try to give Lyft a chance only if Lyft would let them! There is plenty of opportunity of improvement.

Poor Scheduled Ride Experience - Using Uber From Now On
Pre booked an early pickup a flight to the airport. Texted the driver 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time to ask ETA as it was already showing driver details. Waited 30 minutes without a response or gps update on drivers location before booking an Uber that arrived 5 minutes later. Will no longer be using Lyft for their unreliable drivers.

I am totally disappointed with Lyft I needed a ride for an appointment guess who messed me up. The timer showed 1 minutes well me waiting and thinking my driver was on the way no tada showed 13 more minutes guess who was extremely late me haha 😤.

Was late to work because my driver decided to stop at the bank and McDonald’s before getting me, the app matched me with him because it was supposed to take less time for him to get here, I had a different driver originally. Just use Uber instead tbh, this isn’t even much cheaper, I’ll only save a few cents per ride on Lyft.

The app won’t let me book a ride I have reached out to support and taken all steps to “resolve” the issue they just stopped responding back, i asked a friend and researched online what might have been going on with my account/card and if this has happened to anyone else and it has, so basically the answers I have seemed to have gotten were my card is blocked to them although I added more payment methods/cards for their confirmation process and it didn’t fix anything and brought me back to the same “confirm valid payment method”, so then stupidly awhile back I had also added money to the Lyft cash and that doesn’t work trying to book a ride either so Lyft owes me my $50 back and yea just putting this out there because you never think it’s going to be you but it can be you know and yea I was enjoy the little cheaters rides than less say Uber but to this day I haven’t had no problems with Uber every now and then they have deals or availability unless it’s so very busy booked event nights then priced go way up, yea be careful with this scam-like app, to be honest this all came about after I cancelled a ride then it’s like the app glitched and I didn’t scam or anything I literally just cancelled because I didn’t need the ride anymore I don’t remember what my plans were for that day and so on but yeah…

Today i have experienced which is neeraj is rider, i going to my job from my house, and i don’t have food or any thing with me, the rider is speeding and on the phones and don’t attention to me when i ask him to drop me off, after i left the car i see that , lyft charge me extra 20 dollars , and after that they msg and email me , and said that this extra 20 dollars charge is because of cleaning car, i going to my job and i dont have any thing with me , the driver is lying at me he put 2 popcorn on his car seat and take pictures and they charge me for 20 dollars, and there is no actual customer service which is i can reach, i just speak with robot chat in app. Dont take ride from them , they will take your money without any reason and your permission!!!! Really unreliable now.
Used to have a fine time with Lyft but now I get constant cancellations from drivers and no shows. Today I waited over 20 minutes before getting a ride and watch both drivers who cancelled on me drive by… But if the rider wants to cancel they still have to pay. Just pay the extra 2 bucks and get an Uber.

Wrong estimate of arrival and cancellation fees
I have both Uber and Lyft on my phone. Uber would say that the driver's ETA is in 5 mins, and it will be in 5 mins.
With Lyft, it takes longer. It would say an ETA of 5 mins and the driver would arrive in 15-20 mins. Sometimes with the wait time, I wouldve arrived earlier had I commuted.
This isn't just a one time thing too. Lyft manages to consistently overestimate the arrival of their drivers so you would book it. But once you realize that it's taking too long and want to cancel the ride, they're charging $4. This is disappointing.

Cancellation fees make no sense
3 drivers picked up my ride. Neither budged from their original location on the map for 10 mins. I tried to cancel the first but was asked to pay a $5 cancellation fee for ‘their time’. What about my time Lyft? Your riders were not moving.
When I messaged to ask for an updated ETA he cancelled the ride. No repercussions there for him.

I had a great first experience and the discount code promo was the incentive needed to use it, because I live in the suburbs, and to take it from here into the city is actually insane expensive - but with that 50% off code, it was awesome. App works decently and drivers are always pleasant but if any issues occur with the app or your ride it’s pretty much impossible to reach anyone and if you do they’re wholly unhelpful. They might offer you a $5 credit that expires in a week to appease you but that’s it. Better off using UBER, at least they somewhat seem to care about their riders.

Can’t use Apple Pay, unusable and harvesting my data!
Booking a lyft for the first time, the app refused to accept Apple Pay (AFTER I verified the apple confirmation), and asked me to enter credit card info, which Lyft DOES NOT need (Apple Pay should be enough!).
I entered my cc info because I had already come this far, then Lyft asked to scan my card, which it was completely unable to do because the number is faded.
In the end, the app was unusable and won’t let me delete my “unusable” credit card info.

Unexpected Driver Changes
The Lyft service should be for convenience, speed and safety especially during times of COVID-19 health crises but instead it makes you late, unsafe and annoyed constantly. The drivers don’t drive with urgency to get you where you’re going on time, the app constantly changes your drivers making you even more late n when they do arrive they cough and sneeze without a care in the world. You’re better off taking an UBER or just taking the bus. I don’t recommend you use this app

Why do you give 10% off promos and then up the price by $2-$3? Also we should be able to individually rate a driver, not just pick from a prepared menu of concerns. It limits the rider from explaining exactly what they want to say. I have complained before but Lyft doesn’t seem to care. I was ignored. At least with uber they are easily contactable.

Impossible to redeem $15 welcome gift
I used Lyft for first time. While using Google Maps to find a public transport to my destination, Lyft offered me a $15 welcome gift to credit towards my first ride.
So clicked in the link and it couldn’t open the landing page. So I have to manually download the app from Apple store.
When I confirmed my first ride, there was no place to redeem the code GMAPSCA that the offered not did Lyft subtracted that amount from my check.
So I was very disappointed with Lyft. Bad customer service and horrible first impression. Better keep using Uber

Use Uber, the Lyft developers lack brains
Many of the reviews here are focused on bad experiences with specific drivers. What Lyft won’t tell you is how awful their app actually is. At the time of writing, the Lyft app is riddled with numerous breaking bugs that come up in the worst situations. The code-monkeys tasked with designing this awful application are clearly not being fed enough bananas. You won’t notice it if you follow the exact “happy path” this app was clearly designed for, but once you stray and mis-click a button, it is game over. Having taken hundreds of Uber trips, and dozens of Lyft rides, the quality difference is staggering. As much as Lyft likes to preach their culture, maybe they should focus on building a quality product first.

Wrong pickup and too many drivers still on ride
I’ve add such bad experience lately with Lyft, the app can’t seem to be able to locate me and even when it does, it sends me elsewhere for pickup without giving me a choice. I use the app when traveling so I mostly don’t know where I am, I don’t need to app to make me move also. Another thing and it’s more about the drivers, had to cancel 4 times today in a row because the drives keep accepting while still on another call, ended up wasting almost 30 minutes for drivers that either didn’t arrived or were way too slow.

Bad business practices
Lyft is a sketchy company and they lack transparent pricing, using opaque tactics to get you to pay more.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s easy enough for me to delete this app and never use it again because I’ve now had a couple cases where the quoted price has been significantly lower than the final price.
I don’t want to have my credit card on file for a company with these kinds of unethical business practices.

Neat riding sharing experience
Had a great time using Lyft for the first time on a work trip to the states. The prices were often cheaper than Uber and every driver we met was amazing. I even got free credits towards rides upon signing up. As far as the rating goes, there are 2 reasons I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 5. One is because only recently (months after I used Lyft) I discovered that every time I cancelled a ride I was charged $1. I was not aware of a cancellation fee as it was not communicated upon signing up or confirmed before I cancelled a ride - which is very poor disclosure. And the second reason is more than once, after accepting a ride and already being in the car the app kicked us out of that ride because it found a closer one.. which doesn’t make sense seeing as we were already IN the ride we accepted so the individual driving us was forced to let us go because they wouldn’t be recognized for the ride. Other than than the overall experience was great.

i look at this app and uber, the destination from pick up to drop this app charging me a lot than uber.. so i guess i rather use uber than this app.

Got billed for $5.65 cancellation fee. Two drivers couldn’t find the Marriott City Centre at the Rogers Centre. Almost missed a show. Not impressed!

Can't use in Canada with iOS 9?
Pretty insane that you can't update to the new version (the version required to use the app in Canada) unless you are on iOS 10 or higher. Looks like Uber will continue getting my business, hopefully their prices will go down with Lyft's arrival.

Avoid the use of this app. They have no support, charge for no reason, drivers have loopholes to fool around and charge extra
