Love it but buggy

“No network RELOAD”

Version 78.0.2

Buggy and annoying.

YouTube videos rarely play inside the app. No way I’d pay for a subscription in an app that’s buggy like this. This is a pain. The Mac app is the same way and it won’t load images almost all the time. They’ve got a lot of bugs to fix before I would ever dream of subscribing. Plus no way to report bugs. Can’t even search through discovery. I have to pay for that? Come on, that’s a basic feature in every app, everywhere. This app has a lot of potential but it’s frustrating as hell.

Not liking Version 7.6

I used to be able to look at specific feeds, now everything in each category is lumped together. I now have to sort through a large number of articles for just those from feeds I want to see.
My time to read news feeds is limited and now I have to waste time scrolling around.
I may have to find another newsreader app.

Trackpad no longer works

Been using my trackpad on my magic keyboard for iPad Pro since it came out months ago with this app no problem. I can no longer use the trackpad for many functions in this app. Totally unusable now. Time to switch to another app. Feedly used to be the best not anymore. Fix it quick.

Broken setup & login, iOS version poor

Garbage from the get go. Continually trying to push for more of your personal data. Stuck in password reset loops. iOS and safari problems galore. It’s shouldn’t be this hard to aggregate news feeds. Positive reviews must be bots. Take a pass!

Crappy integrated browser

I love my Feedly RRS reader but the integrated browser has been nerfed hard. It crashes and refreshes web pages so much that you must leave the app entirely to read articles. This has to be fixed.

Where’s the clock?

Used to be great until the latest version (72.0.0) disabled the iPhone clock. Now, if you want to know the time, you need to exit the app, which often resets your feed.

Where did the delete feed go?

Has been a good reader but can no longer delete a feed I don’t want and never signed up for (as in, it’s in a foreign language I don’t know). Can’t find any edit button. Swiping left on the feed name used to bring up a delete button but no more. Fix please!
Edit: Also, 90% of the time when opening the feed panel it is completely blank, and the blog feeds used to show when they were last updated, which helped me keep things current by deleting blogs that were no longer active. Why did you get rid of this? I thought the idea of releasing updates was to enhance functionality, not remove it.

Used to be great

Feedly used to be my go-to, one of the first apps I'd open every morning (see my original review at the end). But a few updates ago they went south, and I had to find a new RSS reader and only use Feedly if I *really* had to.
Since the update, they took away some features eg. you can't zoom in/pinch out to view an image, and if you click on an image link it just brings you to the image file instead of the URL being linked to (I can get to the link if I click on it using another reader, so I know the original article works). Small inconveniences, true, but they add up, and you want a mobile app that works from the start, not one that works halfway.
Also if you go to Feedly from your browser itself, the page doesn't come up mobile-friendly which would be the bare minimum. It's very strange.
My old review, kept here for posterity: Best RSS reader. Able to organize feeds, share posts, and most importantly read posts in clean appealing formats.

Mercifully, there’s still Feedly Classic

The only good thing about this ‘upgrade’ is the fact the developers were kind enough to keep Feedly Classic around as an alternative. Classic is a 5-star App. This version is not.

Good features but laggy

Since the iOS 13 update, Feedly has become noticeably laggy on my iPad mini. Actions like closing an article or opening the feeds sidebar lag to the point that sometimes I repeat the action thinking that my swipe gesture wasn’t detected.

Something wrong with discover feature

Scrolling to the bottom of any news feed, there’s a discover option which shows similar content to what I’m already viewing. When I try clicking the similar news feed link, it redirects me to it but it ends up getting stuck on loading screen. When I search for the news feed on search bar it doesn’t have that problem. I believe the discover feature is bugged, please look into this thank you

Doesn’t work with iOS 13... boooo

I don't get the latest decisions. From the launch screen to view states, why are you putting so much effort on these when these don't help my experience?
Like the super green screen when launching... why do you say it's dark friendly? It isn't and it's aggressive...
From Apple's own dev documents...
"Design a launch screen that’s nearly identical to the first screen of your app. If you include elements that look different when the app finishes launching, people can experience an unpleasant flash between the launch screen and the first screen of the app."
Now many of us use the dark theme... why would you put that start screen then? And why is it so slow?
Bottom line, I just don't get many design decisions, details and gestures of these updates. I use an iPhone X and the Green screen lasts 1-2-3-4 seconds when booting the app... ridiculous.
Simply, all these changes don't make our experience better nor smoother.

Great that it still exists, but the last update was a flub

Still the best reader

I’ve now tried about half a dozen RSS readers (including Reeder 4 and Lire), but this app has everything. Read on scroll, an an-app counter (so you know how many more articles to whizz through), quick swipe access to Pocket (or your Read-Later app of choice), and it is fast and syncs perfectly across my phone, iPad and Mac. It's also slick and beautiful.

Thank you for bringing Classic back

The redesign makes browsing and going through saved items so much slower. Aesthetically it's nice, but difficult and sluggish to flip through pages. Fewer articles fit on each screen, and seems to take longer to load. Very grateful that old version was brought back.

Getting pointless

More and more feeds are starting to only display titles and a few sentences then requiring you to leave the app and read the rest of the article on a webpage. Making the whole app pointless why use Feedly when I have to leave the app every time I want to read something anyway?

Another backwards ‘upgrade’

What is it with developers ruining perfectly good apps with upgrades that degrade the quality of their product? I suspect it often has something to do with money, i.e. a desire on their part to extract more cash from users. The Feedly UI used to be intuitive and it was easy to figure out what is what. That all changed in the last year or so and now it has officially become another ‘used to be good’ app that has turned into a mess.
It seems the devs do not want users to customize Feedly by adding only the sites they want to follow. And where are the settings and preferences? Adding and deleting content and creating customized boards (and moving content between boards) used to be a straightforward process, now it is next to impossible.
Really disappointing.

Terrible after forced update

New update and “features” are a step backwards. Missing feature to mark a full page read. HATE the green box that slides into view when marking a article read. Alternating between a bottom menu and a top menu is asinine. Do not need whatever you call the transition between the list and the article and back. Not sure what benefits came from this update, and I am sorry that you wasted so much development time.

New changes weren’t good

The infinite scroll is not good when you want to quickly view the feed, just reading the title and changing the page to have an equals amount of new articles - the eye gets used to go back to the top of the page and down. With scrolling, you never know exactly where to look, reading gets slower.
Also, the gesture to mark as read an entire page is gone. That is what made me go for feedly classic.

Neither

I will install neither. The dev has clearly dumped on the previous version as is apparent re the grey icon. Committing to a new iteration seems stupid when you have so much negative feed back. Just admit the new version is a failure and listen to the reviews, and fix it.

Great App gone bad - and fixed!!

I used it every day to feed my news habit! Then it continually flipped into portrait on my iPad so had to delete. Just re-installed and the problem is fixed!! Now it just opens Safari to read the entire story so I have to remember to close the Safari page before returning but that's a small price to pay for all the other great features of this app.

The new update makes it unusable.

This is my first review on the app store. I have been using feedly in the past couple of years and this is the best news feed app I have ever used. However. The latest update made the interface very user unfriendly. And now it will now properly load the articles in the same format every time I refresh it. Hopefully you guys can fix it soon. Sorry for the one star but I'm very disappointed. I used to use the app everyday.

Few issues, great app

Few issues I’ve noticed with the newest update:
1) Embedded tweets are larger than the screen and since the zoom in/out function has been removed it’s impossible to read them all without going to the site (mainly seem on Gizmodo posts).
2) I would also like to be able to zoom again, no so much an issue as just a feature that was useful.
3) Clicking the top of the screen no longer scrolls all the way back to the top.
4) Clicking on a previously closed article doesn’t open where you left off, but annoying.
5) The lack of scroll bar on the right side can be a bit disorienting when reading long articles.
Great parts of the update:
No more full page tiles!! UI works well too! Had to come and let the devs know that the newest update is appreciated :)
