Sleek design and mostly functional
It looks good and most features are easy toaccess, however, when tyou rerally need help KLM makes it hard for you to get help. The KLM App does not give you a way to contact a real person, they will not show you a phone number. After several not helpful layers of automation you can click the Facebook button to get connected to an agent. After 20 mins of waiting, they reply that you are on the Air France message thread and you have to contact KLM for your isuue, and Yes, its the button in the KLM App that leads you directly to Air France 😁 Also they removed the function to change your flight from the App for whatever reason .... I had. to get their Phone numbers from 3rd Party websites, because for some reason, KLM wants to make it difficult for their customers to get help.

Unmanageable check-in process
We had a connection flight with a stop-over in Amsterdam. Unavailable to choose seats with a spouse in a row in check-in process or earlier. Seats went randomly or payment process failed. Finally chose and paid for seats in the back in 6 hours before the flight.

Slow app and glitches
The app its not intuitive. I was trying to book different seats and it was not easy to navigate to the option or to switch between passengers. Also I couldn’t change or buy seats before checking in which is stupid.

Unwanted ad notifications

Over charged
Dear KLM customer service I hope this email finds you well. My name is Rafiki Rungo, and I am the owner of Fiki International LTD, a small African food distributor based in Edmonton, Alberta. I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue that occurred during a recent shipment handled by one of your agents at Entebbe Airport, Uganda. Yesterday, our company was charged for an additional 103 kilograms, totaling 270 kilograms, despite only shipping 147 kilograms. Can’t scan passport it keeps scrambling my data
Horrible experience with passport scanning. It jumbled up passport info & I had to give up after trying for over 1 1/2 hours. Had to go to airport to check in as I could not do it online. Very very disappointing!!!

How do you scan your passport?
There are no instructions in the app to tell you how to scan your documents. No buttons except a flash icon. Tried just about everything, gave up and went to enter it manually.
I thought I would save time by adding it to my account but then I had to add it again when I checked in. Why? No explanation.

Changing seats are a nightmare
I have been trying to change seats for the last 24 hours.
1) the seat map shows seats as available but when I click on them a message pops up to say they are not available. Yet their colour on the map remains “available”.
2) the seat map in the app and the website is different. I eventually realized that the website defaults to my current location’s (South Africa) website, while my app is linked to my home country’s site (canada).
3) after some hours I tried to book the seats again. This time it allowed me to select them, but when I click confirm the app just hangs with a circle turning round and round & nothing happening for 30 min.
Trying the same on the website rather than app just displays a message “there is a problem on our side please try later”
4) some hours later, I tried again. This time it said I must check in first, so I did.
So now I was allowed to select a seat, .. a purple one right in front at the bulkhead. It said the seat costs 84cad - 40cad already paid previously, hence 44cad. I clicked “confirm” and was taken to the payment website, where it wanted to charge me 178 cad. When you click the button to see the details for the options it only showed 1 line: 44 cad seat change, total 178 cad. This makes no sense.
5) I selected “cancel payment” and tried again. Now the seat was not available, so I selected a different one. Same story.
6). Tried it on South African web site. Same issue: 618 zar = 2000+ zar total.
7). Eventually I went back to the initial payment page and agreed to pay 178 cad. But my seat has not changed although the credit card transaction went through.
Basically NOTHING WORKS!

Very Bad Website & untrained staff
I needed a round trip. I started booking on KLM website & APP. I spent hours & hours for one week. Every time I found some glitch and failed to finalize my trip. I contacted customer service but no body knew anything. The customer service staff did not have required training. They always blamed the glitch in the system, advised me to use a different router, use a VPN, use Wifi instead of wireless data or change the computer. I ended up bying a round trip at a cost difference of 2000.00+ Canadian, 5015.00-2700.00CAD
I will never recommend using KLM APP, website or staff. Please look for some travel agency otherwise do it yourself if you can afford a spinning head and heack
I had no choice, because my travel agent was too busy.

Flight disruption but service could no be better
Freezing rain created havoc at AMS and the flight from SVG was delayed a few times and finally cancelled.
Ground crew and flight crew provided updates and demonstrated care and attention. The inconvenience was offset by creat customer service. The captain took the time to make announcements and staid involved caring for the passengers.
In addition email and app updates worked really well. I was able to make an informed decision for my further travel.
Simply great to be a passenger with this world class airline. Thank you KLM.

Login issue like Air France
I can’t login in the app to search reward flights… login doesn’t even works on Safari as well. I have provided the feedback to Air France App as well as the issue is similar. Not sure if the developers are same of both app.
Login does not take flying blue number or email to continue. Nothing happens when I click continue after entering email or FB number. Please check!

Pretty but not functional
It’s truly beyond me why the app wouldn’t let you change your flights. It’s pretty and blue and it’s got the basic information - that’s pretty much it. Yes, it crashes too. May as well just print the ticket.
Guys, work on the exceptions messages. If some options are blocked for self service for some legit reason, please notify the user they have no choice but call the hotline. Ugh...

Gym on the plane
I’ve always thought there should be a gym on the aircraft, only for long haul flights, so people could just workout to pass the time. Another thing I find weird is why people bring so much luggage, it’s to much of a hassle if it gets lost and it’s just a waste of space, why not put the gym where the cargo hold would be.
