Your guide on this tour is Adam Graham, a vintage radio fan who like an old friend shares his everyman commentary with listeners before inviting you to enjoy the show. Adam is tireless in his efforts to find the best public domain detective radio program for your consumption.
Our current line-up features Alan Ladd as Dan Holiday on Monday, Jack Webb in Pat Novak for Hire, Bob Bailey in Let George Do It, Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes, and Charles Russell as Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar.

Resets

The app resets to the beginning and it can be a struggle to find where I left off. It would be nice to be able to sort by the program so that I could listen to all of one program instead of having to search to find a particular show.

Love this App... A must have for OTR fans

I love this app, the ability to download, search and mark favourites is good. However the best thing about it is the content. Adam is a great host and he makes an effort to get the best quality old time radio detective shows. I really like how he plays the episodes in their original order and provides unique insight into the characters, writers and content of each episode. If you like old time radio detective shows this is the app to have.

The best old time radio App

I first found Adam and his podcast through the iTunes podcast app. I enjoyed listening to the daily detective shows and Adam's commentary but always felt like I was "late to the party" when he would mention past radio serials that he had played. Then during this past Listeners Support Campaign, Adam talked about his stand alone podcast app. I immediately loaded the App Store and bought it. Now I not only enjoy Adam's current line up of detective shows but I have been able to go back and listen to shows like Let George Do It, Candy Matson and Box 13(now the email address makes more sense) Keep up the great work Adam!

This app has everything, a variety of stories, good quality transmission, availability of past episodes, and an informative host. I love it!

Awesome! A real Keeper!!!

It's exactly what it says it is and it works!!!! The narrator Adam, is amiable and offers a plethora of history and information before and after each episode. Keep up the great work and thank you for all your time! Really enjoyable!!!

Great show and a handy app

I love this podcast; Adam's commentary is interesting and makes the listener appreciate the otr shows even more. This app is a handy way to make sure u don't miss an episode and the app's special extra shows are always appreciated. My only wish is that there was next/back button to move between episodes. Also, since the latest update it takes 30-45 seconds to load the app (unlike just a few seconds prior to the update). Overall, it a fantastic show and a good app.

I love love love love this show!

I drive for a living and every night I hit the highway with more than enough episodes to get me through the night.
I started tripping over the podcast by accident and now I am totally hooked!
I like Johnny Dollar the best but with Adams insiteful commentary and great research I have to come to enjoy all the different shows that gdootr has to offer.
Keep up the great work Adam I love your show.

Pretty buggy

WOW...unbelievable! You updated this app and now NONE of the Sherlock Holmes episodes will play! The stream just tries and tries to load. Other shows play but none of the Sherlock Holmes. I would give it 0 stars if I could! Useless app from terrible app developers!
Terrible app. First thing I did was search for Sherlock Holmes and got a few episodes listed but when I search for just the word Sherlock I get hundreds of episodes listed. Terrible indexing. Then when I try to play episodes 0009 and 0014 of Sherlock Holmes it actually plays episodes of Johnny dollar. How many other shows are miss indexed?
2 more bugs:
1. If you listen to a show, for say 5 minutes, then select another show to listen to instead of the new show starting from the beginning it actually starts at the 5 minute mark, or whatever point you were at in the previous show. You have to manually restart the new show.
2. If you are listening to something else on your iPad in the background and you select a show from this app it tries to play but won't. You have to go back to the app playing in the background and shut it down first.

Many of the bugs have been fixed. The app seems to run much better now. Although the search function could still be better.

Three steps backwards...

While the podcast itself is fantastic, the latest version of this app is unusable. For some reason, Sherlock Holmes episodes appear to be the hardest hit: they'll play for about 5 minutes, and then just stop playing. Save your money until the app is fixed...

Show is great..app is poor

The podcast is one of the best... Unfortunately the app is very buggy, poorly thought out and the tech support consists of restart the app or reinstall the app. I would suggest accessing the podcast via iTunes until the app is improved.
