Version 2.1.0
This app produce a nice organ sound but needs a major update with the following.
- A better Leslie effect or a full Leslie bypass to use cubasis rotary effect.
- Inter-app support
- Audiobus support

Not bad

Version 2.1.0
Sound is nothing special and feature set too simplistic. I would like to see this guy create a full featured app with more attention to the sound and flexibility and features. It has been a long time since last updates, which bothers me. Apps like music making ones should be updated fairly regularly to keep up with changes like new IOS versions and new audiobus. Its not interesting to buy an app like this, make it a part of your arsenal and then for it to be no good because of compatibility issues. And updates to functionality is nice, especially since that is what some excellent apps do regularly.

Having tried Pocket Organ and 2 other products from same supplier, they all sound great, very authentic. Good job guys. But your can use a lot of improvement. Please, in the next updates, add support for Expression Pedal and other MIDI controllers like Rotary Speaker speed (Leslie slow/fast). I'm using those in gigs and cannot rely on touching the iPad in the right place at the right time to get the changes I'm looking for.

Note duplication is problem

This emulation sounds very much like a B3, however there are sometimes 3 duplicate notes on 3 adjacent keys. So you can't play this like a real keyboard. Too Bad

Great app!

Version 1.5
Love this app! I'm using this as a replacement for a Voce V5 organ module that died on me. I run it on an iPad 2.
I'm using an A-Audio Axium 61 controller keyboard which allows me to program the sliders to operate as drawbars to control the app's drawbars. Also I'm pretty fussy about the Leslie sound, I used to haul around the real thing until I discovered the Neo Ventilator pedal, so I'm running the iPad through that, and it really makes this thing come alive! I'm very pleased with the drawbars and all the controls are modelled very close to the real thing. The percussion sounds great, and the scanner vibrato chorus is also great.
One thing I would like to see on an update is to make it possible to hide the on-screen keyboards, since I'm using a real keyboard, and make it possible to view all of the controls at once, drawbars, percussion and vibrato all in the same view. This would make it look more like a pro organ module, and would save having to switch the screen views all the time.
Just one other suggestion, and I'm getting really nit-picky hear: The 1' drawbar for the upper manual correctly does not sound when the percussion is turned on, this is the way it works on the real thing. However the 1' drawbar for the lower manual should be independent of this and should always be operational. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if it could be corrected.
But overall a very awesome app which solved a big problem when my Voce quit on me.

Version 1.4
I've been jamming with this app (using iPad Air) for a few hours via external MIDI keyboard and have nothing but good things to say. Great B3 sounds with very low latency gives this app a nice responsive feel. Even the on-screen keyboard feels good. This is a very well thought-out app with excellent controls for sound shaping flexibility and effects -- even options to switch to blues and pentatonic scales. I'm not a huge fan of the organ, but this is a lot of fun to play.

Poor Leslie sound and needs improvements...

Version 1.4
I agree with what many users said about how the Leslie sounds. You have to improve that, especially for the high speed sound. Also, the slow down time should be shorter than the speed up time, like a reel Leslie does... And more settings must be added for MIDI support, like channel/bank selection, volumes, etc. Also, add an option to keep the application alive (still playing) when minimized.
But in general, a great app ! 9/10

Ok but could be better

The sounds are very good but I also feel the lesle effect needs to be tweaked. also very little info provided for hooking up to other midi devices. I can't seem to make it work with an external controller.

Mad good!

The best synth app out there. It could be re-thought for iPod users but it is great on teh iPad.

Good enough for live

Version 1.4
I downloaded this app as a fun 'toy', but the more I tried it the more I liked the sound of the app enough to try setting it up for live playing...
I requested and got the complete midi implementation chart from the designer, so I picked up the iRig Midi and tried it out with my live setup (2 keyboards, mapped to be upper and lower banks).
Much to my pleasant surprise, it's good enough to use with my setup live. I have been able to implement the iPad and Pocket B3 completely into my live keyboard rig.
The midi implementation on this app is intensive and complete. I also am able to map all drawbars, and controls (Leslie, percussion, vibrato etc) to external switches as well.
I'm using a Peavey PC1600 midi fader bank for drawbars, so I have the live drawbars to play as well.
I"m using my sustain pedal for Leslie speed control which leaves my hands free, which iI much prefer for live playing.
Through a tube amp, this app really does a great job of feeling and sounding like the real thing. My hats off to the designers. The keyclick, percussion and slow Leslie are excellent. The fast Leslie simulation is not quite as accurate, but still very usable.
The distortion is not a Leslie-tube-amp type distortion, more of a John Lords type (B3 through a Marshall stack). So it's a bit harsh for blues, but great for doing the intro to Lazy by Deep Purple!
The only other request I have made is to have the percussion on upper keyboard (swell) only, as per a real B3. The designer has promised this will be addressed in an update.
I have compared the tonal quality to my Roland, Korg and sampled synths, and to Native Instruments B4. The overall tone of Pocket C3B3 is as good or better, and of course the main difference is that rather than just samples, this app gives me 100% complete real-time control over all parameters, so I'm able to play and interact the same way I would l with a real B3 live.
For live playing with complete authentic controls, there are excellent B3 'keyboards' available by several manufacturers, including Hammond/Suzuki, but these are complete large keyboards or modules, and they are upwards of $1K -$2K,
This app is usably close in quality for a fraction of the cost and size.
It has locked up only once or twice, I think it's when I plug in the iRig after Pocekt C3B3 is already running... a complete iPad reboot has resolved it each time. Much more robust than any VST or other PC based simlulator I've tried.
Very low latency, better than any PC-based intrument I've used. (that could of course be my PC setup issues)
Overall I have to say that this is an excellent addition to my live setup... and all for only a few dollars! I now use my iPad as part of my live setup, and for organ-only situations (blues, etc) I take only my keyboards stand, amp and my iPad. This app has been a wonderful discovery for me, I am once again playing a B3 live with complete control of all parameters, something I haven't had since I actually owned a B3 years ago.
Looking forward to seeing what this designer could do with a piano app, I haven't found any iPad piano apps good enough for live yet... granted the piano is much harder to re-create than a tonewheel intsrument, but here's hoping...

Version 1.4
This sounds great!! I like especially the overdrive. BUT: the fast Leslie is a bummer - sounds ugly. Too strong, too fast and more like a tremolo. The chorus/ensemble effect sounds more like Leslie than the actual Leslie effect but there you can't change the speed. Please implement a better Leslie algorithm!!! Then I would give 10 stars! Also, when connected to my keyboard, the sustain pedal does not work. I know that the real B3 doesn't have a sustain pedal, but I am playing this with a piano sound together and so right now, when I press the sustain pedal, the piano keeps sounding, but the organ doesn't. That's pretty irritating.

Very nice app. Downloaded it two nights ago. I own a Hammond.
a little disappointed with the fast Leslie effect, sounds like Tremolo. Needs to be worked on by cutting done on the speed and the depth of the high speed. Work with me here. Over all, I would give it 9.75 rating.
Thank you to the developer, this is amazing

Pocket Organ was already a great little Hammond simulator but with the addition of support for MIDI keyboards on the iPad, it has become a gig capable organ sound module that rivals products that cost thousands! I just love how it gives me the ultimate Hammond organ rig that fits into the side pockets of my keyboard bag. Thanks guys! 10 Stars!
