TrackMyTour helps you track, share, and relive your travel adventures.

HOW IT WORKS

TrackMyTour is a mini travel blogging app. Each update (or "waypoint") consists of a date, time, and location. Waypoints can also include text and photos.

The app creates an interactive map of your waypoints, which you can share with your family and friends. They can follow along with the app or with a browser on any device.

SHARE WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS

Each map has a secret link, which you can share directly with your family and friends. They can visit the link at anytime (without registering) to see your updates and a map of your journey. The can also register and follow with the app, leave comments, react to your waypoints, and get instant notifications when you post an update.

FREEMIUM & PREMIUM VERSIONS

The Freemium version of TrackMyTour provides everything you need to track your tour. For many it might be enough.

TrackMyTour Premium is an optional one-time upgrade for users who like the app and want a little more. It unlocks some additional features not found in the Freemium version.

CREATE A BOOK

After your journey you can create and order a photo book consisting of your locations, photos, and captions (needs a laptop or desktop computer). TrackMyTour Books does the heavy lifting of laying out the content, but gives you the tools to fine tune it to your liking.

FEATURES

TrackMyTour is not a real-time tracker, which saves battery power and keeps roaming costs at a minimum. Waypoints can also be saved offline when a network connection is not available, and submitted later when you're back online (e.g., hotel WiFi).

Tenth trip recorded

I have use the app for 10 trips now the first being in 2013. It's great to use, easy and flexible. Good that I just send the link and friends can follow all the way. Difficult sometimes when on a cruise ship to have the entry saved off line as the GPS doesn't always operate accurately and six of the vacations have been on cruises.

Always happy to review and remind myself of events from up to 5 years ago

I keep getting this error and I have yet to create a single map. Unknown why I get unknown error...it's simply not known.

European Trip

I have been using the app for 3 weeks tracking my tour through The Baltics. It has been great and saves time making one post instead of sending many emails. I would like to know who is actually accessing the app and following my tour. It would be great to put in your own way point as some times the options don't apply. Otherwise it is great.

A fun travel app to use

It was very easy and intuitive to use this app. I love the fact that the app pinpoints your location and the map follows you where you go. My two suggestions for improvement would be to be able to add more than one picture and to be able to reply to comments people make. I've recommended it several times.

Great tour app

This app is great for keeping track of tours or traveling vacations.

You can add "waypoints" of your trip with photos and comments. It would be nice to be able to add more than one photo for each waypoint but that is not a huge issue.

This app is not for tracking exact path of roads travelled, but instead draws straight lines between waypoints.

Overall a great way to keep track of vacations and tours and to share with family and friends.

Bicycle touring

Discovered this app when planning a 30,000km bicycle trip back in 2010. Was looking for something that would chronicle my ride. This does that and more. Very user friendly. Large map with quick link to waypoint posts.

You can record a waypoint and save offline when wifi is not possible. Then edit later. Adding photo and share with social networks etc. You can save a waypoint offline very quickly one handed without even getting off the bike.

It's the go to app I use to save my trip info and it works great as a travel diary. I've been using it for all my bike tours ever since.

5stars is well deserved.

Great App

I've tracked my cycling trip across the U.S., and am now doing the same in Canada. Family and friends have been able to follow my progress easily. App works as advertised, and I've recommended it to other riders I've met.

Good app overall

Fairly easy interface and the option of adding photos is nice. It draws on the map in straight lines which can be wrong when you have a twisty road.

Would be nice to have the app follow roads with an option to drag to another route.

Would also be nice to assign different colours to different days or sections of the trip. (ie black going and red for return trip).

A Must-Have for Tours

In my 7-month Holland to Turkey bicycle tour I used this app every day. I often look back at the overall map and marvel at my route.

Get this and use it. It's a no-brainer.

Great app for sharing a trip with family

This is a good way for family to see where you are, offline waypoints are a great feature. Only reasons for not giving it 5 stars is that I'd like to be able to export this into another format that I could print at the end- pdf? Would also like to be able to post 2-3 photos per waypoint rather than 1.

Great app for sharing

This app is a simple, easy and effective way to share where you are/have been or are going to anyone you want. Although I am finished my first tour I will continue to use this app during future tours.

A few improvements could be made (nothing is perfect!). 1) Map quality could be higher. I suggest using OpenStreet maps. For those who cannot or forget to add a waypoint before leaving a relatively remote location (or even a specific location in a large city), it is difficult to find where you were due to missing roads and landmarks in the current maps. 2) Sharing your map on a blog, facebook, twitter, etc provides only a link. It would be nice if when sharing this link, a picture of your map was provided. 3) I had to go online to get a picture of my map (rather than using this app directly) and for some reason the map was displayed in two parts, ambiguous parts nonetheless. It would be nice to display the entire map/tour in one image.

Overall this is a great app and I look forward to future updates!

Just a thought

It would be very helpful if the next waypoint would remember where the last way point was. Instead of having to reset each waypoint from the beginning of the trip.

Best travel sharing app ever !!!!

We are just back home after traveling 21 000 Km in 10 weeks across the magnificent southwest of the USA. All along this journey, I shared instantly with my relatives and friends as much as 2170 navigation points including photos. It's THE BEST WAY to share all your moments. What a fantastic app !!!

Fun and practical

Allows friends and family to follow us and our adventures. Also makes me THINK of what I write so it's engaging for those who follow the trip. Took a little bit to figure it all out, but once you know, it's easy. I do wish it had the capability of having more than one photo per waypoint. I'd also like more categories of waypoints or the ability to add my own. I also wish I could use photos from my camera. But it's been fun for the three trips we've done so far.

Love this app!

We just used this app for our family vacation to the UK and we loved it! It is much more user friendly on the iPad than on a desktop and that is why we rated it 4 stars instead of 5. I think with some tweaking to make it a bit more user friendly for people who are viewing it on a desktop it would easily be 5 stars. We purchased the app and

will use it on all our trips as it is a nice way of documenting the experience for family and friends as well as yourself.

Great app!

I am currently using this app on a 1.5 year long tour. I think it is great! Letting friends and family know where you are as well as looking at the map and seeing one's progress over time are both rewarding. Thanks for developing a great app!

Do not update this app!!!!

The latest version crashes on saves and updates. Though the entries do get saved, restarting the app after every entry is very annoying.

Great!!

Just finishes using it on a short tour and it was fun and entertaining doing waypoints along the way. My friends and kids got a kick out of seeing if the old geezer would make it. We did!!!

Highly recommended for it's task- keeping updated waypoints along the journey without a lot of hassle. Like the fact that you can use it without accessing expensive roaming data charges when in foreign countries. Upload when you have cheap or free wifi. Well done.
