Cheap AI
Playing at the hard levels is immensely frustrating and boring at the easy levels. No fair having the dice play in the enemy's favour just the male it "harder".

Seems to be a glitch?
Fun to play with friends and to challenge yourself with I really like it.
What I really want to say is that when I'm trying to make an account for online battles I have filled all the boxes with the required information and criteria etc, but when I press continue a loading icon appears and disappears mid screen and nothing happens. I tried signing in later and it didn't work.
Am I doing something wrong?

A classic, updated
Finally, iPhone 5 and retina iPad support for a terrific classic game. This is one nod my favourite iPhone games of all time, and it's terrific to see a fresh update.

Good game, but
I am unable to play it on my fourth generation iPod touch. It crashes every time I press Continue to start a game. Please fix this bug so I can enjoy this game!

Great game - similar to RISK
Relaxing yet you have to use your mind to figure out to beat the AI or play online. One of my favs for 3 years now

Best game for 2 years on my iPhone and iPad
Had not played in a while and came back to it this week. Have not found any other games that have it's perfect combination of thinking, clean interaction, chance and variability of game play. Such a great game!

Simple and addictive
Great game, simple, straight forward and fun. It can be an easy time waster or take it up to brutal level and can become very intense - 50% of the time I end up losing at highest level, which is a great to play. All in all, fun and addictive.

Nice design & gameplay, but huge battery killer!
Love the game; everything about it, except iPhone battery drains very fast while playing. Honestly though, don't let that stop you from playing it. Great fun.

Excellent Title
As far as online gaming goes on your iPhone, Strategery is amongst the best; Scrabble is right up there too, in my opinion. If you are thinking of buying Risk or this for your device, get Strategery. Its deceptively simple gameplay will keep you coming back.

LOL Ya know a game is GREAT ... when ya finish playing ONLY cuz ya have to go bathroom ... I actually didn't realize what time it was OR what planet I was on LOL !!!!! Very good, could use a bit of work
This is quite a good game, and thankfully somewhat different from all the risk clones. It feels like it could use some small changes that would make it much more of a serious strategy game, however. Some ideas:
* luck is not as big a factor as in Risk, but still too much... perhaps look at the game Diplomacy (but not zero luck!)
* should be able to redeploy armies with own territory.
* should be able to use multiple regions together in one attack, perhaps more effectively than a single front attack.
* defenders should have bigger advantage.
* terrain should be a factor -- perhaps just the number of connecting hexes?
Responded quickly to serious bug. Can once again recommend this game.
**** fun bug: it seems that if you press surrender flag button during the AI's turn... the AI surrenders! Useful if you're in a tough spot.

...I did the latest upgrade. Now like the last reviewer says when a country gets eliminated it's turn will still come up. They need to fix this ASAP

Great app but a "bug" in the last update.
The best app ever, I love it since the first day :-) play it on an iPad is terrific !
But since the latest update there is a little bug :
When I play, after some minutes of game the app just hang. Usually it happens when a AI or human player win the latest grey area of the map... Then it hang, touching the screen has no effect, the AI doesn't continue to play. I have to surrender (or come back to the menu and start a new game) to goes out of it.
For info, my iOs version is 3.2, should be fine cause Strategery requires 3.1.
Please do an update to solve this little problem, I looooove this app :-))

Don't get if your looking for a risk alternative
I was looking for a risk alternative but this game although similar doesn't have the same strategy. You basically have to spread your self out as thin as possible every turn in order to win. Would like to see more maps where it looks more like continents or islands instead of Pangea. If your looking for a game like risk don't get this. I highly recommend trying the lite version first before you spend any money.

Great game, but crashes a lot
This is a great turn based strategy game. And the online opponents are fantastic, but it crashes a lot. That is very annoying, especially for such a great game.

Great game.
I really like this game. I was looking for a turn based strategy game like Risk but all the other ones don't play that well on a small screen. The lite version was enough to convince me to buy the full version. The additional features are well worth it - especially the ability to have additional armies placed on the borders. Check it out. Great game.

If you like board games that make you think, then this is for you!
Just wish you could choose the number of players. I would like 1vs.1 matches.
Also a in the tutorial a little more explanation of how you win or lose armies. These are very minor issues though.

Finally!!! An intelligent game!
Finally a game for adults that involves more than just swiping a finger or tilting my phone.
Why I adore this game:
1. Use of strategy, customizable so the computer can give you a run for your money.
2. Can play a quickie 2 minute game, or a more involved 20min game on large.
3. Game-changing options let you rediscover the game in a variety of ways.
4. Attractive design, no overwhelming sounds/muzac.
5. Adjustable speeds so u don't have to wait for your turn.

Really? Award winner?
Rather simple I thought. On the med / large maps, you can't see what's going on unless you're scrolling, but the game goes pretty quickly - so no point in that. It would be great if you could deploy armies at the end of your turn, like in Risk. Fun to play for an hour I guess.

flipping awesome
This game is great - I've been playing it for several months, excellent for a 2 minute game or for hours at a time! Loads quickly, very rarely crashes, very smooth save system - just exit and pick it up again. Thoroughly recommend. Cheap at the price.

Great game
I've been playing this game for weeks now and I still enjoy every minute of it. The current version fixed a major issue having to do with a hidden button that would abort the current game. However, the latest one crashes and quits once in a while, which is new to me. Hopefully the authors will fix this as well as find new ways to evolve this game.

Great Game
Really is an exceptionally well-done game. It runs smoothly on older devices (e.g. - my original iPod Touch), yet still looks and feels amazing.
The gameplay is fun and addicting, and the learning curve is great (it's embarrassing to lose on easy and normal, but Brutal is almost always a tough struggle). Pass-and-play multiplayer is great, yet P2P multiplayer would be even better (a feature request email to the developer received the response that implementation is still being discussed internally - READ: Probably not anytime soon). The game actually requires you to think (hint - don't over-expand, and always defend your borders. Preemptive strikes are good to weaken a threatening hexagon). I've gotten a few hours of gameplay out of it, and the game is still as fun as it has always been. The addition of modifiers (Winner takes All, Land Grab, and variable troop placement options) will probably bring me back to the game (off and on) for months to come, especially if it is updated with P2P multiplayer)
While the game is, for the most part, bug-free, there are occasional glitches. These do not effect the ratings, however, because they are generally fixed within a week or so. The developers do not shy away from doing minor, maintenance releases as many others do. Great job on their part!

Great game
Awsome but the there are two bugs:
1. Touching the right hand bottom corner can cause it to reset
2. It can randomly in the middle of your turn say that reinforcments need to be placed even though you don't press end turn, then you get stuck because it won't let you press the end turn button
Doing these will make it an easy five stars

Awesome, but bug is a show stopper
Awesome game, challenging and additive.
It has a bug where if you tap in the bottom right of the screen during a game it will load a new game. Very frustrating when you are trying to conquer a territory in the bottom-right of the map.
I recommend not buying until this bug is fixed. I am sure they will fix it soon, because everyone must be complaining about it.

Excellent simple strategy game
After the initial learning curve the game is a lot of fun. Definitely a great value purchase. If you like this style of strategy game you'll probably also enjoy Slay.

Very Nice
what I like most about this game is the presentation. Very crisp and clean. The game play is fun for a quick 5 to 10 minute game, it is very much a 'pick up and play' type of product which is great for portable gaming of this kind. On gameplay alone I would have given it 3 stars simply because there are a few things I would like to see added and/or changed. Specifcially I would like to see a Risk esque element of being able to transfer your armies over to your other captured areas. I would also like to see an option for slower game play. Everything seems to just rush by giving you a sense that what you are doing doesn't really matter much. You end up simply going through the motions of "attack enemy" "end turn" "wait for more units to develop" repeat.
I would also like to see some kind of advanced moves where in you can jump certain areas if you meet specific requirements (X amount of units in Y number of areas enables you to attack enemies Z spaces away)
Overall for .99 cents it is a no brainer buy. For less than the price of a chocolate bar you get significantly more enjoyment, unless you have some kind of chocolate fetish. The game might end a bit too quickly, but options like increasing the play area, and 4 difficulty settings help extend the fight to a more enjoyable length.
