Handy CookBook puts your recipes at your fingertips. It is a feature-rich application with a simple and elegant interface.
Your recipes stay with you on your IPhone, iPad or iPod. Take them with you everywhere. Email a recipe to a friend. Password protect them if you wish.
Add recipes directly on your iPhone/iPad, or use Handy CookBook’s special web page for faster entry. You can see, edit, and enter recipes right on your laptop screen, then send them to your iPhone or iPod Touch. It’s easy!
Already have a recipe collection? One recipe or hundreds in a file. Handy CookBook lets you download .mz2, .mxp (MasterCook), .mx2 (MasterCook 14) , .mmf (Meal Master) and .fdx (Living CookBook) files quickly to your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
With a simple touch you can send the ingredients of a recipe to Handy CookBook’s grocery list. Customize the list, use it to shop, email to yourself or someone else’s phone, or print it.
Beef stew recipe for 6, but you are inviting 8? Handy CookBook will recalculate ingredient amounts for you.
Search by title, part of a title, or by ingredient. Handy CookBook is fast!

Un outil très utile
J'utilise cette application régulièrement et j'y conserve toutes mes recettes et je l'adore ! Cependant j'aimerais bien savoir si le développeur va adapter cette application si simple à utiliser aux prochaines versions de IOS.

My recipes in my pocket. Perfect!!
I like that I can keep my own recipes in my pocket.
This app makes it easy to change the quantity of a recipe.
It is user friendly and you can easily email your favorite recipe to a friend from within the app.

Excellent recipe app - Update
I've tried all the more "popular" ones and still come back to Handy CookBook. It might be missing an import recipe feature, but with everything else it has it still is the only one I use.

Hmnnnn what happened to the settings icon and import that was on the iphone?
I loved Handy CookBook for the iPhone and now that I've purchased an iPad, I was hoping to import recipes. There used to be an icon to connect with the computer but that's gone. Please update this great product!

Great App!!
So far so good. It is very user friendly. I like being able to enter recipes using a real keyboard and the interface works flawlessly. You can edit the categories to whatever you want and even upload your own pictures. Finally an app that got it right

Great Personal Recipe App!
This is a great app for storing your personal recipes. Very simple to enter recipes into. The servings calculators is a great feature.
The website interface to view, edit and add recipes online while linked to your device is very handy.
Well worth it!

Love it - can we have an iPad version please?
This is a great app, especially for importing my own recipes. I would love to be able to use it on my iPad (larger area means less scrolling with floury fingers while cooking)

Backup system
It would be very handy to add the possibility to backup the database to Dropbox. My Ipod crashed yesterday and when I restored, the app wouldn't start. Had to delete it and download again. I lost all my recipes...

I love this app, mainly because my main recipe program, on my desktop, is Mastercook. This is the only app (that I can find) that will transfer all my Mastercook recipes to my ipod touch. At the grocery store I have my entire recipe collection at my fingertips -- fabulous! I admit I do not use this app to enter recipes, only to transfer between my Mastercook program and the app so that I have the recipes handy. All I need now to be REALLY happy would be for this program to run on the iPad. I'd definitely pay a bigger price for it -- worth every penny of whatever you would charge for the iPad version and more than worth the measly $1.99 currently charged. Wonderful. Thank you.

Everything I was looking for - and more
I love this app! Finally I have all my recipes in one place. It takes a little while to input them, but not longer than writing them out by hand. (Many can be copied and pasted from various recipe websites that I use).
By far my favourite feature is the shopping list -- you can add, multiply, or remove ingredients from your recipes, but you can also add other items to the list, and the app remembers them so that you can easily put together new lists. Brilliant!

Piece of .....
Dont bother with this one. The five stars must be from the developers friends. I really wanted to like it, but the constant timing out when I am trying to import is horrible. I can't be bothered. Horrible

Great, But A Bit Buggy...
Fraction portions have been corrected in the release I have. Online interface so you can input recipes on your computer is a great idea, but I'm having connection problems, so its a bit buggy. Otherwise input own recipes, customize own categories, and get a grocery list. Terrific!

Doesn't work with iPod Touch
My mistake for not checking the requirements before purchasing, but com'on, what could there possibly be about a recipe database that prevents it from working on an iPod Touch???

It's ok
I like that you don't need to connect to the internet to use this, but the lack of 1/2 cup options is really annoying. I'd also love to be able to select "none" for the icons - since alot of them don't fit my recipes.

Half cup
The app is awesome. It is exactly what i was looking for, the ability to have my favourite recipes with me and take down other peoples rwcipes without needing the net. The only issue is that you can't use 1/2 cup, 1 1/4 cup ect. So its a pain to convert all my recipes.
