Love to cook, but hate shopping for groceries?

Imagine yourself out at the coffee shop with some friends, and you remember that you have nothing in the refrigerator for dinner, and no idea what you want to make.

You pull out GroceryZen, and browse through some pictures of your favorite meals to inspire your shopping. The "Lasagna" recipe sounds good. One tap later, all of its ingredients are on your list. With one more tap your regular weekly staples of "Milk", "Cheese", "Cereal", and 12 more items are on the list.

You drive to the store, and breeze through every aisle just once, with no backtracking, because the list has reordered itself. Or better yet, email it to your husband, so he can do the shopping.

How is GroceryZen better?

- Starts with hundreds of common items, and add your own to the list. You don't need to wade through thousands of items you'll never buy to add to your list.

- Add shopping lists for your favorite recipes. Add all the ingredients for Lasagna in a single tap. You won't forget the parmesan cheese like you did last week.

- Photos of recipes to inspire you to make something yummy.

- Share the list or your recipe shopping lists, to send your significant other to the store.

- The list orders itself by aisle when you go to the store. No backtracking.

- Add, change, and customize the order of the aisles to match the way you shop.

- Type a few letters to search for items if you can't remember whether you added "green onions" or "scallions".

- Add notes and links to recipes, so you can remember where you found them.

Awesome!

My husband and I have been using this app for years now. Also have a few friends that swear by it too!

I work from home, my husband doesn't. He is the grocery shopper. He compiles a list on his iphone, I check to see what we have in the house & compile one on my iPhone, the send it to him and they merge- a thing of beauty!

We also use the recipe area for recipes we make frequently by adding them in manually.

Not that great

They fail to mention that there is only 3 built in recipes and only 3 photos to go with those recipes. I bought this app because I thought it would inspire me to make something new but it only has 3 recipes? What the heck? Basically, don't buy it for that reason. I use it to make my grocery list and in that sene it works well for me, it is simple. I wish you could have more than one grocery list though.

Excellent app

I've been using this app on a weekly basis for the last year and i absolutely love it!

It lacks export/import the master item list and import recipes but it is still great. Highly recommended!

Great App!

I love how I can add the recipe into the app and with a single tap add all items to my shopping list. A quick check of current home inventory and I can cross items off with a tap. My only complaint is that if you have different units of measure (3 cups of milk in one recipe, 2 tbsp. in another), it won't combine them, and in one instance it reset all of my measurements in one recipe!! Not fun seeing as how I can't find the book that I got that recipe from! Fix this, and 5 stars for sure!!

Love it!

I love this app! It is easy to you and great to overlook! I especially love that I have my recipe book with me in one app. I would be totally pumped if it would have a weekly "meal planner" as well, so I only have to use one app! It would also be nice if you could add prices to items!

Perfect! Just what we needed.

Not only saves time, but money (and stress!) too. Having your grocery list with me all the time lets me add items whenever I think of them, saving that 'smack the forehead' feeling when you arrive home from the store to remember the things you forgot. Sorting the items by aisle is brilliant, and I love the feeling of checking items off and actually having your grocery list shrink. Once there's a way to add recipes via the computer, that feature will also be killer.
