*** AeroWeather: for pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and everyone who is serious about the weather!
*** Current and precise weather conditions (METAR) and forecasts (TAF).
AeroWeather Lite provides quick and intuitive access to METAR and TAF for airports worldwide. Data can be shown in its original (raw) format or as fully decoded and easy understandable texts. AeroWeather Lite is helpful for weather preflight-briefings, but also to just get very precise weather. All weather data is cached for offline access. There are many settings for units and format of METAR/TAF available.
The app features a built-in airport database, which includes basic airport data like sunrise/sunset, twilight times, timezones etc.
AeroWeather Lite offers built-in groups for nearby stations, today widget*, and earthquakes. Depending on your needs, groups can be shown or hidden in the main list view.
METAR alert notifications** is an helpful feature to stay up-to-date. Define multiple alerts for each station with the following criteria: flight rule (US NOAA), wind speed, temperature, pressure, present weather, visibility, and ceiling (BKN and OVC). Notifications will be sent to your device if the criteria is met (e.g., when wind is greater/equal 10 kts, flight rule becomes IFR).
Dedicated METAR/TAF** access is optionally available. METAR/TAF data comes primarily from certified ANSP (air navigation service provider) MeteoSwiss and is provided reliably and fast from our dedicated, redundant servers (indicated by blue checkmark underneath METAR/TAF).
The AeroPix feature offers users the possibility to take quickly picture(s) of the weather at their current location. The pictures will be available to all other pilots (on the map or within an airport detail view) helping them to get a better idea about local conditions. AeroPix should be especially helpful when there's no or insufficient webcam coverage.
There's also an iMessage app included which lets you easily send METAR/TAF of any airport to other users.
Please consult our web-site for a full description of all features. In order to keep AeroWeather Lite free we added a small ad banner at the bottom of the screen. Consider getting AeroWeather Pro, subscribe the additional features**, or remove the ad banner through one-time unlock* to have an ad-free app.
* Additional functionality which needs to be unlocked (one-time purchase). These purchases are not transferable between Lite, Pro, and Mac.
** SUBSCRIPTION
Additional features which generate recurring operation costs for us will be offered within a subscription. The following features are enabled while a subscription is active:

- Alert notifications
- D-ATIS (bigger US airports only)
- Area Forecast Discussions (currently US only)
When using AeroWeather Lite also the following features are enabled:

The subscription varies in time periods (1 month, 2 months, 12 months). The subscription is valid in both AeroWeather Lite and Pro. Cross app subscription support is only available if iCloud (with the same Apple ID) is enabled. Previously purchased unlock features are not affected and will work with or without subscription.
Auto-renewal may be turned off at any time by going to your account settings. A payment will be charged to your iTunes account at the end of the free trial period. Your iTunes account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. No commitment - you can cancel any time.

What Happened?
Used to be a strong 5 Star App until they started updating it too much. Now the Forecasts don’t update properly sometimes for a few days. Hope they fix this issue.

App Good, new update Bad.
Love this app, use it all the time.
But the new update rendered the app completely unusable. Nothing loads, no stations are found.

Great powerful app

Says no METAR available
No METAR available. Remind me why I paid for this widget? Was working for a few days and then nothing. Please fix and I will change my rating.
Update. After a little more than a day it seems to be working again. Better than any other METAR widget now.

Great WX App!

Latest version a money grab
Used to be good... latest version makes you pay to keep history. Look elsewhere for something better like I am. I don’t like them changing the app to make you pay after working good for years.

Still an awesome app
I use aeroweather every day, even when I'm not flying. Awesome app. Change is never easy, so when you download the update, pull down on the screen to load new info and read the help info for how to use and move the new features around the screen. Thanks Aeroweather for making my life easier. Cheers.

Excellent App
I downloaded this app to get the metars and TAF's for my flight planning. Good interface and great support when I had a question. It is the first app i look at when looking at going flying.

GREAT aviation weather app
As above, this app has blown my expectations out of the water! Real time weather and while it's geared towards pilots it's very simple design allows to change aviation coded weather to normal everyday English. 4/5 stars. Only way to get 5/5 (theoretical perfect app) would be to have weather charts/radar.

Updates about 7 minutes after the hour, I use it every day. Has a decoded plain English, good to switch back and forth for new pilots to learn the codes

Aviation weather
Great app. Best one yet that I have found. This one actually works. I use it before flight and just to check what the weather is going to be and it always updates. Other apps that I used did not do this well.

Crazy not to have it!
Clear easy to use interface, great data (both raw and decoded) and the ability to setup frequently uses WX stations and your home screen. I use it constantly.

Critical Bug
Love the app, but in the last few versions a bug was introduced: The app won't refresh metars without force closing the app and reopening it. Very annoying.

This app is precise and simple to use. It has the option of decoding the aviation forecast, which is great as I can never remember what it all means.

Wonderful App
Does what is promised and does it extremely well. With the decoded TAFs, even the non-aviator can use this to get a much better idea of the weather forecasts in a particular area. Despite the hot heads who condemn this free app as soon as a bug is identified, the developers are prompt and responsive in getting it right. Excellent. Thank you for a great app!

Annoying bug in new update
This app has been excellent although with newest update the pressure is being reported in inHg despite having been set to hPa no matter what I do. Deleted and reinstalled app and still no fix. Original Station Units doesn't help either. Love this app otherwise though.
