Stop forcing me to download
I use Safari because it’s faster and doesn’t eat your ram. HOWEVER, I had my default browser set to google. NOT ANYMORE. The website keeps annoyingly re-directing me to the download page- immediately without clicking anything- softlocking me out of safari until I restart the app. Unbelievably annoying and slimy practice- I’d expect this of a cheap desperate mobile game, but not google. Stop harassing me. 1 star. Switching to DuckDuckGo.

I wish I had never downloaded this app. From the minute I downloaded this app to my phone it became my main device for confirming my identity. I wish this was clear from the start. I have now upgraded my phone and have been locked out of my Google account. Not because I don’t remember my password or because I have false information, no. It is my account and I know all of my passwords and security questions. I’ve been locked out for simply upgrading my device. I’ve never been so frustrated in my life. Google is also impossible to reach. I have tried multiple times to reach out to them yet they want me to log in to verify my account. HOW?????

Search prompting me to use this app is soooo annoying
Lately google search in safari keeps telling me to use this app. I have had this app for years. It is ok for some stuff like image searching and translation but is in no way an alternative for safari.
There needs to be a permanent dismissal option.
This prompt is getting incredibly annoying. I am on the verge of changing my default search engine in safari because of this terrible experience.

The worst search engine on the planet
Google has ruined the internet. It used to be a search engine. Now it’s a corrupt advertising platform. Also, IT DOESNT WORK. I can’t search what I want anymore, 90% of the time I get irrelevant results
Google CHANGES your searches to something they think is more relevant (read: more likely to earn them money). It also uses words as synonyms THAT ARE NOT SYNONYMS, so they can give you more results, and make more money. For example. I searched “why is the MRI contrast so disgusting” what google search gave me was “why is MRI contrast dangerous”. Google thinks that ‘disgusting’ and ‘dangerous’ are synonyms. I encounter this issue daily. That’s blatantly wrong and renders the platform utterly useless.
Considering the fact that the first few pages are basically ads and not real results, and combined with the fact that they’re forcing AI on us, I will be going out of my way to PAY for a better search engine and I’ll make sure to spread the news about this horrible horrible ‘search engine’ so that no one else has to suffer it’s uselessness any longer

Dear Google;
What happened? You used to be the best search engine on the market. Helped revolutionize the way computers are used to this day.
Unfortunately, those days are long gone. Now, it’s just a dusty old relic. The search results are usually inaccurate, redundant or just an ad. It’s gotten to the point where I no longer say “google it”.
Every time I ask google a question, it gives me the wrong answer. When I reword the question 3-4 different ways, it still gives me the exact same wrong answer.
For example, someone in a chat room said elephants urinate from their trunk. I didn’t believe but also didn’t know for sure so, I “googled it” here are the questions I asked;
How does an elephant pee?
Does an elephant pee from its trunk?
Where does an elephant pee from?
Last question I will not write.
All the questions gave the same answer explaining that an elephants urinary tract is similar to that of a mouse. That’s not what I asked, not even close and something similar happens with every question I ask.
So, that’s just your search engine. I’m still upset you ruined Songza, YouTube music is terrible. I’m not going to bring up all the flaws of all your products but, if you don’t fix them soon then google will be as common as the dodo bird. (Extinct)
Ps; I downloaded the app just to leave this review. I deleted it immediately after. Sadly, I still use Gmail but that will change soon.

This used to be a very good app but for a little while now, for me, once you open the app and stay on it for a few seconds, all it does is crash and closes. You can’t do anything on this app!

Disappointing.
App performance has been slipping for years. Recent updates have left the app completely unstable. There is an extremely long delay in launching the app and then it crashes after a few minutes of use. My suggestion is to focus on improving the app performance before adding new features or new layouts.
