Great time killer and throw back to the classic macintosh game! Would recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable way to kill a few minutes.

Great app!!
Great to have my favorite game on the iPad!! The only disappointment was that all of the levels are available to play without having to pass each one by collecting arrowheads. But overall, I'm just happy to be able to play the game again!!

Wow, i purchased the game, played it a bit lets say for a week and then one day i turn the game on, start the race and it suddenly turns off and it keeps turning off to this day, anyways its a bad app, not really worth it, I DONT RECOMMEND IT.

Hey , what do you say when there are absolutely no players online ever? Online gaming without anyone else playing (except for possibly a few that made score rankings) is just a dead app. Don't even bother paying , I got ripped off buying this game.

This game needs challenges
To make a game addicting you have to have goals to work towards whether it is unlock-able content or ratings or something... This game's racing mechanics are decent but it gets boring after a couple of races. People need a sense of accomplishment or they won't play.

This game Is a pretty much good as it can get so either make a sequel or add more. Suggestions add more tracks add so u can use the camera instead of just mic to show a small image of the person your playing with so u can see there reason add items that lock on add more characters to choose from the selection of vehicles is fine maybe make your own character I don't know bit more content please we thrive for it.

Pretty good.
It's really fun, but a few adjustments would make it better.
1.Having unlockable vehicles, characters and tracks would be great!
2.A career mode
3.Make accelerometer automatic
4.Make the main screen look never and more organized!
Other than those things, I like the tracks and like the difficulty aswell as multiplayer via GameCenter. Not worth $3.99, if your looking something more worth it get Crash Badicoot Nitro Kart Racing 2 for $4.99.

But 2.99 for this? Kiddin me? No mission, no levelups, no unlocking, just a bunch of repetitive 'racings' with no goals of any sorts. Childish themes. There are better racing games out there for the same price. I bought it when it was 0.99 and that was barely reasonable. Overall not recommended if you are older than 14.

Good Game
Cro-Mag Rally is really a good game. The graphics are decent and the controls, although a little hard to get at first, are quite good once you master them. The tracks are a bit long and the frame rate drops a bit but the good outweighs the bad in my opinion. For $1.99, this is a great game to buy but I would never buy it for higher.

Better games out there
I bought this game a few months back, I don't think I've used it more than 10x. Not because I'm busy, no, I just don't have the time to deal with the terrible controls, lack of updates (if there were any at all), and there are many racing games out there that put this game 6 feet under. I'm guessing it got 3.5 stars because it used to be the only racing game out there, now there is better competition for this primary level game.

This game is good, a lot like Mario Kart Wii. But Nintendo has it better. You can actually unlock things and select a classic character in Mario Kart. I got it for $1.00 on sale. However, with all those snide remarks I said to it, it is great for the price.

Fun game and great graphics
The game is severely lacking a story line and unlockables. Also the lack of a high score list leaves you with no goals. That being said the game is lots of fun and very challenging. An update with a simple high score list would be a vast improvement!

Worth the price
This is a fun game with great controls and graphics but it does get boring pretty fast b/c there is no story mode and nothing to unlock. That being said, it is a very cheap game and a great way to show off your iPhone.

I first got this game and was cautious of it. the first lap i played waz bad but then it got so easy it waz like night and day. When u first get it, do the desert track with the mammoth mobile once finished its easier.

Fun - With a bit of a learning curve.
If you've ever played Mario Kart Wii with the Wii Wheel you'll feel quite at home playing Cro-Mag Rally - one finger to choose forward or reverse and turn/tilt the iPod/iPhone. My only complaint is that the controls feel very loose which I'm not a personal fan of but once I got used to it I was able to enjoy it a lot more. It brings back lots of memories of playing Cro-Mag Rally on my Mac years ago.

Great casual racer
I had my eye on this one, and I didn't want to spend $6 for crash bandicoot. When I saw this for a buck I couldn't resist. Great little racer, easy to learn tough to master, weapons are pretty good and graphics and music are excellent. Controls could be tightened just a touch and levels are a bit longwinded.
I've been getting so many great 99 cent games lately i may never play my DS again! Make this online multiplayer and you have your next top app. It needs multiplayer!

i dont know about this one. Sure, it's a great price and all, but when it comes down to the gameplay, i would much rather pay more for Ashphalt 4 and CBNK 3D. Even with the steering sensativity turned down to very low, it still is pretty jerky. Also, it doesn't even have unlockables.

Not worth a dime
I've not even been able to fully play a single game since buying this due to it crashing on me. No other apps crash. I've tried reloads/resets/resyncs and nothing fixes it.
While it is working, the game wasn't nearly as good as I thought it would be. Seems sloppy, ugly, ported, and in dire need of a polish.

Incredible game for under $2. If levels and carts were unlockable as you progress, it would deserve 6 stars. Bought Billy Frontier after this and am looking at more from Pangea. *All these people that are giving single star ratings are just cheap and jealous that others can get the game for less than they did. These attention whoring losers need to make themselves feel good by giving the game one star because the game went on sale. I bought ps3 day 1, and paid $700. If I rated the system on the "weak jealous failure"scale like these slowfolks, I would say it is the worst bluray player ever made (blatant lie), because I can buy it for less money now.*

Great Racer
Before I comment on this app, it's important to note that I purchased it on sale for $1.99 (I am not willing to pay $9.99). Given the price I paid, this is a well executed racer. I've always loved Pangea's work, right back to the days of "Weekend Warrior", and this app is no exception. The tilt controls take a little bit of getting used to, but after 2-3 races, it seems like second nature and the game is very fun to play.

An Honest Review
Cro-Mag Rally is one of the first 3D racing games on the iPhone. Unfortunately, as a racing game on its own, it stands pretty poorly. Let's sort out the basics: this is a straight up port of the same game released for Macs around 10 years ago. It shares the same interface, graphics, models, levels, and sounds as the original.
Once you get into the game, however, you'll see how little effort Pangea actually put into the port.
The first thing you'll discover is that all levels and vehicles are unlocked from the start. There's no campaign or time trials mode. Neither placings or times can be tracked; in fact there's no timing mechanism at all. Even if you wanted to keep track of your best times in your head, you're out of luck. There's extremely little incentive to play this game, and why Pangea could not be bothered to implement any of these standard features is simply mind boggling.
You'll always face 3 other racers (computers) in Cro-Mag Rally. There are some offensive items to help you out here, but aiming these with any sort of success is nearly impossible. Should another racer ram into you, you'll go spinning out of control and will probably have to turn around. This happens often and is not very fun.
Levels are way too long, and often boring. There are few (if any) real shortcuts, one dimensional obstacles, and bounding walls. Some tracks are way too narrow to be fun while others are too wide. On the plus side you get differently themed powerups depending on the level, but you'll quickly find that they're all very similar in nature anyway. Collision is atrocious and you'll go flying all over the place should you run into a wall at a high speed.
The controls are what you'd expect: turn the iPhone left or right to steer. Acceleration is handled by pressing on screen. The display rotates when you turn (the idea being to keep the view horizon straight), but this is ultimately disorienting and you'll be swerving violently from side to side in order to try and compensate.
Framerate is a huge issue in Cro-Mag Rally, and the iPhone is not necessarily to blame here. While other 3D iPhone games like Super Monkey Ball run extremely smoothly, Cro-Mag slows down frequently depending on what's happening on screen. Some levels are worse than others, but the game seems to crawl along in general - never offering a truly smooth experience.
The Settings screen offers a glowing parallel of the overall effort: a mess of iPhone style controls on a blank white screen that does not match either the standard iPhone interface or game interface styles. Clearly thrown together in the least amount of time possible.
I bought Cro-Mag Rally for the $2 price, and even now am feeling a bit of buyer's remorse. It's an OK time waster, but overall a rushed effort that I'll probably never play again. Don't be fooled, there are much better games you can buy on the App Store, even at $2.

Great Graphics
Owning both I'd have to say the graphics are superior to Crash Bandicoot, the controls are slightly harder and the lack of 'cups' and 'stories' are missed. Worth the money though.

...this is a very good game though if I had to choose between this and Crash Bandicoot I'd choose Crash Bandicoot, just because it has a story mode and unlockable tracks and charcters. Though I have both games and they're both worth every penny, I'd say Crash Bandicoot is a bit better.

What a trip!
I remember playing this on our old iMac G3 with OS 9 installed. Countless hours plying that with the sister. This is too awesome that it's for the iPod now! It's just as fun as I remembered- too bad it couldn't have included the multiplayer missions as well although that would be kind of redundant. I guess they could have put them in with computer generated players too.... I just miss the "huuh" guy (if you've played the full version you'll know what I'm talking about :)
Now if they put the original Bugdom on here too.... that would be epic. Or even a version that works with OS X...

Cro-Mag seems made to run on the iPhone
Wow ... so true to the original game, but works so well on the iPhone. The control afforded by the iPhone makes this a really fun play!
