Good cam, but terrible terrible app
I have an Akaso EK 7000 pro. It’s pretty good. I gave 5-star on Amazon.
However, the app is terrible! Actually, the useful functionalities are very poor and the operation is inconvenience. For example, you can’t change the cam’s settings from this app. And even worse, when your app connects to the cam, you can’t operate on cam.
On the other hand, this app has lots of unuseful and specious functions. It seems want to be a social media like Instagram, and insists you to share your location and open the cell data. I don’t think it’s harmful but just feel uncomfortable.

Not letting me download photos

It wants your data, absolute rip off
Grant full access to data in exchange for this small utility, what a joke. I deleted the app instead of accepting the terms they impose. People who agree and use this should expect to get spammed, ripped off and scammed.

Worst app
I’ve never seen a more buggy app when it the purpose of the app is so simple. Almost nothing works as stated, freezes often, and is poorly designed. Never mind that it’s just a ripoff of the GoPro software. If you’re going to copy at least do it well.

App Is Trash
App crashes every time I try to download footage to my phone. Combine that with the fact this is my third camera (customer service is good. Product is not) and I can’t recommend Akaso.

Useless Battery killer
I tried to download a 4-minute video clip from camera to iPhone (12 pro).
If iPhone goes dark (screensaver), transfer stops and cannot be resumed.
If camera auto-shuts off — same. If camera screen saver time comes, the transfer does not break but does not progress either, cannot be resumed anyways. Once I figured out all of the above I turned off auto-shut off and screensaver on camera, turned off the same in phone, plugged in a fat battery into both cam and phone (while trying to get through the cam burned two full batteries and the phone lost 50% — my daily use!) and sat with a timer. A 4-minute video was estimated by the app to be transferred over WiFi in just 12 minutes! 32 minutes later it was done. But not complete: the app started converting the video! I thought that the cam is not needed at that point and turned it off to cool down and replenish battery. The damn app detected camera disconnect and stopped conversion: no video on the phone as the result. Then again, I started transfer, 12 minutes estimate for a 4-minute video clip, 36 minutes later it started conversion. Phone was at 100% and on charger. 58 minutes later theRSDOLUTION conversion was done!!!! I got the video on my phone!!! The phone was still charging and at 20%. It was 45° hot. So, this conversion cost me almost full phone battery depletion at the maximum charge current. The 4-minute video cost me 1:34 hours of transfer (excluding ~2 hours of unsuccessful attempts). Then I decided to see what this conversion had done. THE APP RE-ENCODED THE WHOLE VIDEO AT THE SAME RESOLUTION BUT HIGHER BIT RATE MAKING THE FILE 20% BIGGER THAN ON CAM CARD!!!! This is not added value. This is a criminal offense. Me and my technical expertise are offended. I will never buy AKASO hardware or software again. Good job, idiots. The damage is unrecoverable.

Nice camera, terrible app
Software is clunky, invasive and has a bad interface. No, software developer, I do not want to give you access to all of the metadata on my photos. And no, I do not want to post my photos on your sharing platform. I just want a simple action camera that takes decent photos that I can download to my iphone. I’m going back to GoPro.
