Can’t download on laptop!
We generally enjoy this App and have a family account. But we need this app working on our child’s laptop! Not just on a tablet. Our children work and study on their laptops and don’t need to be using multiple devices at a time. PLEASE MAKE THIS AVAILABLE ON LAPTOPS/ all devices

Racist whitewashing of music
The lack of black artists is appalling. There are many black artists that have songs that are appropriate for kids. The few that are listed are the artists accepted as popular, such as Stevie Wonder and Beyoncé.
I’m curious what criteria is being used to choose the songs and artists that are “acceptable” for kids. I think having the option to decide your own restrictions would allow for greater flexibility in the music available to kids. If it can be played on radio, it should be included in this app, just add the clean version if swearing is a concern.

Good app, would love carplay support
Title says it all. Daughter uses this all the time, but when we’re in the car we have to use the adult account. Seems like a bit miss on Spotify’s part. Hopefully it’s on the development roadmap.

No Chromecast support
I would rate this app 4/5 if it had chromecast support, but it doesn’t. I don’t want to taint my regular Spotify account just to cast music for my toddler

As a parent, I love this!
As a family we have a Premium membership! With 2 older kids and one 5 year old, this is the perfect solution! I get that the younger kids give a bad review on their own, because they can’t do anything with it. But if you have a membership as a family this is a very nice addition. I don’t have to worry about explicit songs/ content and she still can listen to whatever she likes. Everything is there for a young girl that loves music!
I give 4 stars, because there’s always room for improvement.

Remove Premium Restrictions
I have a paid Spotify Duo account. I shouldn’t have to pay for the Premium account just to get the kids app. I’m not asking for a free account. Just the ability to restrict content which the regular app does a horrible job of. I’ll end up going to Apple Music Family since it’s cheaper as I can buy discounted iTunes cards at Costco and apply it to my Apple Music monthly subscription fee.

I am nine years old and I downloaded this app because I was going to download Spotify but I saw Spotify I guess I thought it would be better and then I downloaded it got it and it’s like oh do you have family premium and I said no and then I’ll show me things and then I had to say yes and my stuff wasn’t working this is bad I do not recommend it at all they need to fix it I need to be like Spotify were you can make an account you don’t need to family premium and this is the worst app I’ve ever used in my entire kids life this is the worst app they need to delete it now fake TickTock is better than this and it doesn’t do anything

Missing tons of content
Wanted to use this for my kids, but there’s hardly anything available. My son enjoys the Kid Stories podcast, which isn’t even listed. Only 2 Parry Gripp songs listed. Will set up an account on regular Spotify, and hopefully will be able to filter out the “bad” stuff by disabling explicit content

Audio for Young Kids Do Not Work!
I have 3 kids and I tried setting my youngest who is 3 on the audio for young kids. I cannot get the music to play. Every time I choose a song or hit play, the music will play for 2 seconds before pausing. Useless.

Missing 80% of kids Spotify content.
Great concept, poor execution. Missing most of the kids content from Spotify. Example, where Spotify has let’s say 40 PJ masks songs, this one has 3. Just let my daughter use my wife’s normal Spotify account, since this app is nerfed.

Sonos!
Would love to be able to play this through our older Sonos speakers (the ones without Airplay).
The ability to browse songs in other languages would be great (French, please).

Not well thought out
I have a family plan — we all do, since you need it to use this app.
That means, many of us, already have a separate email/login for our kids, that’s pretty much the whole point of a family plan.
You can’t use this app unless you have an open slot to create a NEW account under your family plan that is a designated kids account.
I’m not deleting the account I already have setup for my kids so I can go through this process. Let me just flag the account as a kids without the need to delete and start new.

Can’t log in.
When I signed up, I used Facebook to log in. Can’t use it on the kids iPads to log in. Seems pretty useless. Should be able to create accounts for the kids & use their own log ins to access. So currently useless.

If you’re logged into Facebook there’s no way to login. I tried to go into my account settings to use the username they assigned to my account and that didn’t work either. I like the idea of this for my 4 year old but I’ll probably just continue to use regular Spotify and make my own playlists for her or switch to apple 👎

Terrible Catalogue of Music
Love the idea of a Spotify kids’ app, but the catalogue of music available is terrible. The app also doesn’t include any podcasts for kids and there are some great podcasts out there. It would be nice to find them all in one place. Not all kids want to listen to Disney and Justin Bieber.

Let the parents control the content
Appreciate what you guys are trying to do here but after setting this up today I’m seriously considering switching to Apple Music. And that’s saying a lot because I love Spotify.
If you insist on using a kids app, you need to add controls so the parents can set what their kids can access based on ratings instead of censoring it yourself. I personally am not one of those people that cringes at the thought my kids might hear something that the censors decided they don’t want them to. Leave the parenting to the parents.
Other option is just use your regular app and add parental controls. My kids certainly don’t need the goofy avatars and the giant icons.
I want to like this - I really do but you guys really need to open things up so my kids have some choices that I can control and monitor myself.
Hopefully this feedback is constructive - it’s intended to be.

This app could be great but the content choices are terrible. I get that everything is chosen to be age appropriate but that’s too limiting. As a parent, I’d like the ability to approve music from the main Spotify playlist and have that available for my kids on their app.

Really flawed selection of music
I love the idea of this but the available catalogue of music is really unfortunate. Kids are just starting to develop a taste for music and this is terribly skewed in favor of pop music. I know you can search, but most kids won’t and therefor will only ever find what you’ve highlighted on their main feed.
Even when you do search for an artist that falls outside of the pop spectrum, you’ve oddly only allowed them to listen to a select few tracks. For example, what if they really like Harry Nilsson? Sorry, one track is all you get.
This looks like a group of mid-twenty something’s impression of what kids should like. Why not include a classical music category on the main feed? Where is Peter Gabriel or Nina Simone? You’ve almost completely hidden a vast majority of musical history from kids who are just starting to form their preferences. I’m bewildered at how narrow of a spectrum you’ve chosen. It’s almost criminal.
