Description
British Columbia's largest electrical utility and a strong supporter of electric vehicle adoption, BC Hydro operates a growing network of fast charging stations across the province. Use the BC Hydro EV mobile app - available today for use on a portion of the BC Hydro fast charging network, and to be extended to the entire network in the coming months - to charge your vehicle at stations, to get station status updates, and to order RFID cards for use at the stations.
BC Hydro EV app features
• Easy download and installation of the mobile app, ready for use at charging stations in the Kootenay region of B.C. and at select Lower Mainland locations, and later on BC Hydro stations currently on the Greenlots network
• The option of adding funds to your app and RFID card, or paying on an as-needed basis by credit card, without signing up
• An updated map helping you find nearby BC Hydro stations, showing station availability and any usage fees that apply
• Ability to start a charging session at a selected station
• Remote tracking of charging progress, with email notifications of when your vehicle is fully charged, or when the charging session has been interrupted
• Emailed charging session summaries
• History of your past charging sessions using the app at BC Hydro charging stations.

I like the Directions button to show me how to get to the station from where I’m at.

Payment
Please make an option to add a credit card, I don’t want to transfer money to some other account for credits to use later. Add a credit card and bill direct to the card

Not intuitive
BC Hydro EV app could learn from every other EV app out there (ChargePoint, FLO etc.) and go to single card sign on with NFC (adding the card to your iPhone wallet) unlock, for free.
You need this to be stupidly easy for new, first time EV drivers. While some are highly experienced, many are not. That means removing any funds requiring transfer. Even as an experienced EV driver with all the other apps, this one is still clearly in it’s infancy.

Annoyingly complicated network
App is still in infancy, doesn’t even show my local 50kw charger that’s been there for over a year... Also, you need to transfer funds to your account to use chargers, which is super annoying. Just bill people or allow tap a card at chargers. Needs significant improvement.

Pretty broken so far but promising
Still pretty glitchy but I would love if we can use one card for all networks.

Missing so many stations
Including a hydro station at UBC. Wait before you use this one.

Can’t Scroll
App seems decent, but you cannot scroll up or down to enter information. Had to call the help line to create an account. Can’t reset your password either, cause that requires scrolling down to hit the button, and it doesn’t scroll.
