The Sennheiser Smart Control App provides effortless sound control and personalization for the latest intelligent and connected Sennheiser headphones and the AMBEO Soundbar. The app does not support headphones launched before 2018 (including HD 4.40BT, HD 4.50BTNC, M2, CX6.00, CX7.00), with the exception of the PXC 550 Wireless.

Works as indented but nothing spectacular

The EQ options are certainly lacking, but it’s better than nothing. More granular control would be a huge improvement though.

The app works with my HD 450 headphones and I was able to run a firmware update, so no complaints regarding compatibility.

Overall, this app nothing spectacular, but it works as intended.

Connectivity issues seem on par with other brands. App is nice but the EQ doesn’t provide the impact I thought it would. Overall it is worth having imo.

What is everybody complaining about?

The app works very well. I was able to fully customize my Momentum 2 earbuds with no problem. I set the EQ to my liking and changed the touch controls. So far no problem.

Totally useless app

So you pair your device and it basically just shows what device you paired. I have the CX 150BT, it offers absolutely no controls, no equalizer, no battery level, absolutely no information but the model number, a picture of the headphones and a link to their website.

New Update Ruined It

I can no longer access my presets. When I tried to recreate them, it’s claiming it already exists but is nowhere to be found.

Not enough features

The app works perfectly fine for me and the limited number of features and customization is helpful but it could be greatly improved.

I would give this app 5/5, if you added a better, more complex equalizer and allowed for customization of touch control. I would go as far as paying money to get those features with my Momentum True Wireless earbuds.

Disconnect left earphone when on

Just got a pair of momentum true wireless earphones and the app was able to update the earphones to the latest firmware (it was it was successful) but the when I try to listen to music and run the app it cuts out the left side earphone.

The earphones work fine without the app open but the second I open it up it disconnects the left side. Odd.

Would be cool if it worked and I could play with eq and setting.

Hope it’s fixed soon.

No iPad version

1- No iPad version (landscape). Painful to use on iPad, each time you need to flip screen in portrait mode. Not acceptable with all iPad/Pro around and for a premium product like the TW 2.

2- Equalizer (bezel curve) is not so intuitive for me. I want to have more control on frequ. Maybe two modes, simple, and an advance one ?

Updated review: Senn add a bar equalizer frequ adjustement. Nice touch. Update rating to reflect that.

Thought I would give this app a try, what a mistake, there is nothing to it I bought the CX 150 headset, & I thought I would try this,so I could give them more bass, but I can’t even find the equalizer. 1⭐️is too much for this piece of 💩 don’t waste your time like I did, listen to the rest of the reviews!👎

Does not work with new Momentum 2s

Keep getting an LE-momentum2 option to connect to. Does not work. Needed to delete the app to get the buds to pair. Please fix this app.

Start over

The app doesn’t stay connected and takes forever to reconnect, if it reconnects at all.

The equalizer doesn’t make sense and is almost impossible to set. Looks nice, those great swooping lines, but it’s nonintuitive and difficult to control. Impossible to tune subtly. Some presets would be nice, plus standard frequency sliders.

Great headphones, Sennheiser, but please start over with the app.

Not connecting to momentum 3

I currently own the Momentum 3 and it just gets stuck in the connecting to Momentum 3 screen. I cant change the eq or anything since the update. I have the momentum connected to bluetooth and it stays in connecting screen. If i dont have it connected to blue tooth and leave bluetooth open, it says cant find even though i have it right beside me open. This is not really acceptable as i have no control over this headset now.

Issues with iOS 13.4

Bought a brand new pair of PXC 550-II that I can’t connect to this app because it says the firmware needs to be updated. BUT it says I can’t do that with iOS 13.4 and need to find an older device...

Mediocre

It’s a mediocre app that provides interface with the wireless earbuds. The equalizer is aesthetically pleasing but not functionally useful compared to similarly functioning equalizers. This reflects the limited range of the high priced earbuds. I’ve always been a fan of sennheiser and their tech, but I’m left a bit wanting.

Pretty much useless

Won’t connect to my recently purchased Momentum M2 AEBT headphones so now I need to use two apps for two headphones. Why? I have the PCX-550 and they won’t connect to my CapTune App. Even thought the CapTune App was also not very good at least it worked with all my headphones. Please explain why can’t you support older Bluetooth headphones? No one else seems to have these issues and they don’t charge what you charge for headphones either.

Very poor showing for Sennheiser, I expected a much higher standard from a company with your track record.

Eq settings not customizable

As the title says! And the sound is not loud enough even at its max setting. My $30 headphones are much better sounding even without an EQ setting.

Case Charge Drains

I just received my Momentum True Wireless Earbuds and after reading reviews, I was hoping the current app version (3.0.1), would fix the case charge issue, however before I left my house I had everything fuly charged, used the buds for about 1hr, put them in the case for 1hr, then as I went to use them, realized the case was completely dead. Not sure if this is related to the same issue everyone complained about, or I just have a faulty set. Aside from this, I’ve had random connectivity issues where the signal at times would drop in and out. Sad because I’ve had a few sennheiser products and loved them and their sound quality, but this is frustrating especially after spending over $300. I’m hoping a new update becomes available asap, that addresses these issues once and for all, and is available before my return period. For the record, I must again mention, the sound quality on these are A1.

Useless

Contrary to what is described in version 2.4.1, there is no firmware update. My earbuds are still 1.27 from a few month ago. Reset feature for both the headphone and app do not work. App and earbuds retain settings.

Not Compatible with Most Sennheisers

While all the other headphone manufacturers seem to have it easily figured out for the majority of their wireless product line, Sennheiser is way behind the times. I just bought 4.50’s expecting them to have an app considering the price, but the app only works with a small number of their products. Sennheiser reps have said they have been working on it. That was over a year ago. Still nothing. Customers being taken for granted? Maybe they are just a dinosaur company. Not sure.

Unhappy with your speaker bar set up with google home. You will not be able control your tuning without google home.

Still unable to set up speaker bar controls. Your app keeps asking me to update google home. But I have done this 6 times already.

I will need help. But what a speaker.

The thing is, it tells me I have a new update for my headphones and when I try to do it, it tells me that it failed and I have to restart the app. I’ve never been able to update my headphones to this day.

Flagrant discrimination to clients with disability

As a devoted Apple fan using voiceover, and a former client of this company, I am extremely disappointed to learn that this app is not accessible to those of us who use voiceover on an iOS device! To be fair, another player in this game, here’s looking at you Bose! Also, demonstrate ambivalence towards people with visual disabilities! Given the infantile coding of this app, and it’s poor performance on the App Store; it appears that this app is crap even if you are not disabled! I will be returning my buds! Thanks Amazon! Wont connect to the app even though its connected to bluetooth and listening to music. So app is 100% useless. Judging by the stars Im not the only one.

Supports just ONE product and there is no single app to control or update my wireless set. I can’t even check my battery unless it’s 9 mins left.. very disappointing
