If there’s one small thing, I’d like the prayers in the divine office to be on screen or otherwise available while I’m praying night prayer because I don’t know it that well.

It’s already been a day and I think I’m going to switch from headspace. There’s such a difference between self emptying in the secular view of mindfulness, compared to running towards Love. If we become too self reliant in society and focus on fixing ourselves, we don’t leave room for God’s grace to act. This app is helped me to trust, and stay humble which is helping with anxiety.

I have found this app early this morning. I have been at a crossroads with prayer, finding that I engage in prayer that will be meritorious and efficacious through accumulation and deep effort. I am experiencing that Hallow’s purpose is to slow one right down. Immediately I thought of the verse from the Old Testament’Be still and know that I am God’. I tend to find, And never that well in the noise, God But really it is more distraction with many rambling prayers . I appreciate the calm slow measured approach to the prayers that can be found here. I look forward to using it more going forward .

I downloaded Hallow after hearing it be recommended by the Abiding Together Podcast which I listen to weekly. At the beginning of Social Distancing + Self-Isolation Guidelines being announced and with churches closing temporarily.. Hallow has been amazing at keeping my prayer life consistent, ever-growing and structured during this uncertain time. I’ve told all my Catholic Christian family + friends about it.

If you want to pray every day but are having trouble forming the habit, this app is absolutely for you! They have everything here - daily guided journal prompts, minute-long meditations, lectio divina, practically anything. And you can access almost all the content without getting the subscription, so it’s not a waste even if you don’t want to pay for the full access! Trust me, my prayer life has sky-rocketed just in the three days I’ve been using the app. At least give it a try!
