But I don’t understand the point of the star and apparently wrong words. Is there a count somewhere?

Ok, but needs work.
I enjoy word games, and I have spent quite some time playing this. I get frustrated when I try a valid word and it is not accepted. (Case in point - sere. It means dry and withered.)
In the same puzzle I tried “deers” to complete, and it was accepted! The plural is “deer” is “deer”!
There is a definite need for more scrutiny on the grammar, or, for me, it causes more tension than than calming.

Lovely and challenging
I really enjoy the challenge of this game. I am looking forward to the increasing difficulty. One problem is that it shuts off after each set. Or that might be a good thing, lol, as it allows for bathroom breaks.
