I just want to say how incredibly annoying it is that there's no way to cancel a consultation. I started a consultation then something came up and I couldn't just be sitting waiting by my phone, but the consultation was still trying to "pair" me with a doctor, and it took two hours. There was no way for me to stop the consultation so I ended up not being available when the doctor was and wasting their time. Not everyone can be waiting all day once they start a consultation, especially if they don't know whether it'll be 1 hour or 6.

Connected with a dermatologist and they immediately prescribed something I didn’t want to take but before I could even ask questions, he ended the consult and that was it. I can’t even send a message back to the doctor or to Maple. I got absolutely nothing out of this scam.

I’m currently without a family doctor in BC as many people are and have had to go wait hours at a walk in clinic with sick people while waiting to get a prescription renewed. This service was fast and convenient and the doctor was courteous and helpful. I will definitely use this service again.

$69 dollars for: - 6 out of 7 practitioners listed as available to schedule - Only 1 had any time at all available - Live agent first canceled my real time appointment - Told to try again later, so I did - ETA went from 10 to 2 minutes over 15 minutes. It then stayed at 2 minutes for THIRTY MINUTES. I went to bed, emailed customer support asking to cancel since there is *no way to do so* - Practitioner finally alerts me they are there, as I am falling asleep Contact support in morning to describe experience. Told silly rhetoric like then can’t control waits etc. No, you do control the ETA algo. You’re a medical company. Take yourselves seriously and deliver service with responsible clarity to your patient, nothing less.

You can tell me it’s based on number of physicians etc - that’s fine - you should know that and update your algorithm according to those data’s which you know. Saying “2 more minutes” for over 30 minutes means your algorithm is not doing so. Do better. It’s healthcare.

J'ai payé 160$ pour une consultation avec une psychologue et dès que tu fais "retour" pour voir ton dossier médical et la page d'accueil ça quitte ta consultation alors aucun moyen d'y revenir pour reprendre rendez-vous. Il faut repayer un autre montant!

What is the point of me even using this online health app to visit a GP when the GP keeps canceling my appointments because my “condition” requires an in person visit. I just need a darn lab requisition for blood work not anything else. If this app cannot even get me something as simple as that, then what is the point of even using it. And that GP seriously needs to be removed of this app after seeing his reviews online.

I signed up for this app because my teenage daughter was asked by mental health intake to get a referral for a psychiatrist for one of their programs. Since we have no doctors here, this was one of the recommended avenues for us to take. We signed up, paid the $69 and waited to be connected to a doctor, only to be disconnected and given the reason that “after careful consideration” we need to go see a GP in person. There are no walk ins here. There are no doctors to see. The doctor at another virtual clinic told her to call back and he or another doctor would get her a referral if she needed one. They are booked up for weeks now so we tried this one. I’m devastated she was turned away from getting a referral to get the help she desperately needs. Do you even realize how hard it is for someone going through mental health issues to pull themselves together enough to get help? Then to be turned away without reason is disgusting and puts them in an even worse state of helplessness.

I love this app it’s so wonderful to stay in the comfort of your home and get drs advice or prescriptions. The Nova Scotia government has provided those without a dr. It’s almost better than having a dr I use to wait 3 hours to see mine. Each time I have used this app I hear back within a hour. The drs I have seen are very professional, thorough, kind and caring.

In theory this app is fantastic, especially because I live in a rural community, and am unable to get a family doctor and the closest emergency care is in the next town over, if it’s open.
In practice this is a waste of time and money as most of most of my “consults” are cancelled by “multiple doctors and nurse practitioners that have reviewed my concerns in detail” after only 5 minutes. With no questions. No follow ups. Just a standard message from the app that says “we can’t help you online”
At least they could do is spend 30 seconds to write a note or connect or something and say “hey, not a big deal wait it out” or “you need to go see someone in person” or “go get some over the counter meds.” I just wasted my time getting absolutely 0 direction for my sick child and I still don’t know if I should be taking her into emergency or waiting it out.
They take payment first, then your say they can treat request.

So, after entering that I had a cough, fever and yellow mucus discharge they just canceled the request on the spot! Not once but twice! LWTF?! Glad I didn’t buy a annual plan from them. Totally useless!
Dear developer if there are so many restrictions by the OCP and help can’t be provided to people it’s advisable to take down such a useless app and not waste people’s time. Besides, this is supposed to elevate the pressure off the ER and Physicians right? So, can you tell me how it’s doing that when majority of users like me have had no help with these apps! And I just had the flu and couldn’t even get to see MD though your maple app and had to go to a walk in clinic to get a Rx for antibiotics.

I’m unsure how they have this rating. 3 of my past 4 appts have been auto cancelled after waiting for over 3 hours each time. Are we so desperate that a 75% failure rate is considered good?? When I got a doctor for first and only time in 6 months, he was great… otherwise this app and appointments are ridiculous.
** update. The canned response below had nothing to do with cancellations. They couldn’t align a doctor after scheduling appointment, made me wait 4 hours then cancelled. None of my meetings required a personal exam. I need bloodwork and to go over results when they came in which were nothing of significance just ensuring my current medications were still appropriate.

I paid $200 for a dermatology consult on a rash I had on my face. I had two prescriptions within 14hrs from a dermatologist. Once you accept the prescriptions, they are sent to your pharmacy and you can no longer contact the doctor. The doctor failed to tell me that one prescription required a specialized pharmacy that was virtually impossible to get, the second prescription was for a simple antibiotic. When I contacted my pharmacy, they said the doctor wrote the prescription wrong and it could not be processed. The pharmacy tried to contact the doctor but was unable to for days. The customer service was so unhelpful and rude. They told me that they are not an urgent care clinic and that I was being unreasonable because I expected my medications to be ready in a few days. I understand some prescriptions take time but the fact that the doctor wrote a simple antibiotic prescription wrong to the point where the pharmacist couldn’t dispense it means the service I paid for was not provided. The doctor could not be contacted and the support team would not help me or provide any sort of compensation for the doctors mistake. I am in healthcare and this was not complicated. The support team is the only way to contact the doctor and they couldn’t. They were not apologetic and were actually insulting making it seem like I was being unreasonable. I never wrote reviews but I felt this was warranted.

This app used to be great. A place to speak to a health professional about a minor problem instead of waiting in long lines cluttering up clinics, as well as keeping you home instead of in public spreading germs.
Now however half the times the requests to speak with someone are declined even after updating their price to a whopping $70 for a 5 minutes text appointment. Disappointed in the service that used to be very helpful for me.

I downloaded this app because it is virtually impossible to receive any sort of healthcare or see a physician in Victoria, BC. Clinics fill up at 9 am everyday and you’re lucky if you even get to speak to a human being.
I tried to schedule 2 appointments through maple, explaining my issue, the second email explaining the lack of healthcare on the island and stating even a referral could help. Both appointments were cancelled unceremoniously with the same message, “you need an in person consultation.”
If I could get one I wouldn’t be using this app now would I?
I don’t know if the resident physician they had on staff was hungover or just in a bad mood but this is an app created to solve a gap in our health care system and they’re not even solving that gap. This is messed up.

Pointless. Thank god I don't pay for it since my work pays but I cant get ANYTHING done on this app. Had one sick note written once, and then every provider refused every other request I have eve put in (for sick notes that have been done prior, with documentation of chronic illnesses that fluctuate and are self reported regardless of it being a virtual clinic or in person, and a referral for an MRI when I have DOCUMENTATION of my diagnosis proving I require one yearly and they claim they can't do referrals online when I have had it done by other providers before.) Hands down the worse virtual healthcare system I have used.
They also respond to every bad review as if they are doing nothing wrong with corporate blurbs (which they will on this too indicating its up to the provider's discretion for a note, except even with proper details and documentation no one will help you) but they very clearly aren't in the business of helping people. Use Telus health if you can, I've had good experiences with them.

This app used to be very reliable, i used it often and never had any issues, would have been a 5 star review all the way. However, today I have been trying to get through to a doctor, and my requests are all “not understood” or “cannot be addressed”. I’m not sure how I can be more clear, I have tried many times now, and have gotten through to a doctor for the SAME issues in the past. I’d appreciate at least getting a chance to talk to someone. I am getting extremely frustrated with this, genuinely considering deleting the app, going to give it one more try though. This is so unfortunate because I really thought this app was a godsend. It gets 1 star now because it’s essentially useless for me.

I thought I was going to have to wait months to see a dermatologist since moving provinces during this pandemic , and formalities and complications with my health card would limit me more. Grateful to have found this app, fee paid, and got to connected to a dermatologist within the hour. Excellent doctor, highly recommend this app. Got my medication filled and picked all in the span of 2 hours from downloading the app to taking my meds. Very pleased with this app!

This service has been nothing short of amazing for our family. I have used it twice (both times outside of normal business hours) and both times it saved me well over 5 hours of sitting in a clinic or ER waiting room, either by myself or with my kids. What would have taken at least half the day or night, is accomplished in 15 minutes without the stress and exhaustion of waiting in a germ filled waiting room. The Doctors are kind and thorough and ask all the right questions. Each visit has resulted in the same diagnosis and treatment that I would have had in person, and the prescriptions get sent to your pharmacy of choice in under 10 minutes. As a busy family of 5, this app has been a life saver. Could not be more happy with Maple.
Perfect if you don’t want to wait 2-3 hours at a walk in!

Unfortunately not covered by provincial healthcare but honestly paying $49 beats waiting hours in a waiting room when you know what’s wrong. The drs are super helpful and listen to you well

50 dollars for a text chat with a doctor I thought was weird, but the convenience factor got me. Then the doctor told me to go to the walk-in....and still charged me $50. Worst app. If anyone is looking for something similar to this in BC, use EQVirtual it’s free!

When u first look at the app and read everything about it.. it looks simple, easy, and FREE to use. But when u actually make an account, they ask you “what type of payment would you like to use”!!! I deleted this app.. and if I were u.. I would delete it too. + the price to talk to a doctor via text is 50$, when I could just go to a walk-in clinic for free!
