Useless

It’s beyond me why Bell forces you to use this app to use certain features that should be available through the online router portal. They clearly do it only so you’ll use this app and unfortunately the app is garbage because it constantly logs me out and then refuses to accept my credentials, which is always correct. Useless

I can’t access my account to put settings on the wifi. This is a safety issue. The app is primarily used for controlling my children’s access to the internet and u can’t log in. Bell tech support wasn’t even able to help.

Unable to login

You’d think with it being almost 2025 and Bell supposedly specializing in internet connectivity, that they would’ve ironed out connectivity issues both with their internet services and their wifi app, but no, terrible internet services and an app that doesn’t log in. Truly unbelievable. If there were ever an industry ripe for disruption, it is the telecommunications industry. Can’t wait for a serious reliable service provider to become available. Would be switching in a heartbeat.

Do NOT require somebody to create an account online to make connect!

Wow! The purpose of this app is to setup internet while connected with the device WiFi. Except you need to sign up and create a Bell account to use the app — which uses a WebView browser on the internet. What?
Come on. First it’s install too large. Next it’s literally impossible to actually use without disconnect and connecting to the internet another way.

Update App to be in tune with Reality

Dear Bell,
While I love my Fibe internet, your Wifi app clearly was not designed by anyone who actually has kids and wants to control their access. Sure you can set schedules to freeze access during certain time periods, and sure you can freeze access ad hoc when needed, but this is not how life works.
I'll give you an example: My kids always want to borrow my laptop to watch Crave during the week. In order for this to happen I have to grant the device access, remove the schedule, or just leave it "always on". This means my kids get to watch for way longer than I want as we often forget to cut them off (yes, life can get busy!). Or I've left the device open and they watch TV for 3 hours before I get home from work. The way you have the schedules and freeze functions set up is completely opposite to how this should be done.
Here's how it should work. Users should be able to remove access indefinitely, and then un-pause that restriction for a set period of time (say 30 minutes). In other words, the "pause" function should work dynamically based on the devices' current wifi access; if wifi access is on, pausing will restrict it, and if wifi access is restricted, pausing it will allow access.
My only thought is that someone either without kids built this, or you've never had anyone use this in the real world before going to production. Please, please, please fix this app!!!!

Cant even login

I just downloaded this app to change my wifi name and such.
Tried to type in the username and password correctly for multiple times. They kept saying it’s wrong password… so I change both of my username and pw… still nothing works.
So I guess I’ll keep using the same default name and pw:)

Let’s Talk about this Awful app

Why even bother? This app is so incredibly frustrating to use it shouldn’t be allowed on the App Store. Trying to set a custom profile is just excruciating. There is no copy feature, so you can’t copy a time block to multiple days. You have to actually set each day manually with a slider that is barely usable unless you have child-size fingers. Enabling custom usually takes about 3 or 4 attempts before it takes. If you disable the custom block, even temporarily, it doesn’t save the custom times. That’s right. You have to start all over again. And if you throw your phone across the room in frustration and attempt to set up custom times on a browser, don’t worry - the app apparently supersedes the browser settings. Meaning, if you have NO settings on the app (because it doesn’t work), it doesn’t matter what you enter in the browser. Oh, and the best part is since I last disabled custom, it won’t work at all. I’ve set all the times and pressed “block” more than a dozen times and nothing happens. So I’m stuck using one of the other presets. Which infuriates both me and my kids since I have to manually disable the block on times they would normally have access with the custom setting. The only thing more stressful than dealing with Bell Support is trying to use one of their apps. The irony is that this is the company that runs the Let’s Talk campaign.

Very disappointing.

Very disappointing. While the idea is good, it doesn’t work as it should. I turn all my children’s devices off indefinitely and give them access when they are allowed to. This worked good the first few weeks. After that, the devices would still have internet although on the app it says they are blocked indefinitely. So my children still have internet when they shouldn’t. Another problem, the same devices are multiplied many times each. Like I have 10 devices but currently shows I have 45, which is confusing. The same devices move to the bottom of the list but are also up. Also, the names of devices keep changing automatically. Hope these issues will be addressed.

I feel I was tricked into downloading it

My 2.4 and 5ghz network separation disappeared, my printer and other remote controlled apps such as Wimo outlets on my Apple Homepod network stopped working.
Bell support wasn’t “familiar” with the app. Took me hours to get back running. Deleted the app.

Forced to have a common SSID??

This app lasted exactly 5 seconds on my phone. The fact that my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz need to have a common SSID is a deal breaker. There’s a reason I have them set with different names and I shouldn’t be forced to have them share a name.

J’ai installé cet app après un courriel de Bell la décrivant comme étant une app pour gérer et contrôler son réseau wifi à distance...
Mensonge! C’est une app pour nous vendre les « pods » de Bell!
Et après m’être connecté, l’application a forcé mes 2 réseau (5Ghz et 2.4Ghz) à utiliser le même nom.... ce qui a mis complètement mis à terre tout mes appareils connectés! Ça m’a pris 3h à tout reconfigurer!
Et après je suis retourné dans l’app pour voir ce qu’elle peut faire.... et ça bug! Page noire, page de chargement infini, déconnection du compte, application qui quitte, et quand ça marche, je découvre que ça ne fait presque rien! Ça ne parle que des Pods! Et en plus ça me dit que j’ai déjà le nombre maximum de pods.... je n’en n’ai aucun!
Vraiment Bell, retournez à la table à dessin et testez vos applications avant de les publier!!

Constant mediocre performance

Hardware has never performed as advertised, I’m constantly getting fair to poor signals across all pods. It says it can handle dozens of devices, I have less than 20 when factoring all phones, computers, tablets etc and it can’t perform as advertised. This and the home hub 3000 have been a failure in my opinion

This is only useful if you have pods. Useless if you are trying to manage the hub from the phone. Can’t do any administrator functions that are available on the full desktop web version. Wouldn’t recommend it if you want more than managing pods.

Garbage App with no support options

Originally thought it was the power cutting out in the area that was disconnecting my phone with the home hub but actually the app will randomly just lose connection and terminate any means of reconnecting and seeing the status of the pods. Additionally the pods don’t seem consistent enough with connection dropping randomly preventing me from even using the net at times. Worst part is had to call into bell with support not even knowing how to help aside from factory resetting the router wirelessly leading to much wasted time. Will buy another companies router and wifi signal extender at this point with the amount of time wasted and frustration it caused.

After trying for a month to find the optimal physical locations for the wifi pods, I’ve concluded that this product simply does not deliver what it claims.
The pods ‘optimize’ to the worst possible configuration. I have no other neighbouring interference so I’m baffled by some of the configurations. Most times, my furthest pod will connect directly to the modem with a poor signal, bypassing 3 other pods that are physically closer and have excellent signal. No matter how I change the physical location of the pods it generally starts off with a decent speed around 200mbps and within about an hour I’m getting around 1mbps. Since I am paying for 1.5gbps this is not acceptable as it is 1500x slower. During troubleshooting I even plug my PC directly to a pod via Ethernet to ensure that my computers network card is not to blame.
Speed of the pods is only half the problem. How the mesh network chooses to connect devices is also faulty. My phone could be on the furthest node from the modem - If I walk 50 feet until directly beside the modem the phone stays connected to the far node and I have virtually no signal, or my phone drops the wifi network altogether. Devices that never physically move such as a Sonos speak try to stream music directly from the modem with intermittent signal when there is a pod less that 3 feet away.
I have a few tech gadgets; Sonos speakers and a few Philips hue bulbs. This is important because they rely on consistent wifi signal to function. With Bell Plume Wi-Fi pods the Sonos speakers cut in and out constantly. Philips bulbs are often not controllable by my phone or light switches due to inconsistent signal. Moment to moment, YouTube or Netflix streaming varies wildly in video quality because of the fluctuating bandwidth - making it virtually unwatchable.
All of these issues could be solved if manual controls existed in the settings menu. The ability to manually override network settings such as frequency channel has been around for over 25 years. Without manual controls this product at the moment is not ready for the consumer market. I am fortunate that Bell offered these for free with a promotion so I can switch back to my Google Wi-Fi product which functions perfectly. I only tried the Bell Plume pods because they were free and I wanted to compare. Definitely avoid!

Crap!

In the 1 month I’ve had these pods I’ve spent over 8 hours on the phone with the worlds worst tech support ever. Bell has removed loads of features the the US model has. If I wasn’t being given a monthly credit for these I’d toss them. There tech support doesn’t know what these are which means you’re going to wait 30mins on the phone while they preform there training.
