With no money, kids can only play one level and then it is over. If the kids don’t have money they can’t get a third rescue bot to play the next levels.

After a few levels becomes pay to play
My son loved it until he couldn’t go further unless we pay $8 per character or $16 total to go to the next level. You need 3 characters to complete later levels but only 2 are free.

Very unethical pay model. Best to avoid.
Very saddening when a developer resorts to what I feel are extremely unethical pay mechanics.
I’m fine for developers to offer micro transactions as a requirement to see more of the game, but there’s a twist in this game’s model that I’ve not seen elsewhere - once you pony up some cash and buy another bot to continue, you’re locked out of all the previous levels you were able to play. Within a half hour, my 4yo finished all the 3 bot levels, and the game was now demanding more money to move on.
This would be fine and fair if he were still able to play previous content, but he’s now been effectively locked out of playing simply because we purchased a bot for him.
I would never give another dime to this developer because of this. It’s a shame, because they are otherwise a great game developer.

Wonderful game for kids. Worth buying.
So I am the first to denounce devs that try to get too much money for their game, but this is not one of them. People complaining about this for this game are way off. Yes, the free version only has boulder and blades and a few levels. It is a demo.
Just buy it. For 10 bucks you can unlock the entire game. All heroes, all modes, no ads. That is not expensive.
Plus, my boys love this game. It can be a bit challenging toward the end, which keeps my boys engaged but it is never too punishing. Without the ads, you can easily restart within a level. The gameplay is consistently good, a bit repetitive but this is a game FOR KIDS. The adult fan boys need to remember that before they review it. Parents reading reviews, need to realize that a review from an adult fan boy will not help you understand whether your child will like this game.
And your child will most likely like it, My boys love it! With a dino mode, this is a game that really caters to kids. Parents: if your kids like the Transformers, this is the one to get. Definitely worth it.

Extortion in a kids game stay away
Really in a kid’s game 2 out of the 7 Rescue Bots are locked. How to unlock them? Money. I can understand that in a mature game played by adults. In a kids game charging $3 per item or $10 to unlock them all. Maybe if there was a way to unlock them by playing all the levels of the game etc. I deleted the game and I’m hoping to warn other parents.

Huge ripoff - don't get scammed
You can play for a bit before needing to purchase a new bot. Then if you buy one bot you'll soon need to buy another one to keep advancing. You can buy all for $10 which seems way too much for a basic game. So if I knew this to begin with I wouldn't have bought any. Make this more reasonable. I'm not against paying for it but really $10? Now my kids are asking for more and am I going to give in? If I want more bots I have to pay another $3 each or still pay $10 for the whole group. Ripoff!
On top of the price, when levels are completed they cannot be replayed. So we're stuck. Either we buy more or cannot play. These developers are something else...

Don't let the 5 star Budge employee reviews fool you. This game is not free. It requires you to spend money after the 3rd level and there is no way to continue without it. Charge me once to buy the game and I may have bought it, but this kind of practice is really scummy. Using popular children's characters to basically extort money from parents. Garbage.

Great game, I hope they release updates for it!
I've really enjoyed the BUDGE Rescue Bots games but I found this one pales in comparison to the first.
Still though, it's worthwhile enough and seven dollars for the extra Bots and no ads is fine with me.
I'm happy to give more money to my favourite Transformers series!
My only problems with it is that I don't like Quick Shadow's super form animation.
For such a super popular, new character and the only female one on the team, I'd like to see a better looking Bot when she becomes super (or whatever you'd call that).
I hope they release updates for this game and continue to make Rescue Bots games as this is probably the only way we'll still get to enjoy our favourite Cybertronian heroes!

Wasteful game!
Was fun for my son for a short time then did nothing but frustrate him as it required a third bot and no way to unlock other than by purchasing. Very disappointing.

App to costly and not much of replay value
These folks make some good quality apps, but really costly. My son tried it, but he needed me the purchase a 3rd bot to continue. If I want to buy the package of bots $10. Too expensive for my taste since there is not much variety.

Swing... and a miss...
The game is good, looks nice, and simple enough for my 5 yr old the get the basics down after a few tries. It does a good job of representing the tv show. However, though I know the game is free, if you're gearing it towards kids they should be able to play without being blocked by purchasing. Soon after starting, you're required to get a 3rd character, and with no way to earn it, as far as I can tell it must be purchased. For $2.99... per character... Even worse, you can't replay to previous levels, you're just stuck. Here's a tip: if you're gearing your games towards kids, the only thing that should stop them from completing your game should be difficulty. Extra characters should be a fun, reasonably priced extra. My son enjoyed the game, but now that it's at a standstill, it will likely be forgotten within 24hrs, which is too bad for an otherwise fun game.
